Selena's index finger stuck out the faint strokes of the wooden table before her as her mind floated, thinking about Ocean's words just a moment ago. Various sorts of questions floated in his mind, circling around as if he was trying to make his head explode.
“What is that kind of love statement? Ah, no, no. That sentence sounds ambiguous ...” Selena's index finger turned to press her temple, the harder she thought. “Creating hope, huh? Do you want to be in a relationship like a couple in general? She's she? That Ocean Arkananta?” Selena did not think.
Early in the morning, thinking of a dizzying affair, Selena's small brain was like emitting a billowing smoke.
“Oh, or he wants this marriage to be the hope of the nation. Maybe he wants to set up a social foundation by including my name in it. It must be.” Selena is actually also not sure about this deviated thought. However, no matter how small the odds were, Selena wanted to consider it so that if it were to be dropped miserably from the stars up there, she was already prepared. “True, don't be happy just yet, Selena. Remember, he plays you often. Don't act stupid then he'll laugh at you again.” Selena said steadily, clenching her hands as if she was strengthening her resolve.
Along with Selena ending her monologue, Ocean emerges from the kitchen, with two mouth-watering omelette dishes. Selena silently took a deep breath, trying to act natural.
“W-wah, I am already hungry.”
Shit, stammered.
Ocean smiled faintly at Selena's behavior, placed the plate on the table, thrusting one of them at Selena. “Need to lower the room temperature?”
“Why?”
“Looks like you're hot, your face is red.” Ocean grinned, deliberately teasing Selena.
Ha! Right, eh? Selena had guessed that Ocean really only wanted to mess around. He was happy to play tricks on her, laughing over her suffering. The idea of a social foundation now makes more sense.
“My skin is indeed sensitive.” Selena snorted, not interested in responding to Ocean any further.
“You want to take a short walk after breakfast?”
Selena complained inwardly, this change of Ocean made her worried as well as excited. Deadly Selena had to suppress a pleasant explosion in her chest. All of this is not yet clear juntrungannya.
“Alright if you force.” Selena allowed her hair child to cross her face, feeding the omelette. His sling arm was still removed because it seemed like today he would not move much.
Ten minutes of breakfast, Selena waits outside the villa while Ocean washes dishes and cooking utensils. Sweeping her gaze over the expanse of grass and lush trees soaring, Selena felt much calmer. For a moment, his mind was sidetracked by the peace nature offered there.
“You want to wear a hat?” Ocean appeared from behind the door.
“No need.”
“Master Ocean!”
Selena turned her head as the excited voice caught her ear. A man in his late sixties ran with a frenzied look towards them. The man's white hair twitched in the wind, as well as his red-colored blue T-shirt that was like it was about to tear with a light pull. However, the old line really did not fade his warm gaze. Selena could instantly feel the friendliness of the man.
“Pak Day!” Ocean hugged the man warmly, patting his shoulder a few times, laughing wide. “Bapak looks more fresh and dashing. I'm happy to see it.”
“Tuan Ocean's.” The turn of Day that patted Ocean's arm, laughed wider and wider. “And this ...”
With a movement as fast as a gust of wind, but laden with gentleness in it, Ocean grabbed Selena's hand, grasping her while pulling her slowly. “My wife, Selena.”
For God's sake, Selena's feet are feeling limp now. His stomach was shaking as if he was tickling something. Smiling stiffly, Selena forced her tongue to move. “S-happy meet with Mr. Hari.”
“Ah, correct. Miss Selena. I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend your wedding. Well, my old body can't compromise with long trips.”
Selena hurriedly shook her hands. “I'm wrong for not having his wedding party here, so Mr. Hari can come. Though the food at the party was delicious ..”
The terrace was filled with laughter.
“Pak Today Grandpa's best friend. He usually cleans the villa. You see those well-kept flowers, or that neatly trimmed grass, Selena? Mr. Hari did it all by himself. Great, isn't it?” Ocean stared intently at Hari to the point of making her rub her face in embarrassment.
“Master Ocean is indeed the most able to make this old man feel useful ...” Day once again patted Ocean's arm. “Ah, I'm interrupting, huh? Looks like you guys want to go out.”
“Just walk around here.”
After Hari was lost to the door, Ocean and Selena stepped onto the path that seemed to split open the spacious villa garden. The sky is almost cloudless, the sun is the ruler.
A gust of wind that felt soothing at all did not make the strange crackle in Selena's chest disappear, nor did the red tinge that poked on both of her cheeks. His eyes had since been fixed on his hand which was still in Ocean's grasp, yet to be released.
“Wait a minute.” Selena said softly, stopping Ocean's leisurely footwork.
“What's up?”
Sipping the saliva, Selena glanced at her hand at a glance, coding Ocean. “Can you please release?”
A small wrinkle appeared on Ocean's forehead, his eyes narrowing slightly. “You feel uncomfortable?”
“I feel strange and unfamiliar with your new attitude ...”
Selena's doubtful speech made Ocean faintly grin. “Then I will gladly get you used to it, Selena.”
Instead of letting go of Selena's hand, Ocean instead tightened his grip, pulling her gently as she stepped back. Without needing to look at Selena, Ocean knew the woman was blushing right now, trying to hide her by throwing her face away.
Ocean know .... He always knew.
Twelve minutes of walking without anyone intending to break the comfortable stretch between the two, they came to a place that made Selena widen her eyes in amazement. A lake that is not very big. The blue water looks very clear, especially combined with the view of the lavender flower garden next to it. Selena was amazed.
Ocean led him to a long white chair near the lake, with a lush apple tree with one or two fruits that are still green.
“I know you'll love it.” Ocean swept his gaze at the calm water surface of the lake.
Selena nodded, forgetting for a moment her hand that Ocean had not yet released. “I so want to swim—ah, forget swimming.” Selena steadied her heart to look at Ocean. “Let's talk about what you said earlier, Ocean. Today or not at all!”
Ocean turned his head, his eyes flashing with Selena's eyes. “You can ask anything. I'll answer it.”
“Soal creating hope in this marriage .. You're kidding, right?” Feeling that there was no point in making small talk, Selena immediately led to the main problem.
“No. I'm serious.” In contrast to the fiery Selena, Ocean answered casually—lewat relaxed, to make Selena doubt the answer.
“Why so suddenly?”
“Western dishes at the table, I choose to eat what is there rather than bother looking outside.”
Hells! What kind of upsetting answer is that?
“Good, take yourself seriously. But I also have the right to refuse, right?”
Ocean was silent for a moment, before finally saying, “You can always refuse, Selena. I have no intention of forcing you. If you want me to stop here, I'll let you go.”
Not to be left behind a joking look in Ocean's eyes. The iris looked more concentrated, deeper than it should have been.
“If you were married to another woman, would you do the same?” Selena's voice suddenly became a little raucous, like something was stuck in her throat.
Longitudinal. The rustling of the wind-blown twig became the melody of the tension that enveloped Selena, waiting for Ocean's reply.
Six seconds. Ocean finally let out his voice again, this time sounding heavy. “No. I just ate something I liked.”
The movement of Selena's hand that was about to grip the height of the chair came to a halt. Instead, he felt a chill all over his body. As she once again ventured to stare at Ocean, Selena was stunned. He found something in Ocean—'s eyes for the first time. A flash of doubt, it was as if he was standing on a thin rope that stretched over the abyss.
“You .. can think of it as a statement of love, Selena.”
