54. Sauteed Conch

"Is she crying?"

"Ah, no. I'm just afraid if she cries later if I hold her for too long."

Ria nodded and then re-chained her baby. Saoda could only smile. It has been a long time since he held a small baby. Now Saoda is five years old and it feels like Saoda can already have a sister.

The Thanksgiving event is going well. After the hair cutting and dining event together now the guests gradually reduced and returned to their respective homes.

Sambe stepped down the stairs. He wears footwear after a long time looking for his sandals that are separated from his partner after mixing with the sandals of the guests who had attended this Thanksgiving event.

Not long ago Sambe stepped with his gaze that now penetrated looking for the figure of Saoda that he had given a plate of rice with side dishes at this Thanksgiving event.

"Soda!!!" sambe shouted that made Bakri stop his running.

He touched Saoda's shoulder which was now running around while he was playing a chase.

"Soda!"

"Why?"

"Indo you call you. It seems like he already wants to go home," he made Saoda turn to look at Indonya who was now waving her hand towards Saoda.

"Come on!"

"Yes, Indo!!!" saoda shouted and looked at Bakri.

"I'll go home first, yeah! Greetings to your new sister!!!" yelling Saoda who now immediately ran away from Bakri who is now waving his hand towards Saoda who is still running towards Sambe.

Upon arrival Sambe directly held onto Saoda's shoulder and touched her cheek.

"What was the food you were eating?"

"Yes, Indo."

"good. You can't waste food."

"But many of my friends don't eat."

"They did it because they didn't know that food was hard to find. You can't waste food because Indo told you."

Saoda nodded and bowed as Sambe touched and clasped his fingers.

"Let's go home and cook the conch you and your dad were looking for last night!" take Sambe and then walk away.

"Will Indo cook that conch for me?"

"Yes, Son. Not just for me but for you too."

Saoda nodded. He smiled happily. It feels like he really has an Indo figure like Sambe who is so smart, kind and meek he said.

Little Saoda now hopes that she can grow up to be a smart woman like Sambe.

For Saoda to be the daughter of Sambe is the most beautiful gift of her life. Many of his friends who say if he wants to have an Indo figure like Sambe.

Honestly Saoda is proud to have an Indo like Sambe.

Daoda who had been silent since then now remembered something about Parakang that had been told by Bakri.

"Indo!"

"Yes, what's wrong?"

"Emm, Bakri said he said his sister was almost eaten by Parakang."

"Who said it?"

"Baker, Indo. Bakri himself told me. He also said that parents sometimes lie and say that if Parakang is not there so that their children do not become timid children" explained Saoda.

"Do you believe it?"

"I don't know either, Indo."

"Don't trust someone too much, son. Sometimes a lot of people are good at lying and making up stories that aren't true just to lure in the listener."

Saoda nodded. It was clear that Bakri had lied to him. Well, there can't be a retard.

...****************...

Saoda ran towards the house through the courtyard of the house which was seen scattered with dry leaves that fell from the trees that grew in the yard of the house and trees belonging to neighbors.

Saoda splashed his feet with water that he took from the jug on the bottom of the stairs and Saoda again ran up the steps.

Arriving above he turned to look at Sambe who is now also seen watering his feet and stepping up the steps.

Fifteen minutes later, Saoda is seen squatting in front of Indonya who looks to be separating the conch dirt from the snail meat that is still in its shell using a rusty kitchen knife.

Indeed, if only separate the shell where the dirt and meat only use a rusty knife and do not use a sharp knife.

After separating the shell of conch dung from the flesh that was still attached to the shell, Sambe now put it into a bucket filled with water.

Saoda helped even though the conch he was working on was not too much but this was quite helpful for Sambe. There is no beautiful happiness for a child other than helping his Indo and this is what Saoda feels now.

When finished, Saoda then washed it with clean water on the edge of the well near his house. Water is always provided by his Father so that Saoda and Sambe do not need to draw if you want to take a bath or want to wash eating utensils.

While Saoda washes the conch, Sambe has already lit a fire and seasoning for the conch.

"This, Indo," said Saoda who now put the bucket containing the conch to the side of Sambe.

"Thank you."

"Together, Indo."

Sambe stuffed the conch into a pot filled with water and sealed it tightly.

He pushed the wood so as not to die of fire while cooking the conch. Saoda was silent, observing everything that Indonya did.

Long enough to wait for the water to boil and after that Sambe lifted the pot containing the conch and spilled it into a wide container made of bamboo until the smoke and heat were seen soaring to touch the skysky house.

"Is this cooking?"

Dambe turned to look at Saoda who seemed to have stiffened his plate making Sambe laugh.

"Can I eat it already, Indo?"

"No, Son! It's still raw."

"But Indo's cooking it."

"It hasn't been seasoned."

Saoda nodded immediately. He thought if it was the last stage of his waiting but it turned out that it was not the last stage.

Saoda grabbed the conch and took out the conch with a small bamboo that he had sharpened the tip. Saoda helps and the goal is for this conch to eat quickly. I can't wait to eat the conch last night.

Once finished Sambe then heats the oil made from the original head and inserts fine herbs such as shallots, garlic, marica, etc, salt and a little red pepper into the hot oil and stirring it so skillfully made Saoda look amazed by the figure of Indonya.

Good at cooking, yes Saoda wants to be like that.

The fragrant smell flew in all directions and managed to hit Saoda's sense of smell.

Saoda rubbed his starving stomach and rang. I don't know why he was so hungry.

"What's wrong?"
