64. Cambodian Flowers

The white and red frangipani flowers fell adorning the still wet grave after being washed with a bottle of water.

Today was the day of the burial of two people at once without any interference from the villagers. Puang Dodi who likes tiasa helps the burial process from the excavation of the grave to the memorizing part.

Saoda sat speechless with a pale and faint face. Both of his eyes were swollen with dry lips. The five-year-old girl had never had a drink. I don't know why he has no taste, even thirst is no longer able to feel. The pain in his heart had grabbed all his attention.

Tuo who had been sowing frangipani flowers on the tomb was now glancing at Saoda. Since then, the little girl has been silent with her blank look. Tuo had no idea what Saoda was thinking but Tuo was sure that the girl was only thinking about her parents and her fate that would happen to her later.

Tuo knew what it would be like to lose a loved one and that was also what Tuo felt when he lost his Indonya figure two years ago due to illness.

At that moment Tuo's heart really hurt. Before his death Indonya Tuo was a spoiled child and spent more time playing, but after the death of Indonya Tuo was now a child who was diligent in working and chose to stop playing together with his peers.

According to Tuo, Indonya's death is also the death of his taste. There is no place to be spoiled until he decides to become a child who diligently works, such as planting rice, cutting rice, herding milk buffalo Father and participate in selling firewood at the city border.

Although not every day he gets money, but at least he can ease the burden of his father.

For Tuo, it was fine that his childhood full of games just disappeared. The most important thing for Tuo was that he did not trouble his Father.

Living in the midst of new people that even family relationships do not exist is indeed uncomfortable and it will also certainly make pressure and burden for Saoda.

Tuo turned his head to look at Puang Dodi who was slowly elbowing Tuo's arm.

"What's wrong with her?" whispered Puang Dodi made Tuo turn to look at Saoda who looked silent.

Tuo turned his head back to look at his Father who was seen paying attention to the figure of Saoda.

"I don't know either."

"Try me!"

Tuo turned his head to look at the little girl who was just silent like a statue.

"I don't want him to be angry" he refused.

"Why should you be angry? We're officially becoming his new family."

"Then you ask."

Puang Dodi sighed. Just now that he wanted to push his son closer to Saoda, Tuo instead got up and sat down beside Indonya's grave.

Puang Dodi was silent for a moment. He glanced at Saoda and shifted to get closer to the little girl.

"Eh, Saoda!"

There's no answer. Saoda was still speechless with various thoughts filling his brain.

"Soda!" call Puang Dodi while touching Saoda's shoulder which is now turned.

The two reddened eyes looked up at Puang Dodi who now looked smiling. He tries to try to melt the atmosphere but Saoda is silent like a statue.

Saoda was back down. He prefers to gently touch the frangipani flower group with the tip of his hand. He quietly enjoyed a soft touch from the surface of the flower petals that felt soft.

Puang Dodi poked her lips. He turned his head to look at Tuo who was now seen holding back his laughter while covering his mouth with his hands.

Puang Dodi sighed. He grabbed the frangipani flowers that had been touched by Saoda since then made the little girl turn to look at the direction where the frangipani flowers were brought by Puang Dodi.

"I know, Son. I know how you feel now."

"I can't forbid you not to grieve like this either."

"Indo and my Father were also dead even when I was a baby and I was only cared for by my Grandmother who also died ten years ago."

"I know what it's like, son. It hurts, it's definitely what I feel. And tears can no longer be held back."

"I used to be just like you when my grandmother died. I'm so lost in grief that I don't care about everyone."

"I hate everyone in this world and wish I could die as well after the departure of both my parents and Grandma."

"All I think about is one. What would I live for if everyone who used to be with me was gone."

"I'm just here alone. Even though I was an adult by then but I couldn't live without Grandma."

"Only Grandma did I have while both my parents even had their faces forgotten."

"I feel like I'm the worst person in the world."

"I choose to die, but I don't know how to die."

Puang Dodi now sighed. He glanced at Saoda who looked at him as if so very seriously hearing his story.

"I intend to kill myself by jumping on heights but I'm afraid of heights."

"I intended to kill myself by stabbing me in the stomach with a knife, but unfortunately I was afraid of blood."

"I finally ordered him to commit suicide by drinking poison, but unfortunately I didn't have the money to buy poison."

Tuo giggled after hearing the story from his Father. For him the story he had heard ten times always made him laugh.

Saoda laughed but not for long the sound of laughter was changed into a crying sound. Even now he cannot laugh. Puang Dodi let out a long sigh. la grabbed Saoda's shoulder and gently stroked it.

"Cry, son! After crying you'll feel better."

"You know, son. I finally decided to live as usual. If I miss then I will come to see the graves of both my parents and my Grandma."

"I lived my life as it was and I finally met a woman. We're finally married and I have one son."

"Well, there it is!" Pue Puang Dodi towards Tuo who was now smiling.

"He was white when he was a baby, but ever since he's been herding buffaloes now he's almost as black as a buffalo."

Saoda laughed gigglingly. He turned to look at Tuo who was now even silently pouting.

Mrs Dodi laughed.

"Look at him now pouting like a buffalo!" Show Puang Dodi.
