Sera had just arrived in front of Baskara's nursery when her phone rang aloud. Automatically, he undoes the intention to open the door and first check the smart object he keeps in his tote bag.
His eyebrows shot up one day when he found a foreign number calling. He weighed for a while, before finally sliding the green log to receive the call.
"Hello?" sapana.
"Hello, Auntie." The voice of a young girl greeted from across the phone. His voice was not too foreign, it was just that Sera was also not too familiar with that clear voice.
"Who? What's the need?" tanyanya to the point. Too lazy to make small talk because he had to go in immediately to make sure his son who he stayed for a few hours was doing well in his nursery.
Trusting two people to stand guard at the door certainly does not immediately make Sera feel relieved. Because he knew Baskara had a lot of sense that the boy was willing to run away in other ways.
"I'm Jasmine, Auntie. Baskara's friend." Answer the girl.
Sera was silent for a moment, trying to recall whether Baskara ever mentioned Jasmine's name in the midst of a chat about her friends. And although in the end he still did not find that the young man had mentioned someone named Jasmine, Sera still patiently served the girl.
"What's up, huh?" tanyakanya. Using his hands, he hinted to the two guards in front of Baskara's nursery to look inside, to check what Baskara was doing. While he was walking a bit away to the right side in order to avoid being caught he was within the distance of the son. "I'm busy, so I'd be very grateful if you'd like to go straight to the point." After finding a spot that feels safe.
"I need to convey something to Auntie. But, apologize in advance, I have to convey it directly, can not be by phone. If Auntie's pleased, can we meet?"
Without any suspicion at all, Sera replied, "When? Where's where?"
"Now? At Cafe Daun, it is not far from the hospital where Baskara is treated. I hope Aunt is ready. I don't know if I could pass this on to Auntie if it wasn't now."
"What's this about?" probing Sera, it began to feel that something was amiss from the way Jasmine spoke. The girl was impressed to make it look like she came willingly, when in fact the girl had inserted words that had indirectly forced her to come.
"On Baskara and ...." Jasmine gave a pause for quite a while, making Sera whose patience was not that much as a jerk grit her gritted teeth.
"And what?" tanyakanya.
"Fabees." Jasmine. "It's about Baskara and Fabian." The girl repeated.
Actually, Sera had no thoughts whatsoever about what Jasmine would say about Baskara and Fabian. But the name Fabian, which is juxtaposed with the name of his favorite son, made Sera speak impulsively say yes.
"I'm going there now." Said. Not wanting to hear more, he turned the phone off and the flat object back he put in the bag.
Sera walked over to the two guards who had returned to their original standby position, a sign of the task he had given to check on Baskara's condition had been well implemented.
"Young Master is sleeping, Madam." Said one of them before Sera asked.
Sera nodded her head. "I have a sudden business. Please make sure no one but Jeffrey is in and out of Baskara's nursery as long as I'm not around. Please also make sure all the needs of Baskara are met, without you having to leave your place any time." Declared.
"Okay, Madam." The two guards nodded obediently without much question.
Sera rushed away from there swinging her steps wide.
...****************...
The Cafe Leaf that Jasmine mentioned was only about six hundred meters away from the hospital so Sera could reach it on foot. The seven-centimeter high heels attached to the legs of his level are not a hindrance because he has become accustomed.
From the outside, the cafe looked quiet. The light from the yellowish lamp that was characteristic there shimmered illuminated some parts, as well as the people sitting spread throughout the parts.
Sera walked slowly into the cafe area, as her eyes swept over every chair that appeared before her eyes to look for the whereabouts of the young girl named Jasmine.
It's not too hard to find Jasmine, because apparently, the girl she's looking for is the same girl that made Baskara look uncomfortable the other day. It wasn't her face that made Sera easily recognize, but rather a dress style that looked much more glamorous to the size of a female student her son's age, also the characteristic lies in how the girl restores her long hair using a lentic fingers painted in bright red.
Sera saw the girl rise from the chair, welcoming her with a smile that extended to her ears. However, Sera knew the smile was insincere as the curvature on the lips did not extend all the way to the eyes.
Even so, Sera still received the welcome well. He said Jasmine pulled out a chair and invited him to sit down. He was still accepting when Jasmine suddenly ordered a drink, without bothering to ask what she wanted to order.
"As I said before, Jasmine," Sera said starting because Jasmine was still busy talking to the waiter who recorded the order. "I'm busy, so let's shorten the time by not doing too much unnecessarily."
Jasmine smiled faintly at him, then went back to talking to the female servant. "Please deliver as soon as possible, my future-in-law is in a hurry." Said the girl.
Sera did not understand why Jasmine could so confidently call herself by the word prospective in-law, but he did not have time to protest because the curiosity of what Jasmine was trying to convey was much stronger.
"Auntie's here on foot?" ask the girl.
Sucks. Sera was eager to grab the fine-looking strands of hair, but with all her might she held back her desire for an image. Pramudya Baskara's mother should not look arrogant, it's what she always remembers inside her head every time she loses self-control.
With a contrived smile, Sera looked at the young girl before her. "I'm in a hurry, Jasmine. Please work with her." He said in a tone as soft as cotton, but still full of emphasis.
If you can be honest, Sera had only first met a young man whose guts were as big as Jasmine. Because even after he spoke with such emphasis earlier, this girl in front of him still had time to giggle.
"I don't think you're deaf, Jasmine." Sera smiled cynically. "I'm busy, so don't waste time." Reciprocity. Her cynical smile widened, which was damn, even made Jasmine laugh.
If they were not in the public sphere, Sera would probably silence Jasmine's sassy mouth using her own hands, not forgiving until the girl was suffocated.
After spending a few seconds listening to Jasmine's annoying laughter, Sera was finally able to breathe a little relief as Jasmine's laughter subsided. The girl then pulled out the earphones from inside her bag, then the tiny thing was thrust onto her.
"Make what?" ask Sera.
Jasmine smiled meaningfully, "Wear it, Auntie. I want Aunt to listen to something interesting," while shaking the phone in hand.
Sera did not like to be ruled, because from a long time ago, he was the one who used to give orders to the people of his father and mother's trust. But tonight, in the presence of this selfless snot boy, Sera must lower her ego in order to satisfy her curious stifling throat.
Slowly, Sera took one side of the earphone and then put it on her right ear. Then he saw Jasmine tapping on the screen of his phone, and .. was heard something that instantly made the veins around Sera's neck stiffen. The fist in one hand was getting stronger, while his eyes had naturally sharpened staring at the figure of Jasmine who was now smiling sumringah.
Apparently, Jasmine had possessed something so great. A weapon that could destroy the life he was trying to get back was fine. Somehow the story goes, the girl is now listening to her recording a conversation between herself and Jeffrey the other day. Everything, from beginning to end. Where Jeffrey repeatedly emphasized that Fabian is his own flesh and blood.
The sound coming out of the earphones no longer attracted Sera. The tiny thing he let go, then just thrown on the table in front of the owner.
"Do you want that tape?" tanyakanya.
Jasmine picked up her earphones with an even bigger smile. Instead of being afraid, he even put used earphones used by Sera to his own ears, enjoying the family drama presented without difficulty he tried to find out.
"Java." Sera Tagih. Her patience was running out, so if Jasmine did not open her mouth, she would probably completely grab the girl's hair until she was bald.
But again, her patience was tested when Jasmine decided to finish the recording until it ran out before answering her question.
With laughter, Jasmine straightened her back. His two hands were clinging to each other on the table, while his body was slightly leaning forward as if wanting to challenge Sera.
"About ... what can Auntie give me to keep the tape from leaking to the public?" ask the girl.
Sera unhesitatingly replied, "Anything. Whatever you ask, I will give you. The money? A car? A home? The jewels? Just say, I'll prepare for you right now."
"Gee...." Jasmine again laughed. His back slammed into the chair along with his increasingly sober laughter, punctuated by a standing ovation that then made some cafe visitors devote attention to him. "Tante doesn't want that Baskara knows?"
"Leave the nominal, Jasmine, don't let my patience run out." Sera Threat.
Jasmine pretended to be afraid of hearing the threat. But a moment later, he smiled cunningly. "Should have been, Auntie spoke in a more friendly way to me. Because ... Aunt position is not at all profitable now. I can still leak this footage without asking Auntie for anything in return. I have nothing to lose."
"You're going to leak the tape right away without asking to see me, if you really don't want to ask for anything." Sera doesn't want to lose. The position may be unsafe, but maintaining self-esteem, especially in front of children like Jasmine is still the number one priority.
Slowly, Sera advanced her body, her eyes fixedly staring at Jasmine's figure. "Say what you want, I'll give you right now. Let's make it easy, girl."
Jasmine's smile slowly faded, her facial expression became even more serious now. "whatever?" tanyakanya.
Sera nodded confidently. "Anything."
Jasmine pretended to think hard, when in fact she had prepared everything she wanted to ask Sera. Then, not knowing himself, he said, "One luxury apartment unit with complete facilities, a new car unit, and. Is that overkill?"
Sera. There is nothing superfluous for him if his affairs are material. "There again?" tanyakanya.
"Baskara-"
"Not with Baskara." Cut Sera, warn. "Begging for anything, as much as anything, other than Baskara."
Jasmine looked to sigh. "I just want to say, please get Baskara and her friends away from a girl named Sabiru. I don't like him, that's it."
"OK," Sera immediately agreed. "Everything you ask for will be available in three days."
Jasmine smiled brightly. "Thank you, Aunt." Her speech.
Sera did not chimed in, and instead immediately got up from the chair. "You make sure the crumbs are safe until everything you want is realized. If it gets leaked, your life's at stake."
"As long as Auntie doesn't break the promise of what I'm asking for, I'll also make sure this tape is safe." Jasmine got up from the chair. Then the girl thrust her hand at Sera, who of course was only glimpsed at a glance by the woman and then ignored.
"One more thing, please keep your distance from Baskara. My son is not comfortable with you," that was the last sentence Sera said before she passed from Jasmine's presence.
Arriving outside the cafe, Sera pulled out her phone to contact someone. "I want you to take care of one more person,"
