Dwarf
10. Back to Tell

Raina ran through the quiet and deserted streets towards her house as she occasionally looked back trying to make sure that Puang Tuo did not follow her.

Raina stopped her running with a breath of excitement. Both of his lips opened trying to find a supply of air that had been restrained.

Someone patted her from behind suddenly making Raina turn her head quickly.

"Yeah!!!" his screams.

Raina closed her eyes and made the basin of wet clothes crumple to the ground.

"Well!" saoda shouted, surprised as well.

Raina opened her eyes staring in shock at Saoda who was now still looking at her seriously.

"What's wrong? Why are you yelling?"

Raina gulped her saliva. He looked back towards the back.

"Well!" calling Saoda made Raina turn her head.

"What's wrong?"

"There's nothing" he answered.

Raina grabbed the basin that had fallen to the ground and then she looked back to make Saoda follow staring in which direction Raina turned. Raina looked back at Saoda and walked away from Saoda who was now silent with a flat face.

...****...

The atmosphere tonight is as usual. Dinner together accompanied by an artificial candle light that became a light. Raina lifted her dirty dishes and she got up to the kitchen. He put dirty dishes and used glasses on a dishwasher that is based on bamboo stems so that the water can go directly down without the need to make a pipe line.

"Indo!"

Saoda.

"Raina sleeps first, dad!"

Saoda nodded making Raina step inside her room.

"Don't want to sleep with Indo?" saoda asked in a cold tone of voice.

"No, Indo," she refused with a frightened face.

How-to?

Not long after Raina's steps stopped. He got a plan. Raina can't sleep tonight, she has to see how Saoda gets out of the house and what he's doing out there.

But how can he see Saoda while he now decides to sleep apart. Raina stepped up, grabbed a rusty nail that was under her old mattress and sat in the corner of the room with a nervous and trembling face.

Raina let out a long sigh with both of her eyes closed. I hope he is not found out. Raina slowly pierced the surface of the board that had paved and produced a small hole there.

The board that became the border between his room and the adjoining room of Saoda. From the small hole that he was still piercing it hopefully can show what Saoda did in the room.

The sound of footsteps heard along with the sound of Raina's room door moving along made Raina quickly turn her head with both eyes rounded in surprise.

Saoda will open the door to his room!

The door opened making Saoda now smile looking at Raina who is now lying on her bed.

"What's up, Indo?" ask Raina.

Saoda shook his head and smiled.

"Sleep!" he then closed the door again.

Raina breathed a sigh of relief. He sat on his bed and opened his fist that was holding the rusty nail. Raina got up from the bed with a way to settle into the corner of the room where she had been perforated.

Raina sat leaning back while touching her chest that was pounding incoherently. His body was also cold hot almost frozen.

Raina closed her eyes. Hopefully tonight he will not be negligent and make him fall asleep like yesterday. Today he has to prove that Saoda is not a creature that people call Parakang.

The sound of the bed board sounding next to her made Raina turn her head. He brought his eyes closer to the gap until Saoda who was laying his body on the mattress was seen. The atmosphere of the room had gone completely dark after Saoda blew the artificial wax wick and placed it on the wooden table.

Raina swallows her saliva. Is what he's doing right or is what he's doing wrong?

Raina adjusted her irregular breathing. He kept his face away from the wall and hugged his knees that were sore with fear.

The sound of owls perched and flew from tree to roof of the house making Raina occasionally jerked in surprise. Raina covered her mouth quickly with her right hand trying not to make a sound.

The sound of bamboo friction growing on the edge of the forest rang out in the silence of the night. The sound of a dog fighting along out there makes Raina occasionally turn towards the window of her tightly closed room.

In this room there is no light that becomes a light for Raina who is still trying to withstand her drowsiness. This time he could not sleep, he had to hold his eyelids that were almost closed because of drowsiness.
