5. A Secret

While driving his car, Arthur actually gets word from Fabio that the man had an accident while heading to their meeting place. As a result, the meeting was canceled because Fabio had to be rushed to the Hospital.

Arthur calls Jane to tell her mother what happened to Fabio, and they decide to see Fabio at the Hospital.

"Aunty was very surprised to hear that you had an accident when you wanted to get to our meeting place" Jane said upon arrival at Fabio's treatment room.

Fabio seemed to be lying with minor injuries on his body. "I'm fine, Aunty. Sorry our meeting was delayed" he said.

"You don't have to think about the meeting first, I hope you recover soon and get back to work."

"Thank, Aunty."

Arthur, who was also there, finally made a sound. "How did you get into an accident? Is this purely your carelessness or because someone planned it?" ask Fabio.

"It's because of my carelessness that I didn't see any other cars coming in from behind all of a sudden. I almost hit him, but I ended up slamming the steering wheel and this is how it turned out," Fabio explained.

After visiting Fabio, Jane and Arthur resigned. They promised a meeting at a later time about their work projects.

"Come by Mommy's house, Arthur."

"No, Mom. I still have business and will return to the hotel after everything is done."

"Basic suck! You have a house here, but you've been staying at a hotel since you came from Canada" Jane said.

Jane will behave like a proper mother if outside of work, even if in the office, Jane looks serious, elegant and workaholic. However, her true self is a woman who has a high maternal soul. No one would have thought that nagging was also one of her skills, just like the other mothers.

"That's Mommy's house, not mine, Mom," Arthur replied.

"Just the same. Your home is your home too!"

They were arguing that Arthur occasionally responded with a smile. The man misses enough of the mother's nagging that he hasn't listened to in a long time.

"Does Mom have to invite you formally just for dinner?" jane's sarcasm later.

Arthur chuckles. Then he decided to give up. "Alright, Mom. I'll come if Mom invites me," she jokes.

"Ah, you ... Mommy's out of words because of you!" grouse Jane.

When accidentally, Jane actually saw a familiar figure on one side of the Hospital.

"Brianna?"

Hearing the name, Arthur suddenly followed the direction of the mother's gaze.

"He's here?" arthur muttered with a slanted smile.

"Bri? Is your sick family being treated at this Hospital?" Jane greets the secretary she accidentally met.

Seeing that, of course Brianna was surprised. Moreover, there is not only Jane, but there is also Arthur. Maybe Brianna could have told Jane what really happened, if only she wasn't Arthur's mother. However, given the reality, also because Arthur was there, Brianna chose not to be too open.

"Uhm, yes, my lady niece who is sick and cared for here." Brianna reviewed a stiff-looking smile.

"Ah, may your niece get well soon, Bri."

"Thanks, Mrs. Jane."

Arthur comments on the smile that deliberately provoked Brianna's anger, a smile that seemed annoying, but Brianna did not want to reply, he pretended not to see Arthur there. Just ignore it.

"Can I go see your nephew? Like I'm here," Jane said kindly.

"No!!" brianna replied spontaneously.

Upon realizing her own panic, Brianna immediately covered her mouth with her hands.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean no .. But my niece is resting, ma'am." Brianna folded her lips into a straight line. Suddenly he felt wrong.

Jane nodded, seemingly understanding the situation.

"Well, I get it. Your niece is a kid, isn't she?"

"Uhm, 3 years old," Brianna replied softly, barely whispering.

Arthur was silent because Brianna also did not think he was there, but of course he noticed the interaction between Mother and the woman who was most happy to be bullied.

"Bri?" Suddenly someone was present among them. He is Zach, Brianna's younger brother.

Brianna turns her head and tells Zach that Jane is her boss in the office.

"It's nice to meet you, ma'am," Zach said kindly.

"Well, nice to meet you too," Jane said, welcoming Zach's hand.

Zach turned to Arthur, his gaze back on Brianna as if to know from the lips of the brother about who the man was.

Zach, who does not know who the man in front of him is, immediately extended his hand to Arthur there. Which Zach considers to be the son of Brianna's superior.

Arthur also returned Zach's hand until they shook each other and stared at each other clearly.

"Zach Walton."

"Arthur Mattews."

They also mentioned each other's names.

Hearing Zach's last name, Arthur immediately realizes that the man before him must be Brianna's brother.

However, Zach gasps when he hears Arthur's real name.

"Arthur .." murmured Zach recounted the name of the man in front of him. Although slow but his words can still be heard by those who are there.

"Is there something wrong with my name?" respond Arthur.

"No. No. There are quite a number of people who use that name" said Zach who immediately glanced at Brianna meaningfully.

"Yes, you're right!" Arthur chuckled briefly. Somehow he felt that Zach had known himself before today. Did Brianna ever tell her about her brother?

Zach also immediately stared fixedly at Arthur. Somehow he began to recognize the figure without needing to be explained.

"What is your sick son, Mr. Walton?" Jane asked Zach again, making the man turn to Brianna's boss.

"Well, my sick son." Zach mastered a situation that would definitely be chaotic if he told the truth.

"What pain?" ask Jane who somehow cares. Arthur wants to get out of there, but there's no way he's leaving Jane.

"The doctor said there was inflammation in his ear" Zach explained.

"May your son recover soon, Zach," Jane said familiarly.

"Thank you, Madam."

Jane and Arthur soon move on after a brief introduction to Zach.

Jane and Arthur. Zach immediately quipped Brianna.

"Why do you have to work for her mother? You can still find another job and be free of them."

Brianna let out a long sigh, for without needing to be explained by him-Zach instantly knew everything.

"I never knew Mrs. Jane is his mother. If I had known it in the first place, then I would never have tried to apply for a job in that office 2 years ago."

"Stop working, Bri!" tukas Zach who is hard to believe by Brianna.

"I can't."

"I can still afford you and Chico."

"No, Zach! You have Flo .. She's your wife and the one most entitled to your responsibilities. Not me and ... Chico."

"You're my brother and my son Chico, you're both my responsibility, Bri!" zach stressed.

Brianna sighed wholeheartedly, dampening her sense of sadness that also felt like exploding due to the fact that it was like mocking her now.

"I'll keep working." Brianna said softly.

"Okay, find another job."

"I can't. I'm under contract and the penalty fee is no joke, Zach!"

"Then? You're gonna stay in that company? Meet that guy every day and he'll know everything you've been hiding?"

Brianna nodded loudly.

"Arthur will only be here for a while because he's settled in Canada."

"while? How-how long? The time will be enough to expose your secrets if you are in the same sphere."

"Calm down, Zach. He won't investigate about me. He doesn't care about me, so my secret he'll never know."

Zach clucking tongue. "I'm just warning you, because we never know what kind of move he'll take if he finds out about Chico."

Brianna's eyes stared fiercely at Zach. "Can you lower your voice? I won't let him touch Chico. It will never!"
