47. Acknowledge feelings

Jane, who is in New York, was very surprised to hear that Arthur had married Brianna 3 days ago. Not that he didn't like Brianna to be his son-in-law, but this was beyond his expectations. Very sudden and why? What's the reason Arthur did this so quickly?

With her initiative, Jane asked Cleo the assistant to work this out to her roots. Although he will also demand Arthur's explanation if they meet in person later, but he also wants to know Arthur's initial relationship with Brianna.

"I'm not sure if Brianna was the one who teased Arthur. It must be Arthur who's crazy because of that girl," Jane's mind thinks Brianna's still a girl. He can guess this because he knows Brianna's passive personality. Brianna in Jane's eyes is a girl who is cold, cranky and unapproachable.

"But how did Brianna finally agree to be married to Arthur? Or is this just Arthur's joke to avoid Serena?" Again Jane is still thinking about the possibility if this is all not true.

An hour later, Cleo entered Jane's room and had bagged all the things her boss wanted to do.

Jane was shocked to find that Brianna had given birth. She's not a girl? And what if Arthur finds out about this? Brianna has a child outside of marriage, is Arthur able to accept all that?

At first Jane wanted to be angry about this. It's not that she couldn't accept Arthur getting a single mom like Brianna but she felt that she had cheated them all.

"The child Brianna was born a few years ago is likely the son of Mr. Mattews," said Cleo, who broke Jane's thinking about Brianna's life.

"You mean?"Jane suddenly stood up from her seat, she wanted to hear Cleo's explanation in more detail.

"They've been stuck in a one night stand relationship after a prom night event at their college."

Wait, Jane remembers Chico's face. The kid Brianna said was his niece. So, is it true that Chico is his grandson? That's how Jane thinks. Without the need for DNA testing or any tests, the boy's face was already accurate evidence that he was of the Mattews' ancestry.

"Chico also has a hereditary heart disease like Wilson suffered," Jane's inner self refers to Arthur's biological father.

It's not wrong, that boy is definitely not Zach's son. Chico is Arthur's flesh.

"It is fitting that Zach's face does not resemble that of the child he acknowledged as his son." Jane mutters.

"Is there anything else I need to find out, Mrs?" ask Cleo then.

"Did you know if Arthur and Brianna were really married 3 days ago?"

"Yes, Mrs."

"Thank, Cleo."

Brianna can't fall asleep again after Arthur receives a call from Jane a while ago. He closed his eyes several times but could not sleep. He thought of Arthur's words regarding the man's feelings towards him. Does Arthur really love him?

"What are you thinking, hmm?" arthur asked who had secretly noticed that the woman was not continuing her sleep.

"Nothing" replied Brianna quietly.

"I wish you were open to me, to what is a burden on your mind, but if you can't do it yet then I won't force you" Arthur said, stroking Brianna's hair gently.

"Oh, Arthur?" Brianna looked up so that her gaze could lead directly to the man's tanned eyes.

"What's wrong? You want a story?" Arthur was about to smile all the while but stopped because Brianna immediately shook her head.

"I'll just sleep on the couch, yeah." Brianna was about to shuffle, but Arthur prevented her by hugging the woman's waist.

"What's wrong? Why do you suddenly want to move to the couch? You're not comfortable sleeping here?" arthur asked referring to the bed they were in.

Brianna wanted to say that she wanted to be alone first for the sake of thinking about all of this, but her lips seemed locked up unable to say that.

Arthur tucked his head in the recess of Brianna's neck, then he whispered softly.

"Don't leave me, hmm?"

"Arthur, I'm just gonna move to the couch." Brianna tries to break Arthur's embrace, he also wants to keep his distance from the man but of course it's not easy because Arthur seems to insist on keeping Brianna by his side.

"What are you really thinking? Try telling me." Arthur stared at Brianna's two eyeballs in turn, his gaze laden with curiosity.

"I-I .. just heard your statement to your mother, earlier."

"Which one? About my confession about our marriage?"

Brianna nodded.

"Mommy deserves to know, right? He'll know about Chico, too."

"Yet. Mom just found out and about Chico she will definitely find him after this," replied Arthur confidently. And it was indeed investigated by Jane who now knows that Chico is her grandson.

"But I still want to sleep on the couch."

"What else do you want to clarify from me? What about how I feel about you?" guess Arthur was on target.

Brianna was very surprised about the man's statement of taste. Arthur told his mother that. It made Brianna curious about the seriousness of the man's sentence.

"You just don't want your mom to ask that much, do you? Then you say if--"

"I love you, Bri!" cut Arthur clear, even strongly emphasizing the sentence.

"That's impossible" replied Brianna who wanted to laugh discordantly at that moment, but he had not yet done so Arthur had already silenced his lips with the man's lips.

"I love you" said Arthur in front of Brianna's face who was again surprised by the man's action.

Brianna froze on the spot, gnashing her eyes as Arthur blew his face.

"You surprised? You shouldn't be surprised anymore after everything that's happened between us" Arthur said later.

Brianna still has a hard time voicing her head in regards to Arthur's confession just now.

But Arthur seemed to know the woman's head. He cupped Brianna's two cheeks with his fingers.

"There are many ways to show love, Bri. And I'm a cowardly man who used to hurt you, to tie you to me."

Brianna's getting harder to say right now. What exactly is in the mind of this man who is always cursed and cursed?

"And now I realize that my way used to be wrong and too childish. Therefore, let if now I want to make up for all my wrongs to you by giving you happiness. I don't mind if you ask me to keep saying sorry to you, every day."

Arthur glared at Brianna with a shady look, making something in Brianna's heart seem touched by the look in the man's eyes.

"I did want Chico, but I also wanted her mother long before she existed. And now you are a complete gift package in my life. Don't avoid me anymore, Brianna. My words tonight, I can account for by glorifying you every day."

Brianna felt her eyes heat up, for some reason she wanted to cry now. Did Arthur's speech really touch the bottom of his heart? Not to mention when he saw earnestness in the eyes of the man. Brianna believes Arthur is not lying and that belief has infiltrated her feelings.

Arthur kissed Brianna's lips again. He will never get tired of doing it. He will continue to do so even if Brianna rebels him. But now Arthur realizes that Brianna has softened on him. Arthur was sure that a little more of his efforts would pay off. Brianna will have the same feelings as him.

Arthur wants to turn Brianna's hatred for him into such great love. Isn't one of the luckiest things about being loved by someone we love?

Arthur gently wiped Brianna's lips wet from her actions. He kept looking into Brianna's eyes with an equally deep look.

"Say something, don't shut up, hmm?" Arthur spoke as he kissed the back of Brianna's hand.

"This .. surprised me" admitted Brianna at last.

"yeah. You didn't expect someone like me to fall in love with you, did you? At first I was like that too, but the truth is that."

"You sure you want to apologize to me every day?"

Arthur nodded. "If it can make you forgive me all my mistakes, I'll do it, Honey, '" said Arthur stroking Brianna's cheek briefly.

Brianna chuckles at a glance. "I'll consider it" he said.

There was no way Brianna would have the heart to see Arthur continue to apologize to her every day, because she still had a conscience not to make the man like a beggar in front of her. After all, Brianna could be sick of hearing Arthur's apologies repeated over and over again.

"Or do you also want me to say 'i love you' every day?" bargain Arthur with his sly grin.

Brianna's face flushed. "You want to too?" his challenge.

"Yes, but I'll do it while making you sigh." Arthur's eyes make Brianna crackle. He immediately turned around to lie sideways while turning his back on Arthur's position.

Arthur chuckles. He hugged Brianna's body from behind and whispered softly.

"I love you, my wife .. I'll say it every night before you fall asleep by my side."
