Mrs. Crazy And Mr. Perfects

Mrs. Crazy And Mr. Perfects
CHAPTER 45| WINNERS

The knocks of the heels back sounded, blurring the pitch. Selena took a step back with an expression that did not change much.

“Can't this be called a masterpiece? Who could have thought that the perfect Ocean Arkananta could fall in love with a woman you once considered a fool like me. Doesn't that mean I did everything really well?” Selena chuckled, smothering haughtily.

Ocean was still unmoved where he stood, staring straight at Selena. Undeniably, he was like being hit by a hard rock right on his head.

Selena's laughter vanished in an instant along with a joking highlight that didn't leave her trace behind. The bright brown iris that normally radiates warmly, now sends a freezing chill. Selena has a perfect stranger.

“This is the peak show, Ocean. I've been looking forward to it for a long time.” There was no sneering, no booing laughter, Selena seemed to be awakening the side of her that she had been burying all along. “When you start to build a dream with me that becomes the most important part, when you believe once that I will walk by your side, then I will make you feel what despair is. When you risk everything for your feelings, then I will throw you away like a useless item. My dreams are that simple ..”

Not a word came out of Ocean's lips. He still faithfully listened to Selena's words, letting her take out everything she wanted to let go.

“I told you, didn't I, if this marriage had no hope? There will never be a happy ending to a story that shouldn't have existed in the first place. You've lost, I'm not the real winner.” A flash of wounded highlight adorned Selena's eyes, the arrogance that had been thick on her face since then, seemed to fade a little. “Send divorce papers to me immediately. I'm sick of this stupid wedding.”

Even at the end of her sentence, Selena turned around. There was nothing more he wanted to do there, nor did he feel enough to bestow all speech. It was time for her to go, far away, and never to return to Ocean's house again.

Just five steps away, Selena stopped her footwork when Ocean's raucous voice rang out behind her.

“Why are you leaving, Selena? I haven't congratulated you.”

Selena closed her eyes, not wanting to turn around to look at Ocean's face.

“For your hard work so far, shouldn't I at least need to clap?”

The slow pace made Selena grip the end of her dress.

Ocean stood a few steps behind Selena, deliberately taking some distance. For a moment, he swept his gaze at Selena's beautiful hair, before speaking in a soft tone, “You did well. The revenge ... I think you have reached your dream.”

Time stopped as silence became the only foothold for Ocean and Selena to stay in place.

“Actually start since when ...?” A voice full of bitterness that seems to be the command of the ticking of time. “I'm not even sure when exactly I always get worried when you're not in my eyes, looking forward to the times I'll spend with you, then we have a little argument about the dinner menu. When commencement? When we go to Labuan Bajo? When you got tangled in the Olivia case? Or maybe even while we're in Alaska? Can you help me guess it, Selena?”

The flickering turn of Selena. Only her slowly moving hair was blown away from the open window.

“If you want to destroy me this way, then I can say you chose the right path. You'll be the winner. Single winner.” Ocean smiled bitterly, making his face even more sad. “But divorce papers? Unfortunately I can't do it. Even though you won, you can't have fun alone.”

For the sake of hearing Ocean's words, Selena turned her head with widened eyes, throwing a sharp spotlight.

“I can't divorce you. It never will. You may file it in court, but I can assure you, I will win.”

Selena's hands clenched as she found Ocean still staring straight at her. “Truly does not make sense!” Selena hissing. “Alright, do whatever you want. Let's determine the winner in the next round.”

The end of his sentence carried with it the sound of the knocking of heels floating on the ceiling of the room. With her wide strides, Selena galloped away from there. But just four steps away, he bit his lip as he felt his legs tighten. There was nothing to hold back her body that was like wanting to collapse, so Selena closed her eyes, forcing herself to endure.

The tightness that he had been holding was getting thicker felt on each leg swing. His eyes were heating up, his sanity seemed to be forcibly snatched away by the thousands of prayers that hit right at his heart. Selena felt like she was lying on a sickly bed, waiting for her life to be uprooted in a moment.

Successfully dragging her feet to reach the door, as soon as a beeping sound rang out, signaling the door was again closed, Selena rumbled away instantly, stunned in endless defeat. While hitting his chest which became the mouth of the entire pain, he smothered his mouth as the tears did not stop descending, sliding down his red dress.

Today, for the first time, Selena can act really well.

...****...

Selena's hand moved to reveal the hood hood covering part of her face, revealing a blackened eye bag and a pale face. Selena knew, this time the conversation did not bring good news for her.

Someone had been waiting for Selena at one of the tables. Despite the dimness in every inch of the restaurant that looked lonely, since there were only the two of them, Selena could see the person smilingly welcoming her.

“Welcome, Selena. Sorry to bother you like this.”

Agatha. The woman looked beautiful in her long dress. Different from Selena who looks gloomy, Agatha's face is actually radiant. The inherent elegance of the way he looks at others, even his gesture that always looks calm.

Sighing in a faint breath, Selena placed herself across from Agatha's chair, looking at her excitedly.

“You want to order something?” Agatha asked kindly.

Selena shook her head. He didn't go there because he wanted to eat or drink something.

“Alright, looks like you don't want to talk, huh?” Agatha improved her sitting position. “Let's talk about Ocean, Selena. But before that, I want to apologize to you. Your photo and Felix scattered in the media .. I did it.”

Not surprising— altogether. Since the beginning Selena had suspected Agatha did it.

“I really feel guilty because of it. However, as I told you, I will do everything for Ocean. I can't let him plunge into the abyss alone, suffering alone.” Agatha's face changed. He seemed to regret his foolish actions in Boston, so the rumors of the affair ranted intensely. “And you must have known if I have not given any statement regarding the matter.”

Selena's heart beats twice as fast. He knows—oh, really he knows where this conversation will end.

“I could have dismissed the news, just like Ocean did. Statements of both parties are needed to change public opinion. Now, they must be wondering if my relationship and Ocean are just good friends? So why haven't I spoken up yet if no one wants to be covered?” Agatha's tone of voice was completely stable and showed no emotion, like a person who was good at controlling situations. “Actually, if I'm honest, I want to confess that we had an affair, Selena. Who knows, I could really have Ocean that way.”

A moment's stretch. The atmosphere in the restaurant was increasingly gripping for Selena who played her fingers under the table nervously.

“But this time ...” Agatha's gaze suddenly became serious. “I want to give you my step, depending on which choice you will take.”

There's no way out. Selena is really stuck in Agatha's game.

“I don't know that you've been holding hands, looking at each other with the same feeling. Every night I even think about it, about how you can capture the Ocean that is like the most distant star for me to reach. I'm too cool, feel better than you, not knowing that one's feelings don't just compromise on perfection. To be honest, the winner is you, Selena. I'm just a loser trying to reach the stars in the most cunning way.”

Agatha lowered her gaze. Selena knew the expression was not made up. All the words that slid from Agatha's lips came from her heart.

“But anyway, I can't see Ocean with anyone else, not you or any other woman. If I can't stand by his side, then no one should do it.”

Firmness filled Agatha's eyes, obliterating the machete that was about to overwhelm her.

“You know, no, if I admitted to the news, Ocean would have a hard time dealing with everything. Although the capabilities of the business and its management are admirable, the options about the destruction of that company remain. Not to mention about how others would look at Ocean after that. Hasn't Ocean been doing a lot for you, even exceeding the limit, Selena? Don't you think it's time you sacrificed for her? I promise I will dismiss the news of the affair, tell you what really happened in Boston, but you also have to do something.”

In a very short time before Agatha continued her words, memories of Ocean scrambling filled Selena's head. But this time, the memories projected pain, spreading a wound at each breath. The farewell that had been imagined every time Selena saw her future with Ocean, now only a step away. Tonight, goodbye was felt on the tip of Selena's tongue.

“Leave Ocean, Selena. Let him live without you by his side.”
