Mrs. Crazy And Mr. Perfects

Mrs. Crazy And Mr. Perfects
CHAPTER 17| AFTER DINNER

“Her temperature is ripe—”

Ocean's steps and words came to a standstill when he found Selena sleeping on the couch in the lounge, near the kitchen. He looked very tired, sleeping with the apron still attached to his body. Selena's head is tilted to the right, her position looks uncomfortable.

“Selena?” Ocean called him slowly. Only Selena's fine snoring was heard.

Ocean approached slowly, sighing deeply. For a moment she observed the peaceful face of Selena drifting away in a dream, then smiled faintly, wondering why Selena looked so much better when she fell asleep. Not to be left behind and annoying him.

Ocean carefully placed his hand to Selena's upper back and the other hand on her leg. In one fell swoop, Ocean lifted Selena briefly to turn her sleeping position into lying on the sofa.

As she was about to remove her arm from Selena's head, Selena's writhing brought Ocean's motion to a standstill, trying not to wake her up. Two seconds later, Selena changed her sleeping position to face the Ocean. Which made Ocean sigh longer than before, Selena's hand moved coiled around her arm as if Ocean's arm was a pillow.

Ocean closed his eyes. It seemed impossible to remove her hand from Selena's head in this position, without waking her up.

Five minutes. Everything is going normally. Ocean was still bowing, not feeling any meaningful trouble.

Ten minutes. Ocean felt sore on his waist.

Fifteen minutes. Ocean surrender. She lies next to Selena with her arms still in the same position. He's tired too. Most of the work—cooking and cleaning house—Ocean do it. His eyes closed, for a moment after following Selena dive into a dream.

...****...

The steaming tea steam gave off a distinctive aroma, striking Selena's face whose gaze was centered on one object that was nearly nine meters away from her. Instantly, his face turned red. Not because of the hot steam of the tea, but rather because of his mind that was thrown at the embarrassing incident just a moment ago.

“Build, Selena.” As Ocean said, it sounded softly enter Selena's ears to keep her awake from dreaming. When she opened her eyes, the first thing Selena found was Ocean lying too close to her. Two seconds later, Selena's face was hot when she realized she was asleep on Ocean's arm.

It turned out that Selena was wrong, not just her sleeping position and Ocean made her wish for the floor to sink her. As Ocean codes Selena to see what is behind her, Selena is literally struck by lightning. His parents and Ocean's parents stood up while smacking smiles looking at their “kemesraan”.

Now that Selena knew, they no longer needed to act friendly. It came on its own without planning.

“He looks great, huh?”

Adira's voice blurs Selena's daydream. He turned his head, finding Adira who joined him in the dining room.

“As a child, Ocean looked normal like any other child. Play, whine, get angry if he does not get what he wants .. but by mid-primary, he has changed a lot.” Adira sighed, along with looking at the attention center of Selena who was chatting seriously with Galang and Robin in the living room. “To be honest I prefer Ocean which is ‘normal’, Selena.”

Adira's last sentence makes Selena feel a deep longing. A mother misses her child.

“I'm not saying being a brilliant and hardworking person is bad, but he ran too far. I find it very difficult to reach it.” Adira's gaze glared far away, recalling Ocean's childhood memory. “Ah, that sucks. Looks like his father's genes are too controlling. Outstanding businessperson, keen business instinct .. I'm really sick of hearing it.”

Selena laughed when she saw Adira puffing her cheeks. Mother Ocean is really adorable.

“Not just that, Mom. He's a real bitch, commanding handyman. ‘Selena, there are still pieces of paper on the floor’, ‘Selena, there is still dust on the window’, ‘Selena, wash the dishes, I am so sick of seeing it’ ... it feels like I want to wrap his mouth or throw him into the Musi.” River Selena grumbled, burning to recount her frustration.

“You feel it too, Selena? I even confiscated all his books because he didn't stop asking about business and economics in 5th grade at SD.”

In an instant, Selena and Adira become clop daughter-in-laws. They talk a lot about the ugliness of Ocean, laugh, look very exciting.

Lately he has been smiling a lot.

...****...

Almost ten in the evening, Ocean's house was quiet as guests returned to their homes. Selena with a lackluster movement cleaned the dining table, her eyes only half open.

“Isn't this the work name of rodi? Looks like you're a Daendels drip, Ocean.” Selena said heartfeltly, so sick of it all day just staring at the cleaning tools and frying board.

“Stop complaining and finish your task, Selena.” Ocean exclaimed fiercely, his hands busy rinsing the stacked dishes.

It's so bad Selena lives. His days were just filled with Ocean scolding, cooking, cleaning. The endless cycle that choked him. Where are shopping, manicure, and vacations? Selena felt like she was living in the colonial era.

“He's gone mad. I'm even crazier because I liked it.” Selena muttered, her hands still wiping the table though carelessly. “Revenge? I must have died silly before I could have done it.”

Ocean just finished rinsing all the dishes when his phone rang. The name on the phone screen made Ocean hurriedly lift it.

“Yes, Agatha. Is there a problem there?”

The agatha? Selena's eyes bought for a moment, disappeared already drowsiness. He immediately looked over, waiting for what was going on.

“Ah, it just so happens that today's cuisine has nothing left. Can I bring you?” Ocean clamped the phone with his shoulders and ears, his hands busy wiping the dishes.

Shall I bring it? Selena clucked violently, glancing at the cynical Ocean. From the tone of his voice alone there was already a striking difference when Ocean spoke to Selena and Agatha. Had the murder been legalized, Ocean would have been Selena's first victim.

After two or three more sentences, Ocean disconnected the phone. He hurried to pick up the lunchbox, putting some of the remaining food into it.

“You want to go to the hospital now?” Selena tried to control her voice to sound normal, stepping closer.

“Says Agatha is tired of hospital food, since noon she has not eaten anything.” Ocean was still busy pouring soup into the lunchbox.

“Then why should you bother? Is his friend just you?” Selena said sewot, forget about “be normal”, Agatha really provoked her emotions.

One of Ocean's eyebrows shot up, his hand movements halted. “Then I can't see him now?”

Selena gasps. Right, why is he acting so excessively? He cleared his throat, trying to cover up his misdeeds. “S-who won't let you? Just leave now, don't go home if you need to. You'd be a big help to me if you did that.”

Ocean gave a small laugh, arranged the lunchbox in a paper bag, then took the car keys. “Alright, take care of yourself, Selena. I'm going for a minute.”

Ocean's back that was getting away made Selena move uneasily. As Ocean was about to reach the door, Selena bit her lip, gulped her saliva, before speaking in a trembling voice.

“Do not go .... Don't meet Agatha, Ocean.”
