Blue and Lonely

When Blue reached the apartment with two large grocery bags in hand, the sun was already fully home and the night began to crawl up.

With the remaining energy he still had after touring the shopping center to buy materials that had been used up, Blue brought the two bags of groceries to the kitchen, and then took them to the kitchen, put it on the dining table while he darted to the front of the refrigerator.

The state of the refrigerator was still the same as the last time he checked, empty hopping. So empty, he no longer needed to think about providing space for the materials he had just bought.

After mapping out where he would put those ingredients based on the type and odds taken first, Blue went back to the dinner table and grabbed a bag of groceries containing several bottles of two-liter mineral water. Immediately set the bottles in a place that is available.

Finished with bottles of mineral water, Blue switched to another bag of groceries. There are various types of food. Starting from instant noodles, instant porridge, cereals, oatmeal, frozen food and some canned foods that just stay heated before eating.

Yes, Blue bought all kinds of fast food because he could not cook. He even always fails when cooking rice, between his rice will be raw, or turned into porridge because he put in too much water.

Blue is not just resigned to its condition that can not cook. Until the end of last year when he was still living in Surabaya with Aunt Maya (his father's biological brother), Blue still continues to strive to improve his cooking skills. But nil, there he only made the kitchen belonging to his aunt messy.

As a result, Aunt Maya no longer allowed him to set foot in the kitchen, if the purpose was to cook. The woman would nag at full speed and force herself to sit sweetly waiting for the food to be ready to be served in front of her.

It was also one of the reasons that made Aunt Maya had strongly opposed her idea to move back to Jakarta. The woman was worried that she would not be able to eat well here.

And, yes .. the woman was right. For almost a year he lived alone in Jakarta, what Blue consumed was completely indiscriminate. Blue only eats what is easiest to make, regardless of the nutritional content and taste of the food itself.

"Ha .. if Aunt May knew I could only stock ready-to-eat food like this, I would be dragged back to Surabaya." His monologue. Then he chuckled as he imagined the expression on Aunt Maya's face as the woman nagged him.

But, maybe Blue shouldn't have to think about Aunt Maya to the extent. Because not long after his lips clenched again, the phone from inside the jacket pocket vibrated, indicating an incoming call.

Blue pulled out his phone, Aunt Maya's name was listed there, complete with a photo of the twins who were used as a profile photo. The green log is shifted, and the video call is connected.

Blue walked back to the dining table, sitting in one of the chairs while waiting for Aunt Maya to speak from across the phone as it seemed that the internet connection was a little unstable.

"Hello, Bi!" greet Aunt Maya at the end. His voice was still as cheerful as ever, the kind of sound that could revive his originally dim spirit.

"Hello, Tan." Blue says hello.

"You just got back from college?" ask Aunt Maya, maybe because she saw Blue still dressed neatly. Because if only at home, Blue will usually only wear a T-shirt and shorts above the knee.

"Yes, here. So tired of being a student, want to get married." His joke, which instantly made Aunt Maya squeal from across.

"New second semester, already tired! Anyway, you think marriage is good? No! Tired too!"

Blue chuckled at Aunt Maya's frenzied expression. In fact, he was just kidding. But his aunt had always responded to his joke in such a frenetic manner. Sometimes so excited, Blue to question the status of Aunt Maya as the biological sister of her late father. Because, the two of them were two people with very opposite natures.

"By the way, you're out shopping?" in an instant, the tone of Aunt Maya's voice changed again. Return to normal mode and no longer.

"Yes, nih, same food stock shopping drinking water." Blue replied, trying not to prolong their conversation about groceries because her feelings were suddenly unpleasant.

And sure enough, before he could divert the conversation, Aunt Maya had already discovered the existence of several ready-to-eat food packages sticking out of the shopping bag she had put on the pantry.

"How many times did Auntie say, Blue!!! Don't eat instant food like that! Not healthy!" aunt Maya's Omelette.

"Well, blue can't cook." Blue answers according to facts. The aunt knew she couldn't cook, right?

"Buy in warteg! Buy at a home restaurant! Not hard, Blue. Not hard!"

"Difficult, Tan. Far, Blue lazy way."

"If this is the way, Aunty really will move to Jakarta. Let someone else make you!"

"Where could that be? Richard's work is in Surabaya."

"Richard to stay here, Auntie and the twins are moving to Jakarta!"

"Any, when her husband wants to be left behind just for the sake of the niece, anyway?" blue Cibir. I don't know why Aunt Maya thinks so.

If you think what Aunt Maya said was a joke, you're wrong. For the woman is always serious with every word that comes out of her mouth. So, Blue must always rotate the brain so that Aunt Maya can not realize these crazy ideas.

"You're not just an auntie! You're half a breath Auntie, Bi!"

"Curtain, lebay." Blue again. He knew that the woman was telling the truth.

Ever since her parents died in a plane crash when she was sixteen, Aunt Maya has been the only person willing to voluntarily care for herself with compassion. The woman did not hesitate to take her to Surabaya, forcing her husband to apply for a transfer from Jakarta to Surabaya so that they could live more peacefully in the city.

Because, Jakarta saves a lot of wounds for Blue.

It is not just about the death of his parents (who even until now have never found his body because the plane they were traveling on fell into loose waters), but also about the heartache caused by a young bastard named Baskara.

"Blue is okay, don't worry." He said, after a long time.

"I know you're not, Bi."

"Now it may not be all right, but slowly things will improve. Aunt May just calm down, okay?"

I heard a heavy breath from across. Aunty Maya's gaze suddenly turned soft, making the atmosphere felt around Blue also turn blue.

Then, before the feeling of sadness was spread everywhere, the noise from across the phone made Blue breathe a sigh of relief.

It was the voice of the twins, who were either fighting over what.

"They take care of it first" said Blue.

Aunt Maya grunts as hell. But it is not closed to stay out of place and approach a pair of twins who are playing in the living room.

"Celia, Cello! Mommy said what? Don't fight over toys!"

Blue chuckled when he found his five-year-old cousin staring at the mother for a while, before finally returning to fighting maninan.

"God! It's a two-biter duplicate of Richard! It's raging, it's rambunctious!" Omel Aunt Maya, I don't know who.

"Yes, take care of those two little fellas. Later we will connect again if the duo of midgets have slept."

"Hah .. Yes, Aunt hang up first. Auntie will call you again."

"Yesaa ... "

The phone was closed, and Blue was again left to roll with loneliness that felt up to the bones.
