Chapter 54 - A Wounded Heart

Vika feels very hurt when she finds out Okta is back in a relationship with Mira. The fact that Okta began to change and now back in a relationship with Mira managed to slap Vika hard.

Vika spent her time crying alone in the room. No one knew how hurt Vika was right now. He chose to keep his wounds alone until later when he was unable to endure his pain.

Right now all Vika could do was act as if she didn't know anything. He'll let Okta do whatever the guy wants. Vika seemed resigned to the fate of her household.

"Vika, tomorrow Mas must go to Bandung. Maybe in about two days, there's work to be done there." Okta said as Vika prepared for bed.

"Yes Mas" answered Vika.

He has been quite disappointed with Okta's attitude lately and now the man is telling him that he will leave tomorrow when they are ready to fall asleep. Vika feels Okta doesn't think it matters.

Once again Vika had to swallow her disappointment alone. He really has to prepare himself if one day Okta chooses to leave him.

2 Days passed and Vika had not received any news from Okta other than the man said he had arrived in Bandung. Maybe from now on Vika should get used to Okta's indifference.

Vika is currently spending her time traveling alone. He could not take Elnara because he did not want his best friend to know her heartbreak.

Vika stopped at a red light and when she turned her eyes found a familiar car. It's Okta's car that should still be on the way home.

"Mas Okta?" Vika muttered softly before she decided to follow her husband's car.

Okta's car stops at the apartment Vika recognizes. Soon Mira gets out of Okta's car and into the apartment.

"It hurts, Mom. Mas should be honest and Vika will release Mas instead of hiding and hurting Vika."

Vika decided to return home. She tried not to cry even though it felt so stifling.

Vika wakes up and finds a dark room indicates Okta has returned home. Sighing tired he decided to look for Okta. Apparently the man in his study was calling someone Vika didn't know about.

"Mira's back and I already know the reason for her departure. I'm angry and don't believe it, but he's giving me proof."

Okta was silent for a moment as if listening to the speech of the person she was calling.

Vika did not want to eavesdrop, but curiosity led her to stand still in front of Okta's study.

"Lately I've been with him, even after I came home from Bandung to the apartment he used to be. He asked for my help, just that and I couldn't resist."

Vika should have just left because in the end she would only get hurt.

Vika's heart thumped loudly hearing Okta say her name. Vika hopes Okta doesn't say hurtful things anymore.

"Gue doesn't know .. I haven't fully opened my heart to Vika. I'm comfortable with him, but I can't love him yet. Actually ... I still can't forget Mira. You know for years we struggled to find blessing even though he ended up going that way."

Vika ran towards the room, her heart breaking apart. Although he had tried to strengthen his heart, still the pain managed to break his heart to formless.

"Oh my God, it hurts .. It hurts so bad!" Vika cried hitting her chest which felt tight.

Hoping on someone who is incapable of doing the past is painful. It may be true that a man can treat a woman sweetly even without harboring feelings.

That's what Vika feels, she was taken flying with all the sweet treatment from Okta and in the end she had to be slapped with reality. Okta treated her sweetly just because she was the man's wife.

"What did you think of me all this time? Why are you doing this with me?" Vika can only cry lamenting the fate of her love story that ended miserably.

Comfort does not mean love, but should not comfort bring love?
