15. Wound

The sunlight seemed timid to publish its rays on this sunny morning. The sound of birds chirping sounded as it flew from twig to twig.

The sunlight that made up for the porous slit of the board hit Raina's eyelids that were still asleep on her mattress. Raina's forehead shriveled as she felt a glare making her sleep disturbed.

"Huh!!!" raina who suddenly got up and sat down from her bed.

His two eyes were rounded with breathless breathing and his heart beating very fast. Last night's events still stuck in Raina's mind.

Raina held her head and rubbed it slowly. Raina looked around her room which was so quiet

Raina let out a heavy sigh until her eyes turned to look at the door of the room after hearing the busy sound of the kitchen, it seemed like Saoda was cooking there.

Raina folded her lips trying not to grimace as she tried to lower both her legs from the bed.

Raina grimaced, she clasped her bed sheet tightly as she tried to stand up. As her legs tightened onto the board instantly Raina could feel the pain on her pulsating soles nonstop.

Raina bit her lips with her breath held back the pain. Raina's legs shook as Raina tried to stand up straight....

Raina's body crashed onto the board as she was no longer able to stand. Raina grimaced in pain as she touched her feet which was clearly visible to the nested spines.

"Yourselfish!!!" saoda's shout made Raina look up at Saoda who was now standing in front of him.

Saoda runs up to Raina and helps her stand up and sits on the edge of the mattress making Raina's body tremble in fear. He looked at Saoda's worried face.

"You why?" ask Saoda.

Raina was silent. He looked at Saoda's face seriously. At first glance the story of last night where Saoda who floated into the air and turned into a figure of Parakang imagined in Raina's mind.

Was last night a dream or was it a reality?

"What's the matter, Raina?" saoda's slightly raised tone made Raina flinch in shock.

Raina did not answer making Saoda clasped Saoda's ankle and looked at him a moment ago he looked up to look at Raina's face that looked still frightened.

"What's wrong with your leg? Why are your feet full of thorns?"

Raina did not reply, she just fell silent like a mute person. What she had to say, it was impossible for Raina to answer honestly and say if this thorn she got when she chased after the Saoda that was already shaped like a Parakang.

"Well!" calling Saoda made Raina flinch in shock.

"Yes?"

"Why are you silent? What are you thinking?"

Raina shook her head slowly while smiling.

"Oh, look! Your palm is also injured and bleeding?"

Raina lowered her head, she smiled faintly as Saoda showed her injured and bloody palm.

Raina could only stare silently at Saoda who was now squeezing the small cloth she had soaked into the small basin of warm water she had prepared.

Saoda rubbed it on Raina's soles making Raina grimace in pain.

"It's okay! This is really sick. What did you do to get this many thorns?"

"Sorry, Indo. Yesterday Raina went to the u-u forest to find firewood and after that there were two dogs chasing and I ran away and saw no thorns and I stepped on them," raina clearly in a slow tone.

Raina now nods to let Saoda remove the thorn from the soles of her feet with resignation though she grimaces at times withstanding the pain in the soles of her feet.

Raina was now speechless looking at Saoda who was so attentive to her. Raina does not know whether she should be angry, dear or hateful to Saoda who has been an enemy of the villagers.
