Dwarf
5. Tell

Raina sat up against the wall of the house staring at the door of Saoda's room which was still tightly closed. Raina's mind was still pointing at one thing. Why did Saoda behave strangely at dawn and why his body always did not wear the slightest clothes when he came home then why his body could smell fishy stinging.

Raina looked down and then not long after Raina's gaze looked up to look at the door of the room that opened showing the figure of Saoda who looks smiling staring at Raina.

Only the smile he gave after that he stepped away to the kitchen as his usual every morning cooking.

Raina grabbed the grocery basket and stepped her foot down the stairs. The small cobblestone road squeezed by the forest and the garden did not stop and undo his intention to go to the market. Lonely and quiet while going to the market was common for Raina.

Raina's house from the village settlement is a bit far away and Raina also does not understand why Saoda remains in the house. Actually, the garden place was the house of the villagers but as time went on they all moved and left Saoda's own house.

Raina stopped her steps looking in shock at the white cloth fluttering as the wind moved her.

White again?

Who else died today?

Raina again stepped on her feet as her gaze stared at the people who were crying. This house is the house of the village chief then who died?

"Pour!" call Raina and run over to the old man who is seen carrying a hoe on his shoulder.

The old man named Ambo turned his head and smiled looking at Raina who ran up to him.

"Why, Son?"

"Pour Ambo, who died?"

"Oh, that's his mother the village man who died."

"Why can?"

"She was eaten with Parakang."

Raina's eyes were rounded in shock after hearing the reply from Puang Ambo. That name again became the reason for someone's death. Yesterday the wife and son of Edi and now the mother of the village chief died.

Daeng Ambo set his foot to leave Raina who was still silent with a feeling of shock and did not expect it.

Raina turned her back to look at the crowd under the blue tent whispering to each other and was talking about the creature named Parakang.

Raina continued her steps with a feeling that was still confused and filled with question marks.

Raina's steps became slow as she passed an old mosque where a bearded man was sweeping in the courtyard of the mosque. He was Puang Tuo who supposedly said the people he was a man who used to be a Parakang hunter.

Raina was silent for a moment. It was possible that Puang Tuo knew about the creature named Parakang.

Raina approached and stopped her steps in front of Puang Tuo who slowly turned her head to look at Raina from the tip of her foot to the tip of Raina's hair. This was the first time Raina had seen Puang Tuo at such a close distance.

"Who's looking, son?" asked Puang Tuo with a friendly face.

Raina tried to smile even though she hesitated to do so. Is this right to ask him.

"I want to find Puang Tuo."

Puang Tuo was silent in astonishment. The second time he stared from toe to toe Raina's hair then he did not smile for a long time.

"I'm Pung Tuo, son. What's the need?"

Raina turned her head left and right trying to make sure no one in this place would hear her words.

"I want to ask about Parakang," he replied making Puang Tuo a little surprised.

Puang Tuo looked back at the mosque then looked back at Raina who looked seriously at Puang Tuo.

"Let's talk inside!" take him and he steps towards the mosque after Raina nods.

Raina sat on the floor of the mosque which was so clean and fragrant. This is the first time Raina has set foot on the floor of the mosque. Raina looked up at Puang Tuo who was seen carrying a plate of fried bananas and placed it on the floor. Puang Tuo sat down and smiled.

"Please eat!"

Raina simply nodded and swallowed her saliva in nervousness.

"Why do you want to know about Parakang?"

Pung Tuo smiled then he grabbed the fried banana and ate it.

"The parachute is not a ghost but it resembles a ghost."

Raina looked up at Puang Tuo who was speaking in the middle of silence.

"Show does a ghost look like that?"

"The origin of Parakang is a person who uses reading for something or a certain purpose but because he mispronounced reading to cause someone to become Parakang."

"Reads are vast, these readings are sometimes used for beauty, wealth but because he is mispronounced so he transformed into a creature called Parakang."

"Parakang can also occur because of a curse from someone or because of his own will to become Parakang."

"How's it going?"

Pung Tuo gulped down his coffee and paused for a moment as if he was thinking about something while Raina quietly waited for an answer.

"If his features are erratic."

"I mean, Puang?"

"It depends on the person. If the person has long hair, the Paraknya will also have long hair."

"If it is a matter of form, it still walks with both feet and hands. His back will be higher than his head with both sharp eyes."

Raina gulped her saliva after hearing some info from Puang Tuo. So horrible.

"The parachute can also change its shape into an animal like a cat and can even become a banana tree."

"Banana tree?"

"Yes, but this banana tree will look different from the banana tree in general. If later you see a banana tree that stands alone and leaves only three leaves then do not approach the tree because he can kill just by putting his body into someone's body."

"Why can that dao kill, Puang Tuo?"

"Many reasons and one of them is revenge."

"Revenge?"

"Yes and what's more likely is that there are some people who don't realize they're being a retard."

"Before the sun rises, he will wake up and find himself in a place without clothes."

Raina was startled after hearing what Puang Tuo had just explained. What he said everything happened to Saoda but is this true.

Raina let out a long sigh and shook her head as if rejecting all of these things. How could the person who raised him be a Prakakang.

Not likely.

Raina got up from the floor of the mosque and let her feet go away leaving Puang Tuo who was now looking up looking at Raina confusedly.

"Where are you going?" ask Puang Tuo.

Raina's steps stopped. She looked back and tried to smile, trying to hide her nervousness.

"I want to go home, Puang. Thanks for the information."

Raina turned her back and stepped away from Puang Tuo who was now rising from the floor.

"Do you know about that creature with Parakang?" tanya Puang Tuo made Raina's steps stop.

Raina's face was pale with her trembling body. Raina again stepped her foot trying to avoid the question from Puang Tuo.

Puang Tuo sighed, his two eyes still seriously staring at Raina's departure.

"It looks like the boy is hiding something" he said as he stared at Raina's departure, who occasionally looked back. To be honest Raina was afraid that Puang Tuo was chasing after her because he felt suspicious.
