The car that Arthur was driving finally entered an Apartment basement. Brianna doesn't know where she clearly thinks Arthur will meet Serena as originally planned.
"Lake in!" Arthur pulls Brianna's hand into the door of the apartment that is now in front of him.
Brianna did not make any more noise after her ruckus with Arthur in the car earlier.
"Sit down!" Arthur sat Brianna's body on the couch.
Arthur took the position right in front of Brianna, like a policeman interrogating the woman with an intimidating look.
No words came back out of Arthur's lips yet, he just looked at Brianna from his position.
Brianna, meanwhile, felt as if she was in the courtroom. Like waiting for a verdict from Arthur who will knock the hammer for the continuation of his fate. Brianna was weak, when Arthur found out about Chico. If he would normally fight, but now he was shriveled at the thought of the worst possibility that Arthur would do to his son.
"Why are we here? Didn't we go see Serena?" Finally Brianna asked, her voice may sound vibrating now, actually she is covering up the fear that arises in her.
Arthur clucked his tongue when he heard Brianna asking about Serena. He stared fixedly at the woman's brownish netra.
"Nothing is more important right now, except our discussion of Chico," he stressed.
Brianna gulped her saliva hard. He did not dare to fight with eyes as sharp as an eagle owned by Arthur there.
"I'll take responsibility for her life, Brianna. Then let him be with me!"
Whats? Brianna stared fiercely at Arthur. "I told you not to take Chico out of my life!" said loud.
Arthur laughed heartily. "You know, lately my mom's been urging me to get married just because I wanted to have children, so I thought that with Chico everything would be easier... I don't need to marry my mother's choice."
Brianna was rubbing her hair in frustration. He had indeed heard Arthur was not interested in marriage, and Chico must have been like an answer to Arthur so that he did not need to follow the wishes of Jane who wanted to match him.
"Arthur, I've sacrificed a lot of my life for Chico. My youth, my peerage, were all wiped out when I found out I was pregnant. So, please .. don't take Chico from me. He's my life, Arthur." Brianna cries with a headband that shows objection to Arthur's earlier speech.
For whatever reason, after all these years Arthur knows a woman named Brianna. Just this time he saw the woman crying and begging him. Usually Brianna will always fight him, or at the very least, Brianna will shut up and ignore him. And all this Brianna did was for the sake of a child whose flesh was blood.
Arthur threw his eyes away, not wanting to see Brianna's haggard face across the street. Without her estimating, suddenly the woman approached and rested on her feet.
"I know you're a powerful man. You can take what you want including Chico from my life, but again please use your conscience this time, Arthur. Don't separate me from my son."
Brianna knew what she was doing now was clearly lowering her own self-esteem. But he also realizes that the power Arthur has and the money he has won't be able to make Brianna dwell, especially Arthur is really Chico's biological father, which will actually make Brianna still lose terribly if he brings this case to the court.
"Why are you keeping it from me? Even if you charge me at the green table then I won't be blamed because you've never told me what happened to you!" cetus Arthur without looking at Brianna who is still in his legs.
Brianna was crying. He knew he was wrong, from the beginning he did not complain to Arthur about what he was going through, but he did it because he did not want Arthur to ask him to throw the fetus that was already present in his diahim.
"I'm afraid you're telling me to drop it" Brianna said.
"What did you say? You haven't even tried to tell me yet but you've made your own conclusions!"
"I know. I know from the beginning I kept it a secret, I just didn't want you to do anything to get rid of the fetus I was carrying just because you never wanted her presence."
Brianna continued to hug Arthur's leg accompanied by her stuffing. He no longer knew how to get Arthur to take his words away from him. Let him keep this up important Arthur will change his mind.
"You think I'm gonna change my decision when you bow down on me like this?" A cynical smile rises at the end of Arthur's lips, making Brianna aware that this effort is futile.
Brianna looked at Arthur with a wailing look. "Don't separate me from Chico, Arthur. I'm his mother!" said weak.
"I'm his father too! His father who never knew him because of his mother's selfishness!"
Brianna closed her eyes tightly because Arthur's words sounded so loud. Arthur does not know that he deliberately kept this a secret in order to keep his son from the bad possibilities that Arthur could have done to the child. Who could have guessed what Arthur's head would be if he found out Brianna was pregnant with her child? Arthur often hurts Brianna.
Arthur sighed deeply, until he finally spoke softly,
"Find me with him."
"alright. You can meet him, but don't separate me from him, Arthur." Brianna.
"You want to stay with Chico, right?"
"Of course."
"I also want to be with her so we'll just get married!"
"W-what?" Brianna looked at Arthur unblinkingly. He was speechless with the man's speech that sounded very soothing to a marriage.
"We got married and took care of Arthur together."
"You're kidding me!" Brianna smiled cynically.
Arthur slicked his shoulder. "That's all up to you, I'm just giving you the best option so you don't part from Chico but if you mind then I won't force you either."
"Marriage is a sacred bond. I can't possibly marry you" Brianna said with a glaring gaze somewhere.
"Why is that impossible? We can start for our son."
Cih, our son said, Brianna's mind immediately screeched to hear it.
"I told you, I hate you. I can't marry you. That's impossible" murmured Brianna who was still heard until Arthur's sense of hearing.
"I told you that I didn't force you. All decisions are with you. If I go to Chico and tell him that I'm his father. What would Chico do? I think he would have wanted his father and mother to be together" Arthur said as calmly as possible.
Brianna did not reply, he released his embrace at Arthur's feet when he realized all his pleas were meaningless, because now it was Arthur who threw the choice to him.
"I gave you time to think for 2 days. No, 1 day is enough, so think about it, Brianna Walton, because I won't let my son hold a different last name for too long."
...To be continue ......
