"Sir."
Puang Dodi was seen smiling for a moment then stepped back up the steps and sat beside Tuo who now chose to be quiet.
Puang Dodi touched Tuo's shoulder making Tuo turn to look at the face of his Father who had a little gray hair and wrinkles on his face that had sprung up.
He used to look fit, but now he is old because he has passed many obstacles of life whose days have improved because there is a figure of Saoda who is happy to take care of all the homework.
"What's up, son?" ask Puang Dodi.
Tuo shook his head for a moment. He smiled and then took a breath back.
"Are you bored?"
"Bored for what?"
"Because you don't have a companion?"
Tuo glanced at it then smiled slightly. He bowed and shook slowly.
"Then what?"
Tuo just kept quiet.
"I know, Son. Your life is not just like this. Like going to work and just going home from work. You're all grown up. It's time for you to get married and do you want to get married soon?"
"Married?"
"Yes. You want to, right get married?"
"But married to whom?"
Saoda who was intending to step away towards the kitchen instantly stopped his steps after hearing the sound of a conversation between Puang Dodi and Tuo.
Saoda now chooses to stay behind the door trying to hear the sound of their conversation.
"Of course, marry a woman and then marry who else?"
"But who would want to be with me?"
Puang Tuo let out a heavy sigh. He touched the shoulder of Tuo who was still sitting next to him.
"There are many unmarried village girls in this village."
"But not necessarily the village girls want to be with me, sir."
"Why don't they want to? It's a handsome guy and a hard worker, so of course there's a lot of girls who want to be with you."
"You haven't tried yet. If you tell the villagers that you want to find a future wife, they will come here to offer themselves."
Saoda distanced his ears that had been leaning on the surface of the door. His face was seen putting on a shocked face after hearing what Dodi said.
"Wife candidate?" panicked Saoda while touching his chest.
Well, Saoda felt very dislike if Dodi puang discussed about the future wife in front of Tuo. But does this mean Tuo wants to get married? The little man who used to be there for her and accompany her at all times will look for a future wife then what about her fate?
"I'm just not sure, sir. They all couldn't possibly want to be with me either," Tuo said, making Saoda draw her teliga back closer trying to hear their conversation that seemed to still be continuing.
"It seems that here are not the village girls who don't want to, but you who don't want to, son. Do you like a girl?"
Both of Tuo's eyes were rounded. With a surprised face he turned to look at Puang Dodi who was still looking at him with a smile.
Tuo was silent for a moment. He couldn't have said that he liked a girl and that she was Saoda. He did not want to make his father angry.
Yang Tuo knew Saoda was a woman who had been considered a child by Puang Dodi himself and he could not possibly destroy the relationship just because of his love for Saoda.
"Say, Son! What's the girl's name?"
Tuo fell silent and that was what Saoda was doing inside. He also silently waited for Tuo to say or name the girl Tuo liked.
I don't know what the cause is but Saoda doesn't like it and it feels like he really doesn't like it. If the girl's name is correct until it is called by Tuo then Saoda will not stay silent. Saoda seems unwilling if anyone has Tuo.
Saoda grew up with Tuo and his days were always passed with Tuo. Not willing if there are girls who approach Tuo later if they get married later.
"I-i"
"Say!"
Tuo turned his head to look at Tuo who looked so very heavy to say it.
"I don't like anyone," he said and then stepped away leaving Puang Dodi who was now seen remaining silent to see Tuo's departure.
Not long ago Puang Dodi looked to smile thinly. Puang Dodi did not get an answer from Tuo about who the girl he liked, but Puang Dodi had known everything.
Puang Dodi had figured out who the girl Tuo liked.
...****************...
Night approaching. Silent night susana and illuminated dinner activities with artificial fire light made from paint cans.
The atmosphere of the dinner now went on as usual, nothing different tonight. Saoda-made simple food has become a favorite food for Tuo.
After dinner, Saoda returned to his usual activities, washing his dinnerware.
Tuo who was intending to step inside the kitchen now stopped his steps when he saw the figure of Saoda sitting on a small stool while busy rubbing the dishes with a cloth.
Tuo glanced at the shape of Saoda's beautiful curves. A short-sleeved shirt with a batik glove that is always circular on his waist is seen to cover the thigh only up to the knee so that the thigh part looks a little.
Tuo gulped his saliva. I don't know the feeling that came to his mind but it felt like Tuo was craving Saoda's body.
Tuo closed his eyes and thinned away that desire. Not wanting to dissolve in a desire that he could not possibly fulfill Tuo immediately stepped away.
On one side now poang Dodi who was in the step tiller while smoking her cigarette could see Tuo from earlier. The guess was already very strong, if Tuo liked Saoda.
This is wrong. It is impossible to put two men and a girl in one house. Before anything bad happens, Puang Dodi must do something.
...****************...
"Sit in front of me!" pinta Puang Dodi who is now sitting on a chair makes Saoda and Tuo now glance at each other as if they do not understand what the purpose of pouring Dodi tells them to sit in front of Dodi's pot.
"Sit up!" He pointed and immediately turned off his cigarette on the ashtray made of clay.
Tuo and Saoda immediately sat down on the chair right in front of Dodi's pot which was now silent. Puang Dodi looked solemnly at Saoda and Tuo in turn while these two people looked astonished.
"Do you know what I'm trying to get you to sit in front of me like this?".
Saoda and Tuo compactly shook each other signaling they did not know.
"I want to ask you both."
