Chapter 35 - Worry and Doubt

Elnara was already relieved that the matter with Micah was finally resolved. For now there was nothing he needed to worry about anymore. That was according to Elnara before finally finding the awkward relationship Okta and Vika.

Elnara saw for herself as Okta affectionately kissed Vika's forehead tightly grasping the girl's hand. Elnara's question was only one, did they decide to get back together?

"Think what?" the question made Elnara turn her head in shock at Zayan who had been sitting next to her since when.

"Mas Zayan just got home?" ask Elnara back.

"About five minutes ago and you look cool daydreaming. So, what were you thinking until I didn't realize I was sitting next to you?"

"Ehm ... El again thought about Vika and Mas Okta."

"What are they like?"

Elnara seemed hesitant to say, but of course she could not harbor her worry about Okta and Vika's relationship.

"El see they're friendly, El thinks they're back together."

Zayan sighed before responding to Elnara's words, "actually I've been feeling that way too lately."

"Will they be okay getting back together?" elnara asked without trying to cover up her worries.

"I don't know, their relationship in the past was quite complicated."

"Yes," Elnara let out a lethargic sigh considering what Okta and Vika's relationship was like in the past.

"Whatever it is we see what they will be like, we can only pray that they don't hurt each other anymore."

"But right, we can only pray the best for them. El just thought, if they get back together why not tell us. At least, we shouldn't be surprised to see them being friendly."

"I'm sure there are several reasons that make them keep their relationship a secret. One of them might be because of the problem we just faced."

Elnara nodded in agreement, what Zayan said was indeed true. After all, both of them are adults and both already feel the bitterness of their relationship.

Both Zayan and Elnara could do nothing but wish the couple all the best. To be honest, Elnara was a little afraid that Vika would get hurt again.

"So, when are we gonna tell the family we're back together?" ask Okta to Vika who looks reluctant to answer.

"It's not time yet, new problems are over and it's not good to announce our relationship now." Vika replied with a soothing smile so that Okta would not have to rush.

"Not yet or do you still feel unsure?" the right question on target that makes Vika inevitably have to be honest.

"Why? Do you still doubt the same? Are you afraid of getting hurt again?"

"Honestly yes, Vika is still hesitant and afraid of being hurt. Please give me some time to calm down, I'm just afraid of repeating the same injury."

Okta sighed tiredly, she could not selfishly force Vika because the source of the problem was on her own.

"I'm sorry that I was selfish to force you like this. I just don't want to let go of you, I'm afraid you'll turn away."

"I'm sorry because I'm selfish. I don't doubt you, but the shadows of the past continue to haunt me these days."

Okta smiled wryly at how tormented Vika had been all this time.

"Given the past makes Mas feel really stupid. Forgiven the same you should be more than enough, but Mas selfishly forced you to return the same Mas."

Vika smiled slightly before hugging Okta to calm the man down. They are too complicated, but love makes the two inseparable.

"We have to slow down to face everything. Maybe spending a lot of time together makes me forget about our past."

"Yes, you're right. We have to repeat from the beginning because your stupidity destroyed everything. I assume this is a punishment for Mas, please always next to Mas huh. Don't stay in Mas anymore, Mas already feel tortured enough."

Vika nodded in Okta's warm embrace. She loved this man who hugged her, no matter how much Okta had given her the wound. Love actually makes people stupid.

Vika does not know whether her decision will bring happiness or return with wounds. The only thing he wants is to feel loved and Okta promises that after all this time just to give him a wound.

Vika may be too stupid to think the happiness promised by Okta is real. In fact, there is no guarantee that will make Okta's promise come true.
