Chapter 109 Dejavu
POV NARA (flash back on)
I continued to observe Juli's movements while tying Pradipta's attention to me. Dividing the concentration between July's arrival and making Pradipta focus only on me. From the corner of my eye I looked at the woman who took my husband and ruined my life. He stopped a few steps from the bench where I sat while covering his mouth with both hands. His eyes are wide open. He looked at Pradipta seriously. Maybe he wanted to ascertain if the one sitting with me was the man who had invited him to get engaged a while ago. I smiled and felt sorry. I know how it hurts.
Juli looked at me. I know he knows me. Now his eyes are looking at me sharply while ascertaining who I am. I knew he knew I saw it too. But July did not move closer or make a sound. I don't think July wants Pradipta to know his presence. I don't know what the reason is, but I don't really care. It also benefits me. I have to make Pradipta focus on me. If he makes a sound or Pradipta knows his presence, it's very likely that Pradipta will leave me. At the very least, Pradipta will not focus on me. Several times July's eyes moved between me and Pradipta. I saw clearly the angry and disappointed flashes stored in July's eyes.
I thought about M. I'm worried about his current state. How does he feel, with the presence of July. Does his heart also hurt to see Juli jealous of Pradipta? Was he angry with Juli's anger and sadness at Pradipta? It looks like it is, but I also can't find out or entertain him. Even though I really want to be around him right now.
I'm trying to throw my mind off M. I went back to Pradipta and July. At first glance I glanced at the furious wanta. His eyes looked at his fiancee. Pradipta was looking at me clingyly while tightly grasping my hands that were slightly sweaty from nervousness. I'm sure with the distance between me and Juli, I didn't hear what we were talking about. But July must have known what Pradipta did and said to me. I'm sure women like Juli, who is also M's brother, know Pradipta's body language. Juli must have understood the meaning of how she treated me and the radiance of Pradipta's eyes on me. Juli's face looked hard. There was disappointment and pain in that eye. I feel like dejavu. I remember back in time when Juli heated up and demeaned me. I'm just smiling. Soon I saw Juli turn around and get back in the car. I saw one of Henry's men hanging out on the bike in the back of July's car. After a while, Juli's car returned to work.
After July left I returned to concentration with Pradipta. I tried to make my husband feel comfortable with me. I want him to really remember me when he meets Juli. Like she used to remember Juli when she was with me.
“You are already sleepy, Nara,” said Pradipta.
“Yes, today is quite tiring. Especially tomorrowthere is still a pretty solid photo shoot,” I said.
“Yes already, we go home yuk. It's not good for Nara too if it's too late outside. Let me take Nara home,” said Pradipta.
“No need to mas, I go home alone,” I said as I glanced at M and his friend. But Pradipta insisted on driving me home. Finally I said yes after M whispered to go with Pradipta. They'll follow from behind. On the way home, Pradipta took my hand in a friendly manner. We didn't talk much until we stood in front of the fence. Pradipta straight away. He kissed my forehead and came home. I went inside the house and it was clean.
