53. Wanna Talk

Early in the morning, Brianna woke up and found an unusual sight. He sees Arthur asleep in the same bed as Chico. Chico's room, which was specially ordered by Arthur at the Hospital, does have a large bed.

At the sight of that, Brianna could not deny that the father and son looked very similar. Even from the style of sleep alone has proved that they are a true father and son.

However, that's not what Brianna's focus is on right now, the woman just doesn't think that Arthur would curl up there to look after a sick Chico. He also recalled how last night Arthur took over his duty to help Chico into the bathroom and asked him to continue sleeping.

Brianna got up from her position, she approached the son and kissed Chico's temple at a glance.

"I also want to give you a kiss in the morning."

Brianna is shocked to hear Arthur's voice responding to his actions. He turned to the man and hinted not to be noisy as it could disturb Chico who was still asleep.

Arthur smiled, he understood what Brianna meant. He got out of bed very slowly so as not to disturb the comfort of Chico. Then pull Brianna's arm slowly towards the sofa in the corner of the room.

"Why?" brianna asked whispering, she was afraid that Chico would wake up, it was still too early, so for her it didn't matter if Chico fell asleep a little longer.

Arthur instead pointed at his own cheek, making Brianna frown incomprehensibly.

"What?" ask Brianna again.

"Morning kiss."

Brianna rolled her eyeballs. "No, no. What if Chico sees it?"

"He's still sleeping."

"If he wakes up?" Brianna shook her head.

"No problem, he thinks I'm your girlfriend."

Brianna's eyes are breaking. "Don't teach him anything that doesn't, Arthur!" the accusation.

Arthur slicked his shoulders. "It was precisely he who told me that, I didn't teach him at all" he denied.

"Oh my goodness!" Brianna breathed a full chest. He moved away but Arthur pulled his arm again.

"Where are you going?" ask Arthur again.

"I'm gonna take a shower."

"I'm coming along."

Brianna glared and Arthur put on his grin. "I was just kidding. I'm gonna stay here to look after Chico" he said.

"good. I'll leave him to you for a second" said Brianna softly.

Arthur smiled, he was pleased with the woman's speech because it meant that Brianna already believed him.

Jane hears that Chico is in the hospital. He also heard that Arthur and Brianna had arrived in New York yesterday. Arthur had not had time to meet him, so Jane was determined to visit Chico, as well as meet Arthur who reportedly helped keep Chico who was being treated.

This afternoon, Jane came with some luggage. Some toys and food for Chico.

His arrival to the treatment room created a cold atmosphere. Whereas previously, Brianna invited Chico to play a puzzle on his bed, while Arthur secretly photographed the togetherness of his wife and child. Flo has just come to bring a change of clothes for Brianna and Chico.

"Good afternoon. Chico ... Grandma came," said Jane who made Brianna immediately speechless, as well as Arthur who immediately kept the phone into his pants pocket.

"Grandma .. Are you here?" Chico returned Jane's greeting cheerfully and enthusiastically.

Brianna and Arthur stared at each other in silence. Flo, who was also there, moved in search of an opening to get out of the room because she knew she wasn't supposed to be there.

Jane handed Brianna the bouquet of flowers which the woman received stiffly. Jane didn't say hello to Brianna or Arthur there, she just focused on Chico.

"Look, Grandma bought you what!" Jane handed over a paperbag to her granddaughter.

"Well, Captain America!" chico exclaimed with excitement to get one of his proud characters. "Thank you, Grandma," he said without being asked. He was indeed a good boy to voice his pleasure.

Brianna shuffled slightly to give Jane some space to get closer to Chico. He knew that if he could not ban the closeness between grandmother and grandchild, especially Chico had also accepted the presence of Jane in his life, although Chico did not know if Jane was indeed his biological grandmother.

So, it's impossible if Brianna blatantly restricts their interactions such as banning or expelling Jane's arrival there.

"Grandma knew that uncle, didn't she?" Chico pointed at Arthur who was sitting on the sofa. "Uncle Arthur's name, he's also kind to me like Grandma."

Jane was about to laugh actually, Chico's innocence really made her anxious.

"Yes, Grandma already knew him, darling," Jane replied in response to Chico's chirping. He stroked Chico's thick hair lovingly.

"Uncle Arthur said he'd take care of me and Momma. But I'm telling you, he's taking care of me, and let me take care of Momma."

Jane looked to smile. "Then from that, Chico should get well soon. In order to take care of Momma, okay."

"Okey, Grandma." Chico and Jane appear to be clashing.

"Mom, I want to talk." Arthur said briefly, then walked out of the treatment room just like that. The gesture he gave so that he could talk to Jane with four eyes without Brianna and Chico heard there.

Jane hears Arthur's request, and she says goodbye to Chico for a moment.

"Darling, Grandma to the toilet first huh. Grandma will be back here."

"All right, Grandma." Chico smiles cutely which Jane rewards with a kiss on the cheek of her puffer.

Jane glanced at Brianna at a glance, the look in the woman's eyes held a meaning that Brianna could interpret if Jane also wanted to talk to her later. Brianna can only bow to the woman who has been his superior for the past 2 years.

Jane comes out of Chico's nursery and finds Arthur waiting for her there.

"We're just talking in the cafeteria, Mom." Arthur walks first and Jane follows behind her son.

Jane believes Arthur will talk about her marriage to Brianna, who after Jane investigates they were already married on Canadian civil records.

"What do you want to talk about?" jane asked as she sat face to face with Arthur.

"Regarding me and Brianna---"

"Mom has already broken that up and you're really married" Jane interrupted with a smile.

Arthur had opened his mouth to speak, but again Jane stroked him with words.

"... How could you just get married, Arthur? You should have told Mom about this first. Marriage isn't something you're supposed to play with."

"I've never played my wedding with her, Mom."

"Then? Why did you make your decision in such a hurry!" sergeant Jane again.

"I just don't want to waste a chance. As long as Brianna was by my side, then I used that situation to tie her to marriage."

"So this is your goal to ask him to replace Alister as your personal assistant? You've planned all this?" Jane does not believe in Arthur's decision that seems rash.

"Not really, Mom. It's also out of my control. I couldn't help but bring her into the marriage bond. Besides having Chico between us, it's also because of how I feel, I love him, Mom."

"Then, what about the feeling, Arthur? Are you thinking about Brianna's feelings? You know he hates you, this marriage is like forcing him. You tortured him indirectly."

Arthur fell silent, Jane's accusation is true, this marriage Arthur did by forcing Brianna, but he has proven that now Brianna began to accept.

"At first he had to, Mom. But now he's softened on me."

Jane's silent, she's not sure Brianna's gonna melt so easily. Moreover, the woman's hatred for Arthur has been formed since many years ago.

"You sure? You sure he's been soft on you?"

"I mean Mommy?"

"Mom's afraid that Brianna's only looking for your weakness, and when she knows your weakness is herself, that's when she can destroy you, Arthur."

"No, Mom." Arthur shook his head in disbelief. "Brianna couldn't have intended that" he said.

"Who knows? He has a grudge against you or not, which he obviously has hated you so deeply for so many years, you have ruined his life. He didn't live well after he received bullies from you. Mom just wanted you to guess the behavior, because what Mom knew was Brianna was a cold, unapproachable woman."
