25. Proposals

Three days after Arthur's return to Canada, he gets a call from his mother telling him about her encounter with a boy who looks a lot like Arthur.

Jane has only had time to contact Arthur now, because some days he is very busy, as well as Arthur who is back preoccupied with his routine once arrived in Canada.

At first Arthur did not respond so much to the words of his mother. He only chuckles to hear Jane enthusiastically tell him about the little boy named Chico.

However, when Jane says that the boy is Brianna's nephew, it is enough to seize Arthur's mind that makes him think hard.

"Mom sure it's his nephew?"

"Yes, you remember Brianna's sister who met us at the Hospital when she visited Fabio, right? Well, that man is his father."

"Yes, I remember, but my point is is is he really the son of his sister?"

"Why are you even asking me that?" Jane asked back.

Arthur couldn't possibly have expressed any suspicions about the boy's status. To be honest, he suspected that the child was his and Brianna's. But he immediately dismissed such thoughts.

"It's nothing, Mom. I just doubt it, because Mom said she looked like me, which means she doesn't look like Brianna's sister" Arthur said, interspersed with a soft laugh.

"Yes, mommy thinks she's better suited to be your son," Jane joked along with her coolness.

"Can Mom send me her picture?"

"Make what?"

"Well, just to judge how similar he is to me, Mom. I'm curious" Arthur admitted frankly.

"Alright, next time Mom will take her a picture," Jane said.

After the call was interrupted, Arthur began to think about his conversation with his mother. It's not about the job but about the boy named Chico.

"Is he my son?" Arthur still vividly remembers how 4 years ago he and Brianna spent the night together without safety. Did it pay off? But why was the boy declared the son of Zach? That is the mind of Arthur.

If Arthur is still in New York, he will make sure to hit the boy with his own eyes, especially his mother also said Chico's age is around 3 years. Isn't this like a puzzle that should be explained.

"If he's really my son, and Brianna's been hiding it from me all along .. then I have to make a calculation with him" Arthur said.

Arthur wakes up when someone knocks on the door of his room. He let the guy in.

"Good morning, sir. This is your schedule today." A man approached Arthur and began reading Arthur's schedule for the day. He was Arthur's assistant for the last 3 years.

"OK, thanks. Anything else?" asked Arthur who saw the Assistant as if to say something.

"Sorry sir, I want to apply for annual leave because my wife has to give birth in the next month."

Arthur took a short breath. "When did your cut start?" tanyakanya.

"Maybe a week from today" replied the man named Alister.

"Alright, take care of everything and prepare the person who will replace you."

"Yes, sir."

Arthur is back in the middle of his super job. He doesn't have time to play anymore.

Brianna returned to accompany Jane's meeting today, this is a discussion of projects that were delayed with Fabio the other day because Fabio was cured after the accident that time. They also agreed to hold a meeting outside the office again.

"How are you doing, Fabio?" ask Jane.

"I've been much better, Aunty," replied Fabio.

"Thank God" Jane said with a smile.

"Uhm, he's back in Canada."

"really? Oh, my God, I haven't seen him yet" Fabio responded.

Hearing Arthur's name being discussed, Brianna turned her gaze, she was not interested in hearing news about the man.

The conversation continued with a more serious discussion of work, then continued with a lunch together.

"How's Chico doing, Bri?" jane asked on their way home after a meeting with Fabio.

"Ehm, he was discharged from the Hospital yesterday" Brianna replied.

"He's healthy?"

Brianna nodded her head.

"Thank God, I'm sad to see a child have to be a patient in the hospital" Jane admitted.

"Yes, Mrs." Brianna is actually lazy to discuss Chico with Jane, but usually he is always enthusiastic about talking about the son. He just doesn't want Jane to get close to Chico, because Brianna doesn't know what the impact will be if it happens.

"Can I meet him again? I promised to buy him a miniature helicopter" Jane said with a smile.

Brianna certainly did not feel good about rejecting Jane's kindness openly, but on the other hand she did not want Jane to get closer to her son. There must be a wall between them and Brianna realizes that it must be realized before Jane or Arthur finds out more about Chico and will affect her and her son's peace.

"It just so happens that Zach took her out of town, ma'am," Brianna reasoned.

"Hasn't he just healed? Why did Zach take her away?" There is a worried tone in Jane's sentence, Brianna knows it will happen, because the blood relationship between them is clearly there and that's what makes Jane seem to worry about Chico's condition.

"I can't stop her, madam. That's Zach's right as his father" Brianna said.

Jane took a long breath. He realized he didn't deserve Chico, but why did the boy make him miss?

"Honestly, it's like I found my granddaughter when I met Chico" Jane finally admitted.

Hearing that, Brianna rolled her eyes.

"He is indeed your grandson, Madam," said Brianna.

"I'm sorry if I was presumptuous, Chico was too sweet and his face reminded me of little Arthur. If only Arthur wanted to get married, he might have given me a granddaughter as cute and as smart as Chico," Jane said with a look of laughter.

Brianna reviewed a faint smile. "Aren't you planning on setting it up?" advice Brianna. He seemed to get a thought because of Jane's curses.

Jane looked at the secretary. "Do you think it will work?" tanyakanya.

"Well." yeah." Brianna is not sure. But, if Arthur is really married then he will be free from the man. Arthur will have the family and children of other women. That way Arthur will never take Chico away from him. That's the idea that came to Brianna's head.

"It looks like I'm going to say this to Arthur, it's an idea worth realizing" Jane said cheerfully. It was like finding new hope. Right, why hasn't she thought about setting Arthur up all this time?

"Yes, you can do it, ma'am."

"What kind of woman do you think is suitable for Arthur?" Jane asked Brianna.

"I-I don't know, Madam." Brianna suddenly keki. Where does he know what type of Arthur, which is definitely not what the man always considered stupid.

"Will he like this proposal?" jane then muttered. "Ah, but at least Arthur does have to think about the descent from now on" he continued.

"I hope you find a suitable candidate for her soon, Madam. You can start with the career women closest to your life" Brianna said.

Jane mangosteen. "There are some children from my relationship, this could be a business wedding as well, but certainly with a woman who could also catch Arthur's attention. How, Bri?" tanyakanya.

"Well, that's great" Brianna said forcing a smile. Somehow his feelings seemed to be tangled with the thing he proposed himself, but if Arthur married then all the way would be better, Brianna would certainly support him.
