6. Plan

Raina's two eyes stared blankly as she walked towards the house, her mind still thinking about what Puang Tuo said to her. But what could be Saoda is a Parakang. During the market he heard people talking about Parakang and the death of the mother of the village chief.

Raina put the basket up the stairs and opened the pitcher filled with water. He grabbed the dipper and watered his not-so-dirty feet like yesterday. Well today it does not rain so the road is not too muddy even though the rest of the rain yesterday is still there.

Raina was silent for a moment making her heart beat very fast for what but obviously the feeling became strange in this second as well.

The sound of the movement of the bamboo tree that was blown by the wind was rubbing against Raina with a pale and scared face. Raina's heart beat very fast as she could feel something approaching her from behind.

"Well!"

Raina's two eyes widened as someone touched her shoulder. The hand felt cold like ice making Raina breath tight. Raina glanced slowly making her able to feel the black figure behind her.

"Yeah!!!" jerrit Raina.

Raina jumped trying to run but her body crashed into the stairs. He fell down and made his shopping cart scatter down the wooden stairs.

"Yahoo!!!" raina screams trying to stay away from the cold hand.

"Yuranoooo!!!" saoda shouted, now shaking both shoulders of Raina who was still screaming in fear.

"Don't touch!!!"

"Raina! Conscious!!! It's Indo!!!" her screams made Raina fall silent.

He opened his eyes and looked palely at Saoda who was now looking at him in confusion.

Raina turned her head left and right trying to look for that black shadow figure that had managed to make her almost a heart attack.

"Why?"

Raina sighed then shook her head. His fear led him to his bad thoughts.

"Why, Son?" ask Saoda.

Raina took a breath and shook her head. He grabbed some groceries lying on the ground and put them in a basket.

Raina smiled, but she did not look into Saoda's eyes and she stepped on the steps leaving Saoda who was now silent staring at Raina's departure.

...****************...

Raina sat hugging her knees staring at Saoda who was now busy cooking in the kitchen. Is he really a duke or is that the wrong thing about his opinion. How could Saoda be a Parakang.

Raina shook her head slowly trying to get rid of her bad thoughts. There is no way his Grandma is a Parakang who has been troubling the citizens all this time.

Saoda is a good man.

"Indo!"

Saoda turned his head, he looked at Raina for a moment and then returned busy stirring the vegetables that had been boiling.

"Indo!"

"Why?"

"Tonight I'm sleeping with Indo, yeah, Indo?"

"Why your room?"

Raina bowed for a moment with her sad face. He rubbed his arm that felt goosebumps for nothing.

"I'm scared, Indo."

"Fear of who?"

"Parakang?" asked Saoda who was now looking at Raina who was slowly nodding.

Saoda laughed as if hearing Raina's utterance as if a joke.

"You believe Parakang?"

"No idea, Indo."

"Don't believe in something for which there is no proof."

"But Indo from the village chief died. Puang Ambo said he died because Parakang ate."

Saoda was silent and Raina got up from her seat and stepped into her room.

Saoda turned to look at Raina's departure making Saoda refocus on her vegetables. Not long after the sound of steps was heard making Saoda turn to look at Raina who is now stepping out of the room while carrying a holster that he often uses to sleep.

"We slept together, well, Indo."

Without waiting for an answer from Saoda now Raina stepped into the room and laid her body on the mattress that had been on the pedestal with a towel.

Raina's gaze stared at the wall of the old room that had been eaten by age. Raina closed her eyes feeling a silent and peaceful sensation in the night.

The sound of dog barking sounds earthy accompanied by the sound of chanting crickets that have always been a night companion for Raina.

The sound of footsteps could be heard approaching, Raina could hear it clearly. Raina's eyes were closed but her sense of hearing was still functioning, she was not one hundred percent asleep.

Raina's heart beat very fast as a hot air approached her, I don't know what it was. Raina couldn't see it because she still closed her eyes.

The sound of the board that sounded because it was pressed made Raina's body tremble.

Who'sis that? A question that managed to come up when he felt scared.

Raina's two eyes opened making her wide in shock staring at the black face that was right before her face.

"Huh!!!" startled Raina who quickly distanced her face from the face that was now looking at her astonishedly towards him.

"What's wrong?" ask Saoda who is now astonished.

Raina breathed a sigh of relief. That face turned out to be Saoda's face. Raina shook her head slowly accompanied by a sigh of relief, not the ghost that was in front of her but she was Saoda.

"You scared?"

Raina nodded slowly.

"Why are you afraid?"

"I thought it was a ghost."

Saoda smiled for a moment and said, "There are no ghosts."

Raina did not reply, she looked at Saoda who was now laying her body beside Raina who was now silent. This time Raina will really try to find out how Saoda can go out at night and go home at dawn without wearing clothes and the smell of blood all over her body.

"What are you thinking?" asked Saoda who now turned her body to look at Raina who was immediately shocked after hearing the question from Saoda.

"No one" he answered nervously.

"Sleep!"

Raina nodded then quickly closed her eyes and not long after the sound of the bed board was heard making Raina open her eyes to look at Saoda's body which was now behind her.

Raina swallows her saliva, this time she can't sleep. He should be able to find answers to what has always weighed on his mind all this time.
