Mrs. Crazy And Mr. Perfects

Mrs. Crazy And Mr. Perfects
CHAPTER 39| STARLIGHT

Desing the passing vehicle became the background that accompanied Ocean's steps. Dark clouds covered the night sky, hiding the glittering stars and moonlight. There is no fresh air, only vehicle fumes that welcome the sense of smell.

Several times Ocean confirmed Selena's position on her back, stepping apart the slow-moving night wind. Selena on Ocean's back further submerged her face on Ocean's shoulder, concealing her chaotic self.

“Every time I suck like this, it's always you who sees it.” Selena muttered, wiping away the tears in the corner of her eyes.

The corner of Ocean's lips lifted, forming a faint smile. “Because I like it.”

Ocean's words managed to make Selena raise her face.

“I love it when I see you stop pretending, Selena. You don't have to put on a cheerful face, act like you're okay all the time. Showing your weak side doesn't mean you lose. Sometimes just by crying, roaring as much as possible, someone new can move on.”

Selena was stunned by the words Ocean said so casually. Stop feigning. How many masks have Selena worn? Smile in front of the camera as negative comments are directed towards him. It was revealed when some people who claimed to be friends, insinuated her as a bad actress in a joking tone. Even when everyone scoffs at her, bringing up all her flaws, Selena can still laugh in front of others. He should look fine.

Selena's whole life was filled with lies, pretense. In his world, tears mean defeat. To beg means despicable. So all this time, Selena as much as possible hid her tears in front of others, to then cry alone, shed on the floor of her room. He did not want to beg to be saved. He didn't want to look weak in front of everyone.

And right now, Ocean is breaking down all the stigma Selena has planted in her mind. He was the first to say that the weak were not seen by how many tears others could see.

“You eat ice cream?”

Selena's reverie blurred because of Ocean's question. He shook his head slowly before his gaze fell on the group of women on the side of the road. They whispered to each other, then smiled broadly while continuing to look at him and Ocean.

“Let me down here, Ocean. Everyone saw us.” Selena whispered, quickly turning her face away from the women.

“Why? We are not in a secret relationship or an affair. Looks like you also have to learn not to care about other people's views.”

Selena closed her eyes, again sinking her face into Ocean's shoulder. Warm. Selena had not realized this before, but now she could feel it clearly. The fading musk scent of Ocean's white shirt flowed a calm feeling that strangely made Selena feel better.

I don't know since when Ocean became the only thing Selena needed to heal her wounds.

“I once promised I'd take you somewhere.” Ocean turned towards Selena. “If I take you there tonight, you mind, Selena?”

...****...

“Where are we, Ocean?” Selena looked around, a faint frown appearing on her forehead.

Ocean's car had just pulled up in front of a classic-style villa, after driving for a full three hours. Interestingly, the villa is located on a super large land along the entrance decorated with lush trees and towering bamboo. Some owls can be seen perched on tree branches, visible from the light of the lights that illuminate the road.

Selena felt like they were in the woods, away from the settlements, towards a palace located in the heart of the forest. There exuded a calming aura as well as horror simultaneously. The temperature was much cooler than the city center, Selena complained about her clothes were not thick enough.

“Vila of my late grandfather.” Ocean chimed in briefly. “Wait here for a minute.”

Ocean who walked quickly into the villa. Selena turned her gaze to the garden fountain that looks charming, as well as the various types of flowers that are maintained there. Looks like this villa has a caretaker even though no one lives.

Ocean came out of the villa shortly afterwards, with a wide cloth in his hand. “Cabin, Selena.”

Selena complied, following Ocean who stepped towards the park. Though curious, Selena chose not to ask. He wanted to see what Ocean would do.

Arriving in the middle of the park where the grass is trimmed neatly, Ocean rolled the cloth there. She smiled faintly at Selena before lowering her body onto the cloth, lying on it.

“I told you I wanted to count stars with you, didn't I? Let's do it now.” Ocean patted the empty spot beside him, telling Selena to put herself there.

Closing her eyes for a moment, Selena finally imitated Ocean, lying beside him. As her gaze was fixed on the cloudless night sky, Selena was stunned. The sea of stars welcomed him, with the moon hanging as if to be ‘raj’ the stars.

Selena could not let go of her gaze from the imposing scene up there. “This is great ...”

Ocean smiled, confirming his sleeping position. “Let's start, Selena. The rules are still the same; every time you count one star, you also have to make peace with bad memories, unnecessary feelings that bother you.”

Selena's head was reached, finding the peaceful face of the Ocean that tonight felt very soothing. One small nod of Selena made Ocean's smile even wider, before she finally turned her eyes to the millions of beautiful spots in the sky.

“One.” Ocean spoke softly, looked at one point of the star, then closed his eyes. He was summoning a bad memory, exploring every second of that moment, as if he was currently there.

Ten seconds, Ocean opened his eyes, exhaling a long breath. One burden in his heart had broken, Ocean had made peace with that memory.

Ocean's face that looks “light” that makes Selena try to do something similar. He focused his gaze on one star, whispering, “One,” then his eyes closed slowly.

The first thing that appeared in his mind was Felix's face the last time Selena saw him. Disappointment, despair, and hurt the man is now clearly seen Selena— something that he missed earlier noticed. Guilt again hit Selena, more concentrated than before, to make a tear drop from the corner of her eye.

But then, the memory of him and Felix laughing along with a warm highlight suddenly burst forth. That laugh, that look of the face ... Selena can remember it clearly. No hate, no lara. There is only happiness there.

Selena's stunned. Right, everyone can choose. Hating or making peace. Bad memories are also part of their journey, but tonight, Selena will choose to remember beautiful things about Felix. He would put Felix in the corner of his mind, with the cover of his smiling face bright.

Selena's eyes opened slowly. Miraculously, his mood also became much better. He turned to Ocean, smiling widely as he saw the man closing his eyes.

Alright. Selena went back to looking for another star, speaking louder than ever. “Two.” And another bad memory re-emerged in Selena's head.

As Selena sank into her thoughts, Ocean stole a glance at her, then a smile fell on her face. Selena looked very serious, and it made Ocean feel relieved.

“Fifty dela—you're done?” Selena's gaze poked with Ocean as she turned her head for a moment.

“It seems like the problems in your life are a lot, Selena. I didn't even reach ten.”

Selena grunts—signaling she's fine now. “I even counted the memories of the caterpillar.”

Ocean's laughter sounded after him. Her hair was moving in the night wind. Along with her slightly narrowed eyes, there appeared a small dimple on her left cheek— something Selena had just seen the first time because Ocean had rarely laughed as loose as now.

Either because of the starlight or because of the peaceful atmosphere in that place, Ocean's laughter pulled out something that was stored tightly in a special space in Selena's heart.

“There's one more thing I want to let go of.” Selena looked at Ocean, quietly swallowing the saliva. “Although you already know, I will say it.”

Ocean turned completely towards Selena.

“The first letters of the letters I wrote to you .. form a word that I really want to keep alone.” Selena bit her lips, her voice slightly quivering.

Ocean was speechless, knowing the mouth of this conversation.

Scavenging the remaining courage, gazing at the increasingly clingy and deep Ocean, Selena whispered, “Daisuki, Ocean.”

There was nothing Ocean could do but flinch in his place. He did not expect such a surprise at all.

Seven letters. The first seven letters. Daisuki's. I like you a lot.
