FOREVER HATE YOU'S

FOREVER HATE YOU'S
4. Chico

The noise of the phone makes Brianna rush to receive the call, forgetting Arthur who has entered Jane's room there.

"What's up, Flo?" Brianna pulled out her phone.

"Uhm, where are you, Bri?" ask someone from a call.

"I'm still working. Did something happen?

"Can you go home sooner?"

Brianna's feelings were suddenly not good. "Why?" her question demanded Flo's answer.

"Chico fever. His body temperature is very high. While Zach is also still in his office," explained Flo.

"Yes God! Okay ... I'll ask permission to go home immediately. Can you get Chico to the hospital first? We'll just meet there later" said Brianna, who was quite panicked.

"Yes, I'll ask Aunt Mira for help."

"Thank you, Flo."

Brianna immediately takes care of her return permit without interrupting the meeting between Jane and Arthur. Fortunately, today's work is completely finished.

"Bri? You're in a hurry?" Friska greets Brianna who almost left the office lobby.

"Yes, I have to go home soon." Brianna said briefly.

"Is something wrong?"

"There's a little problem, I have to go. Bye ..." Brianna left her place of work.

The taxi takes Brianna to the hospital where Flo takes Chico.

"Fuck!!" Brianna slightly ran towards Flo who looked agitated.

"Thank God you arrived quickly. I'm so scared, Bri," Flo said with a worried look.

"What did the doctor say? Chico is sick what?"

"Chico is still being checked inside. I hope it's not serious because the doctor suspects she has dengue fever."

Brianna rubbed her own face. "Hopefully it didn't happen" he said, cracking his own fingers. Brianna always does that if she panics.

"Yes, I also hope Chico will be fine."

A while waiting, the doctor who examined Chico came out, stating about the pain experienced by the 3-year-old boy.

"There was inflammation in his ear, it caused his body temperature to rise. Furthermore, Chico will be treated by an ENT specialist doctor so that his recovery is faster."

"Thank you, Doctor."

The doctors Brianna and Flo looked at each other with looks of relief.

"I'll see it inside" Brianna said, referring to Chico's room.

"Yes, it's good to see him soon, he's been asking you questions since yesterday."

Brianna nodded lethargicly, then walked into the room where Chico was. Flo asked Brianna to have lunch first because she had missed her lunch hour.

"Chico .." Brianna headed to the hospital bed where Chico lay.

The little boy immediately turned to Brianna and he smiled broadly.

"Momma ..."

Brianna sat right in front of Chico and stroked the boy's cheek. Brianna did not say anything but the corner of her eye let out water.

"Don't cry, Momma .. I'm fine."

It felt like there was something about Brianna's heart every time he saw Chico, he felt that the boy was very fast growing even his speech style exceeded that of children his age. Chico can be mature and seem to understand the situation.

"I'm sorry Momma, honey."

It breaks Brianna's heart to see a boy as small as Chico lying on a Hospital bed.

"You are sick because Momma is not paying attention to you" he continued, rubbing his own tears.

Chico's tiny hand stretched out, holding Brianna's cheek. "I still have Flo's mom and Zach's dad, so don't worry about me, I'm a strong boy anyway" he said, as if assuring Brianna that everything would be fine.

Brianna pretended to laugh a little, but her heart was sad to see Chico's current state.

Simultaneously, Flo returned with the package in his hand.

"Hi, champ! See what I brought?" Flo hands what she brought to Chico and the boy opens it up.

"Woa .. This is great!" Chico held up while lifting high a car-tobilan bought by Flo.

"Thank you to your mother, Boy!" brianna told Chico.

Chico smiled a lot. "Thank you, Mom," he told Flo.

"Well, you gotta get well soon, yeah." Flo stroked Chico's thick hair that was shaped like a bowl.

"I'm definitely cured, yeay!" chico is excited.

Brianna and Flo smile at Chico's behavior that does not show his pain. The boy was always smiling, making them grateful to have a child like Chico.

"Yes, Chico is hyperactive. You must be overwhelmed by looking after her" Brianna regretted.

"He's our son, Bri. There is no tired word to take care of it. Zach and I have been really happy since Chico."

Brianna reviewed the faint smile that looked bitter.

Flo then touched the back of the woman's hand. "Chico will be fine. Don't worry about it too much. I'm sorry, I called you because I was too panicked and confused about what to do when I found out her temperature was high" she told Brianna with a guilty look.

"Not what, Flo. You did the right thing. I should've taken more time for Chico."

"Can't you just stop working?"

"And I'm gonna be Zach's dependant? I don't want to, Flo."

Flo nodded her head. "It depends on you, Bri, but Chico needs you too."

"I work for his future, so he doesn't feel what it's like to be me." Brianna dropped her gaze towards Chico-the boy seemed still busy with his new cars there.

"Let Chico be my responsibility and Zach, Bri."

Brianna shook her head faintly, until at last the door of the room opened and revealed a man in formal attire. He's Zach who just got home from his office.

"I'm sorry I'm late here" the man told the two women sitting on the couch, Brianna and Flo.

"What's wrong. Come here!" Flo patted the sofa beside her as a gesture for Zach to sit there.

Zach glanced at Chico who was still playing cars, without any intention of disturbing the boy's pleasure, he sat beside Flo.

"How's it going?" tanya Zach refers to Chico's condition.

"Ear inflammation. Will be followed up by the ENT Doctor," Flo replied.

There was a brief breath of Zach. "I think it's my fault when I took her for a swim the other day" he said.

"Don't blame yourself, you've tried everything you can to take care of her." Brianna who replied.

"She's my son, anyway, Bri." Zack convinced Brianna.

"Thank you" said Brianna.

...***...

While at the company where Brianna works, Arthur and Jane have just come out of the room and do not see Brianna at her desk.

"Where is he?" Arthur wondered in his heart. But he did not express his curiosity.

"Come, Arthur! We need to see Fabio again to talk about a new project" Jane said. He's been notified of Brianna's return permit so he doesn't look for where his secretary went.

"Ah, yes ..." Arthur followed Jane's steps with his style of indifference, even though he was curious where Brianna went.

"You're riding in your own car or coming with Mommy?" ask Jane when they get in the parking slot.

Arthur did not immediately say, it seems that he was getting late with his own thoughts.

"Arthur's? You hear Mommy?"

Arthur jerks. "Ah, y-yeah, Mom."

"Are you in your own car or in Mommy's?"

"I'll just take my car, Mom."

Jane nodded, then galloped towards the car that had been opened by the driver.

"Uhm, Mom?" Arthur's call made Jane turn to him before actually boarding the transaction that was waiting for him.

"Yes? What's up?"

"What is the meeting this time ... Mom doesn't need a companion?"

"There's you, Arthur," Jane replied calmly.

"I mean ... the secretary who's gonna help Mom there?"

"Ah, Cleo is on leave."

"The secretary from yesterday?" ask Arthur.

"You mean ... Brianna?"

Arthur nodded his head. Actually he's anti to do this. Looking for someone. Especially that Brianna. He was just wondering where the girl was. Is Brianna going to eat a blind paycheck? If yes, then a woman like her does not deserve to be the mother's secretary. Arthur's going to plan something for Brianna to be dropped from her mother's office.

"Yes. Why didn't he accompany me to the meeting? Although Fabio is my friend and he is our close relation, but the work meeting is still a work meeting and there should be no treason here" Arthur said with his thoughts.

"Burns?" Jane chuckled a little. "Brianna was only allowed to go home earlier, there was her family who was sick so she had to leave immediately."

"Didn't he come home early?"

Arthur remembers, yesterday Brianna also rushed home with a reason not feeling well, but Arthur clearly knew that the reason Brianna left must be because she met him again after 4 years did not meet.

"Not really," Jane replied. "That's it, don't think about Brianna. There are things that no one else can put off. And so did Brianna. It's his personal business, Arthur. Comeing! We have to leave!" bring him.
