Chapter 27 - A Step Closer

When Zayan came home, all the man got was the tense face of Genta and the hostile face of Almira. The two had already seen the evidence sent by Micah and it seemed that Elnara had also seen the evidence.

"Please explain, I'll give you five minutes to explain!" Almira said firmly after allowing Zayan to sit right in front of him.

"Let El hear Mas Zayan's explanation as well" the words came from Elnara who had just come out of her room.

Zayan finally explained what happened that night. How the dinner ended and Zayan did not remember anything after the event.

"So, Mas Zayan was framed?" ask Elnara after Zayan finishes his story.

"Yes, I think because I was too tired so I don't remember what happened that night. Apparently, this is all Micah's trap." Zayan said calmly though in his heart he was worried about Elnara.

"Too neat and he's got pretty solid evidence. Papi thinks he's working with your other employees" Genta said in comments approved by Elnara.

"I and Okta also thought like that, CCTV evidence of who took me to the lost hotel means that indeed he could not work alone."

"According to Mas Zayan who can roughly work with Ms Micah?"

"I can't guess yet, some employees seem to hate her so it's a little hard to see who she's close to."

"You have another enemy, Zayan?" the question came from Genta who was answered by Zayan.

The three were still cool in discussing without paying attention to Almira who was just observing. She was a little relieved that Elnara did not cry and chose to believe in Zayan's story.

Seeing a calmer Elnara made Almira decide to let Zayan work on her own. After all there are still Genta and Okta who will help the man. Almira just needs to make sure no one can touch her daughter.

"Get your confidant to data on anyone who's at dinner that night. We'll see who's a potential ally of that woman." Said Genta gave an idea that was immediately done by Zayan.

Zayan quickly asked his confidants to record anyone celebrating his birthday. To avoid cheating again, Zayan asks that everything be done secretly.

The clock was showing at 1pm when Zayan entered the room. The man was quite surprised to see Elnara who had not slept, seemed to be waiting for him.

"Why not sleep?" zayan asked gently as he sat down beside Elnara.

"Waiting for Mas Zayan" replied Elnara slowly.

"Sorry, this issue is quite time-consuming because the shareholders have started to speak."

Elnara nodded slowly, then smiled warmly trying to calm the husband's heart.

"Mas Zayan must be tired, it's better for Mas to sleep."

Zayan stared fixedly at the beautiful face of Elnara who was still smiling warmly. Zayan subconsciously reached out his hand and gently rubbed the girl's cheek.

"I can only give you trouble, sorry for not being able to be a good husband and happy you."

"It should be El who apologizes for bringing Mas here. If El had not meant Mas to survive, maybe Mas would have been happier instead of getting caught up in problems like this."

"I can't string up sweet words, but one thing you should know is that I choose you and no regrets will be said at any time."

Elnara could not prevent her blushing cheeks from being lulled in the sweet words of Zayan. Elnara thought that soon her heart would explode from beating rapidly.

Zayan took too much of his heart until Elnara thought it was not the rest of the heart he had. Zayan is a very good heart thief.

"Mas Zayan .. thank you for accepting El and for opening up to Mas."

"I also want to thank you for sticking with all my bad attitude. Thank you for choosing a man like me as your husband."

Tonight for the first time Elnara saw Zayan smiling gently at her. The smile that made Elnara fall back in love with her husband.

Now Elnara increasingly wants to be greedy to have Zayan alone. Zayan had opened up and accepted, Elnara thought now there would be no way out for Zayan in her heart. The man was locked tightly in his heart.

Let them enjoy their time together and forget the problems that await. Both want to enjoy the warm moment that happened for the first time. This is a great first step to their relationship.

A step closer, that was what Elnara thought.
