The four of us then headed for Sewu Temple. On the way we saw Bubrah Temple. But we did not stop by, because the shape and function are almost the same as Lumbung Temple. So we went straight to Candi Sewu. This bathing complex is very beautiful and cool, because of the many trees. Unfortunately there are still many ruins of the temple that have not been restored.

"Mas, that was the time in Lumbung Temple was found an inscription for Sewu Temple, what inscription was it?" my many.

"Yes .. earlier Mas Fais promised to tell about the inscription." said Dika.

Fais then smiled and looked at us one by one.

"The name is Kelurak inscription, which dates to 782 AD." explained Fais.

"That means this temple is older than Prambanan Temple, huh?" ask Dika.

"Yes right, this temple was built first by Rakai Panangkaran, Pikatan's grandfather and was mocked by the Pikatan." explained Fais.

"Oh yes, this temple is how many mas, a lot." I said

"Sewu, hahahaha" said Ivan who then all giggled.

"Udah know his name Sewu Temple, yes there must be 1,000 laah temple." ledek Ivan again.

I then pinched Ivan and put a fierce look on Dika and Fais.

"OK - okay, this temple has 240 regency temples, 8 apit temples, and 1 parent temple. So it's 249 in total" Fais said.

"Eh kok here there are 2 giant statues of guards yes, different like Prambanan there are no guards" said Dika while walking closer to one of the statues of guards whose height is about 3 m.

"It's called Dwarapala, the guardian statue, the number here is 8 pieces. Every entrance of the temple there is a pair of these statues" Fais said while showing the other 3 pairs.

"The size of the mother temple how many mas? big." asked Ivan, while running towards the temple in question.

"Building height 29.8 m. The master temple plan is in the form of a 20-pointed crossbar with a central line measuring 28.9 m.

We then ran after Ivan who had first entered the mother temple and immediately fell asleep on the floor of the temple.

"You know, this temple symbolizes the concept of the universe in the cosmology of Buddhism you know" said Fais made us curious.

"What's the concept of going? different from Prambanan, huh?" I asked while looking around the temple which was very messy.

Fais then explained about the cosmology of Candi Sewu. We looked at what Fais explained to us.

---

The main temple of Sewu symbolizes the central continent with meru (mountain). Seven series of mountains are described in the form of a perimeter fence I, regency temple series I, II, temple apit, guardrail temple series III, IV, and fence around II. Seven seas are symbolized by page I, the yard between the fence I with the regency temple series I, the page between the regency temple series II and the temple apit, the page between the temple apit and the guardianship temple series III, and the temple, the courtyard between the regency temples of series III and IV, as well as the courtyard between the regency temple of series IV and the circumference fence II.

"You do not know that the core material of the Sewu Temple building is made of bricks" said Fais

"That's inside so yeah don't look, hahaha" Fais said with a laugh.

"Why bricks?" my many.

"Brick is made of 5 elements of nature and prakrti. So it is very suitable for the core of the temple" Fais said.

Fais then stood up and took us up into the temple. This building is so beautiful and there is no arc in it. Just a really big sculpture.

"Mas, the kenaoas in here are empty, where Lord Manjusri is." I asked.

"Ooh .. chances are the Manjusri statue was made of high and large bronze. But now where the statue does not know" said Fais.

We then surround the sewu master temple and there are those that make us interesting. We then approached a few rows of relief panels.

"This is a relief of people playing music" I said, pointing to some reliefs depicting people playing music.

"Yes, the reliefs depicted in the temple are our clues to the past" Fais said.

"So, maybe there used to be musical instruments." said Dika while his eyes sparkled.

"Yes, this is a slack, this truss is like a kolintang held" Fais said while showing a relief panel depicting kendang and kolintang. There are also flutes and cengs - cengs.

We then went down through the south door and Fais took us to one of the guardianship temple buildings.

"When did you come here, mas?" ask Ivan.

"Mas will show something amazing" Fais said as he continued to step foot into the southern relief. He then told us to get into one of the guardians and we were amazed by what we saw.

"Wooow ... mantaap, is this also a picture of ancient times?" said Dika.

Fais then nodded his head and smiled. He then entered and touched the relief.

"It's a lamp relief in the 8th century" Fais said proudly.

"Unbelievable, this lamp is really cool" said Dika while continuing to look at the relief.

"This is the lamp for the ritual. Just look at the lights depicted on the lotus. You know, the lotus is a symbol of purity and has a high philosophical" I said

"Yes, what amazes me is that the depiction is very detailed.

We are very satisfied with the current Sewu Temple treat. We then decided to take a short break and go back to the main page of Sewu Temple.
