THE PROTECTOR
Chap 49's

High School Reunion at the Royal Hotel.  Although the place is not as luxurious as revolving restaurants, the table reservation fee is at least ten to twenty thousand USD.  The Royal Hotel is considered a fine restaurant.

For someone who receives an average salary amount, eating there will cost three to four months of their monthly income.  Not everyone in their class is so lucky in life.  Some are fine, while others barely live their lives.

Several men in suits greeted the newcomers near the hotel entrance.

They huddled around Porsche Panamera Chloe upon his arrival.

"Oh?  Isn't this the prettiest girl in our class?  I hear he makes a few million a year.  I think it's true because he's driving a Porsche!”  Some male classmates start bootlicking.

Chloe smiled embarrassedly after hearing the compliment.

But the smiles on everyone's faces froze as they watched Levi get off the passenger seat.

They had not expected Levi to attend the reunion, let alone come to this reunion with Chloe.

“Oh, this is Levi, an influential figure in those days.”  A well-dressed man broke the awkward silence.  He's class president, Jed Barrett.

Even though he was the class leader, Levi had always outperformed him in the past.  So Jed spends his youth chasing Levi, trying to match Levi's achievements.  Jed successfully entered one of the top universities and is currently working in a multinational company after graduation.  He is rumored to be getting a few million a year as well.

Jed's car is an expensive Range Rover.  He was one of the high achievers in the class.

Levi greeted him with a smile.

"We thought you weren't coming, Levi."  Some of the other classmates asked in surprise.

Jed rolled his eyes at the person asking the question.  “Levi is not a narrow-minded person.  He was not someone to be bothered by his current situation. ”

Everyone discussed Levi's matter in the private room earlier.  They shared the same opinion that Levi would not attend the reunion because he would be too embarrassed to face others due to his recent imprisonment.  But who would have thought in the end Levi appeared.

"You're right.  Levi is a tough guy.  We will never be able to reach his standard.”  The other classmates laughed.

Jed walks past Levi and stops in front of Chloe.  “Finally you're here, Chloe.  Come on, follow me into the room now.  Everyone is waiting for you.”

Jed is interested in Chloe.  She knew Chloe was still single, so she purposely arranged the meeting because she had the ability and qualifications to pursue her.

Everyone swarmed around Chloe and ignored Levi.

"Can we?"  Chloe stops to talk to Levi before she follows them to the hotel.

Many people had already arrived at the third floor of the Royal Hotel.

Some of them even brought their partners along.  So the place was much more lively than Levi had expected.

Everyone stood up to welcome Chloe, especially the men.  Chloe is a beautiful person, besides being beautiful she is also a successful woman in her career.  So he shone brighter than ever in everyone's eyes.

Levi looked for a random seat and sat down.

 “Did my eyes deceive me?  Isn't that Levi?"  One of the men, Wayne Warren, exclaimed. “that's really him.  Levi is here!"

Everyone turned to look at Levi all of a sudden.

Levi was once the richest among his peers, the dark horse in the city's business world right after he graduated from university.  He was a man with a net worth of over a billion, admired by women and envied by men.

But after his downfall at the hands of the Garrison family, Levi became the most despicable person on everyone's mind.  They humiliate and humiliate her just as they have looked at her in the past.
