Tenganan Pegringsingan Indigenous Village is included in the Manggis District, Karangasem Regency, Bali. The distance is about 70 km from Bali Ngurah Rai Airport. This tourist and cultural village in every corner of the village is still very thick with ancestral cultural customs. Starting from the everyday language used to the layout and shape of the building of each resident's house.

Balinese people are known to still uphold the customs and culture of ancestral heritage. One of them is the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village, which is one of the villages category Bali Aga. In this village, visitors will find an ancestral cultural heritage that is still preserved by the community.

"This is the Bali Aga village other than Trunyan" said Mas Arya initiated our conversation.

In terms of daily language use, there is a uniqueness that uses the subtle Balinese language madia and each accent ends with “a” when meeting with guests visiting the village. From the accent and pronunciation, the language used seems unique and different. There is also a special language used as a call for men and women. For men have call “Cong”, while for women have call “Nyi.

"They don't call mas 'bli?" much

For the form of buildings both for traditional buildings and community residences, it has differences and uniqueness that are not found in any part of Bali. Each custom building has a different place and function, both for community customary activities and as a family residence.

"Why is his custom home lined up like that?" ask Prasta

"The bales were built ranging from south to north. The southernmost is Bale Agung, followed by Bale Kulkul in the north. Bale Jineng Petemu Kelod, Bale Petemu Kelod, Bale Gambang, Bale Banjar. Then Bale Jineng Nungnungan, Bale Jineng Petemu Tengah, Bale Petemu Tengah, Bale Glebeg. Bale Jineng Petemu Kaje, Bale Petemu Kaje, Wantilan, Balai Lantang, Bale Ayung. The majority of Tenganan Pegringsingan Indigenous Village residents have a livelihood as farmers. But some of the residents are also artisans. Crafts made by residents include carvings, woven bamboo, paintings on palm leaves and woven fabrics.

"Oh yes, I heard that the woven fabric of this village has good quality" I said

"Yes right, the woven fabric here the color quality and neatness is good. But it's expensive" said Gusde

The woven fabric produced by the villagers of Tenganan Village is known as Gringsing Fabric. Woven cloth typical of the people of Tenganan Village is very famous even worldwide. The technique uses double ikat technique, which is known as the only weaving technique in Indonesia.
