Thanks to an effort that could not be said to be easy, they finally managed to pocket one address where Jasmine lived. They then rushed to get there, using one car with Juan as the driver and Baskara sitting in the front passenger seat to accompany and direct the road. While on the rear passenger bench there are Reno, Blue and Fabian with Blue formation sitting in the middle.
The journey took about 30 minutes until they finally arrived in front of a luxury apartment building which is approximately 5 kilometers from Neosantara.
Juan pulled his car over, then galloped down followed by the others.
But unfortunately, they seem to be too late.
In the front parking area, there are two police cars and one ambulance car that is parked. Some people seemed to be crowding around, figuring out what was going on in their current residence. The crowd was slightly widened when from the direction of the entrance to the main building, there appeared several officers in all-white uniforms pushing a stretcher carrying a person whose entire body was covered in a white cloth— which signified that, if you, the man on the palanquin was no longer alive.
Blue reflex squeezed Fabian's hand standing next to him as one tagged down, revealing a butterfly tattoo on the wrist. The tattoo made Blue certain that the person lying on the stretcher was indeed Jasmine. Because three days ago, he had seen the girl post a photo on her personal Instagram account to show off her newly created butterfly tattoo.
When the stretcher was finally put into the ambulance and the ambulance door was closed, Blue could no longer see what was ahead. He moved closer to Fabian, then hid his face on the young man's straight shoulder. His feelings are mixed. Between temur—but do not know angry to whom—and regret because they too long sought Jasmine's whereabouts so as not to have time to save his life.
While in the ranks of the five of them, Baskara noticed everything. How Blue tightened the body towards Fabian until then the face of the ayu was set on his shoulder. He was jealous, that's for sure. But they have agreed to live this relationship secretly while looking for a way to explain their true situation to other friends. So with such a big willingness, Baskara suppresses jealousy strongly, getting rid of his ego so that everything does not go back to damage.
The sound of sirens echoed through the air as ambulances began to rush past them. Two police cars were escorting behind with sirens that were no less deafening. The originally clustered crowd began to disperse, leaving a few who then shuffled to the guard post in search of information.
Later, Reno becomes the only one who has the courage to gallop to the guard post to get information. The rest could only look at his wide back that was walking away, not having the same courage to hear directly about what was really happening.
While waiting for Reno to return with the information, Blue slowly distanced her face from Fabian's shoulder. His gaze was immediately fixed on Baskara who was standing far from his position. Then his body immediately froze when he found the look in the young man's eyes that clearly showed discomfort. Reflexes, Blue keeps her body away from Fabian. Wrong behavior he tried to explain to Baskara through his gestures that, he did not mean anything. Merely unable to resist feeling too difficult to explain when finding Jasmine drooping undifferentiated, and only Fabian was the closest to her.
However, the Blue finds Baskara drawing a glance before he actually gets an answer that the young man understands the situation.
From Baskara's own point of view, he drew the view because it felt too difficult to resist jealousy when constantly talking to Blue. It felt like he could have hit Fabian who did nothing when the girl clung to him, as if that was exactly what Fabian wanted from the start. So instead of making a fuss, Baskara pretended not to see anything.
Minutes by minutes they spent waiting. Until Reno finally returned with a gloomy look, too foreign to be found from the young man who was more often seen tearing it up.
"Where?" Baskara moved closer, and the first thing he got from Reno was a low breath.
"Say, his body was still warm when he met the security guard, so he's most likely still alive while we're rummaging through his address." Reveal Reno, when at least he has managed to master himself. "We're late, Bas. And .. This is all because of me." His words are full of regrets.
"Your stubborn chat was not to tell where Jasmine was, so this is not your fault at all." Baskara tried to calm down. Reno's shoulders that seemed to droop down he rubbed many times, like he was about to channel strength and spread the belief that this was not the fault of Reno— or anyone among the five of them.
Didn't they at least try? Unlike the people who were just busy berating and accusing Jasmine of being sensation-seeking, didn't they at least make an effort to look for the existence of the girl? If it turns out that now Jasmine's life remains unhelpful, then it's no one's fault.
While Reno was still trying to clear her guilt-ridden head, Baskara turned to look at the others one by one. Then his gaze stopped on the figure of Blue which is now seen once creating a clear distance both with Fabian and Juan.
"It's not wrong to either." Her speech. Because from the look in his eyes, he knew Blue was also blaming himself. "We wouldn't be here to seek Jasmine's safety if it wasn't your initiative. That's enough. You've been trying to stay human, so don't ever think it's your fault." Later, Baskara turned to Juan and Fabian again. "So do you guys. Nobody's guilty here, it's all happening and we can't do anything about it." Sneakily.
That afternoon, under the moving sky changing its color from orange to dark gray, the five of them were riveted for quite a while. Just to convince yourself that what happened has become God's will, and it is no one's fault.
...****************...
Half ten nights, Blue was still pensive on the sofa in the front room of his apartment. There was not much he did, only more often daydreaming while occasionally sighing long as his eyes read again one by one the evil comments in the last upload of Jasmine.
Until now, the news of Jasmine's death has not reached the ears of residents of Neosantara others because the case is still being explored by the police. It makes malicious comments still come, without them knowing that the owner of the account even no longer exists in the world.
This is really concerning. How could people so lightly move their fingers to write something hurtful, even if it was read by someone else who was not concerned? How can in this sophisticated era, people lose the empathy and humanity they should have? How can, mental health and the issue of suicide be used as a joke, even just considered as a sensation-seeking effort?
Blue just does not understand, is the more here, humans are indeed set to be evil in order to prioritize their own interests and satisfaction?
"Sleep, it's night."
Blue raised his head, finding a young man emerging from the kitchen with a bottle of mineral water which was then thrust upon him. He had no choice but to receive the bottle of mineral water, then again glued with a blank look.
