THE PROTECTOR
Chap 23's

Levi left the house to meet with the Azure Dragon, whom he ordered to wait for him outside the house.

“What can I do for you, Mister?”  Ask Azure Dragon.

"I want you to contact these companies."  Levi gave him a list of company names.

Next day.

Zoey is awakened by Aaron in the early hours of the morning.

"Where is Levi?  I thought he came out last night to get funding, but what took him so long to get back?” Aaron said disapprovingly, “He can't do anything right.  He was born a loser, useless!”

Zoey is angry at thinking that Levi didn't even bother to tell her when she knew she was going out all night.

“We'd better sign the contract before it's too late.  Let's meet Harry now!"

Harry and his men were already standing at the family home when Zoey and his family arrived. A joyful smile was seen on their faces as they greeted Zoey and her family.

It was too much fun for Harry and his colleagues to see the three of them come begging with their tails between their legs.

"You should have chosen better yesterday than to fool yourself now, Aaron."  Henry and Fabian scoffed at him, "Can't you see that there's no way you can get this investment?"

Aaron lowered his head and said weakly, "We're here to sign the contract, father." Anger rang out in his chest as he thought of Levi.

If it wasn't Levi who advised them to hold back for three more days, they would have signed it the same day it was offered to them, he said, It would seem more like a respectable deal at that time.

Now it's been something of a disrespect in the eyes of Harry and his company now, because Aaron had to plead for a contract with them.  Knowing the contract was now the last option for Zoey, it would only make Aaron seem desperate and lost in the eyes of the Lopez family.

Aaron and his family had never felt such humiliation before.  It's all because of Levi.

“Yes, we are ready to sign it now, grandfather.”  Zoey told Harry.

“Sure, we can sign the contract.  But there will be a change of terms.”  Harry's expression changed and he curled his lips into a grim smile, “We no longer ask for ninety but ninety-five percent of the profits now.  The remaining five percent will be yours.”

"What's?  Didn't we agree on a ninety percent cut for you guys and ten percent for us?” A sudden sense of shock struck Zoey as she looked at Harry in disbelief.  Harry just dropped a bomb on him.

"Don't I tell you the terms have changed?"  Harry said in a scornful tone, “That's our offer.  Take it or leave it."

Knowing the ball was now on his pitch, Harry knew he was the one who shot.  The change of terms seems justified to him because Zoey is in desperate need of a contract.

“Alright then, I'll miss it!  I will not give up this project at all!”  he said angrily, "No one will get a dime out of it!"

“How can you say that, Zoey?  Five percent will still give us fifty million, at least something for us!

“Your mother is right, Zoey.  We can't lose it, just sign it! ” The relentless interruption of Aaron and Caitlyn leaves Zoey with no choice but to sign the contract.

"Stop!  Don't sign that contract!" Just as Zoey was about to sign the contract, Levi showed up and stopped him.

"There's still time before the deadline," she snatches the pen from Zoey's hand, "why do we have to sign it now?"  she asked.

"What do you think you're doing, Levi?"  Aaron almost wanted to slap Levi in the face, “Why did you stop us from getting fifty million?  Is it because you're jealous that you have nothing for yourself?”

"Ten minutes!  give me ten minutes!  Once the time is up, you can do whatever you like. ” Levi glanced at his watch and said, "You can sign it in ten minutes!"

"Good!  I'll give you ten more minutes to prove yourself!"  Aaron muttered with gritted teeth,

"Make sure you make something in ten minutes, or I'll never forgive you for the rest of my life, let alone let Zoey stay with you!"

"okay!"

Levi's unyielding attitude made Harry curious.  He was curious to see what would happen within ten minutes. "Alright, let's wait another ten minutes."

Henry and the others laughed out loud.  They can't wait to get their popcorn ready to watch a funny comedy in ten minutes.

Ten minutes passed in an instant.  And so far no change has happened.

“Sign lah!”  Henry throws the contract in front of Zoey.  He was certain that no white knight would come to save him.

Broom!  Broom!  Broom!

At the same time, the roaring roar of machines filled the entire Lopez family mansion. It attracted everyone's curiosity to step out of the building.

What greeted their eyes was the row of luxury cars that had entered the Lopez family mansion.  They all stopped when they reached the family building.
