Wagering
Trapped by Storm

It was never imagined by Fabian that Sabiru and a box of egg martabak were the perfect blend to get through a rainy night without fear.

Because, for years, the rainy night was a scourge for Fabian, who always managed to make him wake up in the middle of the night with a state of body shivering cold.

As the rain came down and the thunderous thunder shook deafeningly, Fabian would recall the wound on her left chest many times more than on her usual days. Rain and storms always bring back nightmares that he has painstakingly pushed out of his head, and that sucks.

But now, along with Sabiru and a box of eggs that have more than half of them greedy, thunderbolts outside no longer even sound creepy.

Sabiru was like a lantern, carrying light in the midst of darkness that almost drowned an Arkafabian to the bottom of the world.

"You know, what do I hate most about rainstorms?"

Fabian turned towards Blue who was hanging on the bed. There was a crust of martabak skin on the corner of the girl's lips, making Fabian's hand immediately reflexively pick up the crumbs then he threw it into the trash can that he deliberately pulled closer to the side of the bed.

"What?" fabian asked after refocusing his attention on Blue.

"Dead off the electricity" replied Blue, then he fed another piece of egg hammer.

The oil from the hammerhead he held with his hands was disturbing, and apparently he was too lazy to move a little towards the nightstand to pluck a piece of tissue.

So, not knowing himself, he rubbed his hands full of oil into the sleeve of Fabian's shirt so as to make the risky young man clap his hands rough.

"Aw! Pain, anjir!" Blue squealing.

"Yes you're insolent! Said my shirt lap times,"

Being scolded even makes Blue tickle. Let alone apologies, the intention to admit that he was wrong did not exist at all.

Aware there was nothing he could expect from a Sabiru, Fabian chose to lift his butt from the edge of the mattress, only for him to rest again not until two seconds later after snatching three sheets of tissue.

Then, grabbed by Blue's hand, painstakingly rubbed the remaining oil container until it was completely clean.

"Leputin," he said after finishing wiping Blue's hand and throwing used tissue into the trash. "Why did it turn off the lights? Are you afraid of the dark? Or because it's hot because the AC is off?"

Blue shook slowly. "Gue is not afraid of the dark, not afraid of overheating because AC is dead."

"Continue?"

"Gue ... is afraid that suddenly it will cry." Blue lips thinned, his gaze turned bright as his manic fell on the fingers of his own hand that was above his lap.

The atmosphere that was still bright in the middle of the storm that was mercilessly hit to make noise outside the window, now turned cloudy. A cloudy Fabian was very familiar with, for this feeling he also had and nurtured for many years.

Silence circled around them for a while, until then Blue raised her head and forced a smile that did not even reach her two eyes.

"Gue likes to miss my parents when they are out of power. You see, they must have run straight to my room just to say that the dark is not at all scary, as well as giving reassurance that they will remain beside me until the lights are on again,"

At this point, Fabian finally knew that his guess was never wrong. Sabiru is a lonely girl, just like her.

"But now you can't anymore, because it's a different world hehe..."

"They did," Fabian said after throwing his gaze towards the balcony door. Because the look on Blue's face was too sad for him to look at this time. "They are always there to take care of you" he continued.

Like how he believed that at least Raya also loved him even though it was only once in her lifetime, Fabian also wanted Blue to believe that her parents had never been anywhere. Their bodies may die, their forms may no longer be seen, but their souls remain to be with their loved ones.

"They're still here, Blue. To make sure the girls are okay," and will not be heartbroken like a jerk like me.

And hopefully, that last sentence Fabian whispered to himself was heard by God. Hopefully he and Blue won't go any further, to hurt each other in the future.

...****************...

Half an early morning, the rain still hasn't subsided. Fabian was already sleepy on the sofa in the middle room of the apartment owned by Blue. While the owner of the house was cool to chew gum while watching a drama series through the big television in front of them.

"When does the rain stop, Anjir? Here I want to go home," whined Fabian, exactly a boy who whined to his mother to be taken home immediately because he was tired of visiting people's homes.

Contrary to Fabian who was almost emotional because of the rain that fell today as if he could not immediately go home, Blue instead remained relaxed. As if accommodating a man he had only known for a few days in his apartment with an injured leg condition is not a big problem.

"I don't think it's going to go away, deh." Blue said as he turned towards Fabian who had appeared tired face. "Nginep aja," he proposed later, only to get him rewarded with a blow to the head.

Blue believes that the head is one of the most sacred parts of the body that should not be touched by everyone let alone hit. So when Fabian lightly flung the blow to his head, he retaliated by kicking Fabian's body until the young man fell to the hard floor.

The bad news is that the foot he used to kick Fabian was his injured leg. Instead of being satisfied, he grimaced in pain.

While Fabian had to struggle to get up from the floor and had to undo his intention to nag when he found Blue grimacing in pain while holding his ankle.

In plain sight, there is no visible wound. But based on how strongly Blue kicked him earlier, Fabian knew that the pain Blue suffered was definitely not playing.

To be honest, Fabian was already very tired. He is sleepy, and his energy has been drained a lot to do things since his arrival to the Blue apartment a few hours ago. So if he had to carry Blue to the room so that the girl could rest, it felt like Fabian could no longer.

But as a man in charge, he did it anyway. Blue body after successfully collecting the remnants of energy that has been scattered everywhere.

"Emang really do not sleep," he said as he walked with Blue held him.

Tears still flowed down Blue's cheeks as Fabian lowered his body on the bed. And when Fabian's hand moved to touch his ankle, Blue's cry broke even more.

It was another panic for Fabian. He thought, the movement of his hand had made the pain that Blue suffered even worse.

"It hurts, huh?" tanyanya panic. And he just got a nod in response.

"Duh, dude, I'm looking for ice cubes first in the fridge." Fabian was about to turn around, but Blue instead held his arm so that he would inevitably have to undo the intention.

"What?" ask her to Blue whose nose is now reddened by crying.

"Don't go anywhere, please.." great-grandson Blue.

"Just go to the kitchen for a moment, take an ice cube to compress your legs."

But Blue shakes. "Can ... hug me anyway?" suddenly doors.

"Well?!" Fabian half yelled. The next moment, he felt guilty. It seemed, the punch he landed on Blue's head was too tight that it left some parts in this girl's brain scattered.

After wiping the clear liquid coming out of his nostrils using the sleeves of the shirt, Blue again said, "First, if I'm hurt again, nyokap I like to hug so that the pain quickly disappear."

"But I'm not nyokap lo?"

"Well, I guess I don't exist!" who had been crying sobbing, Blue had in an instant returned to ferocious mode. "It's just you now, so what's wrong with you helping me? You have nothing to lose."

"It's not a loss or a loss" Fabian said. The Blue hand that was still holding her arm she let go forcibly. "The thing is, outside the storm, and we're just alone here. And you ask me to make a hug? What the hell is on your mind, Sabiru? You're not afraid of me anything?"

"Lo wouldn't dare,"

"Who said?"

"I said," Blue moved slowly justifying his sitting position so as not to aggravate the pain in his ankle. "If you want to mess around, you must have been lo lasalin from earlier."

"Lo will never know what's in my head" Fabian sneered a little. Instead of being happy with Blue's confidence, he felt concerned. Because, how would it be if the Blue one is talking right now is not him?

It was nothing, nor did he want to boast about himself, but among the friends and circle around them, Fabian was confident enough to say that his self-control was good enough.

In fact, among all the members of Pain Killer, only he has no interest in sleeping with the girls they come across so often, either on the Mega or on any ongoing betting agenda.

"Not a lot of talk, Bi." Blue interrupts. "If you don't want to help, mending your mouth is silent."

It seems like the decision to accept a deal with this girl is the most stupid move Fabian has ever taken. Because in an instant, he had forgotten how to refuse.

His body that was originally standing towered on the side of the mattress suddenly collapsed, falling sitting on the edge of the mattress along with his two outstretched arms reaching for Blue's small body.

"Lo don't try to ask kayak gini to another guy," he whispered as he patted quietly Blue's back.

"Why?"

"Not much to ask." Fabian's tone began to change a little. "Lo never knew how wild it was to fill a man's head, Bi. So do not try to fish, just for the sake of ngetes how tough you can defend yourself."

There is no sentence that comes out. Blue lips locked tightly, and he began to regret one more thing that he decided today.

In fact, he deliberately dramatized the pain in his ankle, telling himself that the pain was so severe that his tears could fall so he could ask to be hugged by Fabian. So that he can make Fabian have more access, so it is easier for him to convince Fabian that their relationship will not be just a matter of betting.

But it ended up being slapped. Because once again, he found a good side in Fabian. The side that was inversely proportional to that bastard Baskara, whom he had cursed hundreds of times in the head.
