The twilight is faster than usual. The sun that was from noon did not get part of the ration to shine bright finally returned to the contest, laying down with the tired of the humans who all day he observed various activities from behind the powerful cloud.
On the balcony of the room, Fabian sat facing the street, looking at the shady trees that thrived on the edge of the middle road winding in the wind. The rain had already subsided since half an hour ago, leaving behind a distinctive scent of wet soil that in an instant had mastered the young man's sense of smell since he had sat in place a few minutes ago.
Behind him, more precisely in the middle of the balcony door that opened wide, Baskara sat berselonjor. His body slightly receded backwards with both arms on which he rested. His gaze was the same, thrown far ahead even though he could see was a white barrier that was the height of an adult stomach.
The sky above them was gray, completely engulfing the orange color that had stopped by despite looking hesitant. And until now, Baskara still has no intention to return home. His father and mother may not have finished discussing it, or they may not have done it at all.
Fabian himself did not mind Baskara here. Because ever since the young man came, he no longer heard the commotion made by his mother. Or perhaps, his mother had deliberately become calmer because she had promised a death instead.
When the second possibility came to his head, Fabian revealed a subtle smile. Perhaps, his life must end as soon as possible, so that the mother can live life more sane and happy.
"Gue is actually running away from home" I suddenly broke Fabian's daydreams of what he had to choose to end his life.
Fabian turned the chair so he could look at Baskara who had just opened his voice. He found that the young man was now sitting cross-legged, with both hands clinging to each other on his thighs.
"So early in the morning, just as I was going to have breakfast and squirm there was Papa at the dinner table, I suddenly thought of one thing." Baskara looked up, so that their gazes met on one invisible line. "What if it turns out that Mama and Papa are just being nice for fear of getting hurt? Then, I finally revealed anything that had been my anxiety."
"Continue?" ask Fabian. He was fully attentive, not releasing eye contact at all while waiting for Baskara's lips to open again.
"Gue .. ask them to discuss whether their marriage can continue or not. I just ... think that divorce might not be that bad. Who knows, right, with a divorce, their relationship can actually be better? Yes, at least, they may be able to carry out their roles as a father and mother as they should."
"Is he ready?" asked Fabian, after it was felt that Baskara no longer intended to add anything after.
Basqueen sniffed his shoulders. Because honestly, he himself did not know whether the divorce decision that his parents might take could he accept freely. "Everybody not ready, still have to live when the time has come, right?"
The gray clouds above them grew darker, the street lights began to turn on and drizzle back down along with the breaths of Baskara and Fabian who exhaled slowly and were mutually modest.
...****************...
The time Baskara gave Sera and Jeffrey to discuss in fact was not used by the two human children at all. Instead of chatting in order to get the best middle ground for the problems that are happening, they instead separate themselves as far as possible.
Jeffrey locked himself in the study, busy arguing with himself about the plans he had laid out in his head, whether it should be carried out or he mengantungkan in order to keep his son Baskara from the endless pain. He felt wrong, because both Baskara and Fabian were his children, his flesh and blood, and he did not want to sacrifice one of them.
Jeffrey doesn't want a divorce. He still loves Sera and Baskara as much as he did in the past when he did not know Fabian's whereabouts. He just ... wanted to give a little bit of the rights that Fabian should have received. The right to be loved and financed directly by himself, a cowardly man who has run away from responsibility for more than twenty years.
Jeffrey just wanted to give Fabian a decent life, so that the boy would stop feeling that his birth was completely unwanted. He also wants to free Raya from fear, which always comes close to the shadow of Sera who always haunts. Really, Jeffrey just wanted to get them all there at a safe point. Be it Sera, Baskara, Raya or Fabian.
While Jeffrey racked his brain to find a way to save them all, Sera let herself dissolve in all the bad feelings in his chest. He sat alone in the corner of the room. No tears fell, his facial expression also seemed flat to someone who was carrying such a huge burden on his shoulders.
Sera's desire to create a happy whole family is still as great as yesterday. Because according to him, only that can make Baskara happy.
The boy could have told himself he would accept whatever decision he and Jeffrey might make. But Baskara remained his flesh and blood, growing in his womb for nine months, he took it everywhere before it was born. Sera knew very well that Baskara was actually terrified. The crybaby was afraid of losing his father forever because of a divorce. So, Sera will not manifest those fears. He will not divorce Jeffrey, and will make the man back into his former figure, somehow.
Even if he had to completely eliminate Fabian and his mother from this world, and turn himself into a sinner. Sera doesn't mind, she will do anything for her son.
