“Oh, you're home early, Ocean.”
Ocean did not have time to breathe a sigh of relief seeing Selena was fine. He immediately stepped towards Selena who was standing with a buffet containing two drinks, five meters in front of her.
Without saying anything, Ocean took over the buffet, putting it on the table. And before Selena could make another sound, Ocean had already grabbed her hand, hiding Selena behind her back.
“Pak David Tan, what do you need here?” Ocean asked coldly to David Tan who was sitting in the living room together with a man who looked like a bodyguard.
“Ah, Mr. David—” Selena poked her head behind Ocean's back, about to step beside him. But the man tightened his grip, as if to code Selena to stay behind his back. “Eh, Mr. David just excited me, Ocean, about the rumors circulating now ...”
“True, Mr Ocean. I'm a big fan of Selena.” David Tan chimed in with a calm voice, smiling. “That rumor must have made things difficult for Selena. I just want to make sure that Selena is okay.”
Ocean is still putting on a cold look, obviously not believing a single dime in David's bullshit. He knew the fat man was trying to do something to Selena, making her the scapegoat in Olivia's case.
The editor-in-chief that Ocean had seen at the restaurant, obviously one of David's pawns to further corner Selena by publishing the news they had planned. Selena's current position looks weak, the public is still attacking her, because the police are still trying to gather evidence. David took advantage of this opportunity to wash his hands, leave everything to Selena by herding public opinion.
“Thank you for taking such great care of my wife, sir. But I can confirm that Selena will be fine. Won't I let something bad happen to her.” Ocean spoke with great emphasis on his last sentence, indicating that he was not playing around. No one will be able to touch Selena.
Behind Ocean, Selena lowered her head, rubbing her hot cheeks.
“I feel calm hearing it, Mr.” David's smile grew wider, he could control his body's gestures to keep looking calm. “Ah, Selena, may I borrow your script for a moment? I just want to make sure once again that my product is placed in the right situation and gets a strong dialogue.”
Ocean's eyebrows shot up along with the appearance of a thin frown on his forehead. For a second, he grinned. Looks like Selena's script was the main purpose of David's arrival to his house. There's something in that script.
“Seben—” Movement Selena who was about to turn over, took the script in her room stopped when Ocean did not release her hand grip. “Ocean?”
Not yet had Ocean told Selena to stay in place, the phone in her suit pocket vibrating. Without taking a look from David, Ocean picked up the phone, directly connected to someone across the street.
“Pak, there is a problem. It turns out that the police chief we reported anonymously is still a relative of David Tan. They won't move to check on David Tan.” Noah's voice sounded riled up.
Ocean closed his eyes while exhaling a faint breath. This affair becomes very complicated, David can always find a gap to escape. And about the blood-stained shirt, Ocean believes David burned it to the ground after getting information from the police chief. The scratches on the hands no longer mean anything without the shirt.
But at least with Noah's anonymous call, David doesn't know who's reporting to the police.
“And there's good news, sir. Olivia has already shown a response to the stimuli. It is estimated that soon he will wake up from a coma.”
Ocean's water changed, his face stiffened. Without saying a word, he immediately disconnected the phone. He saw David and his bodyguards take turns, before Ocean said, “Sorry, Mr. David. Looks like me and Selena have to go somewhere soon. If you don't mind, we can chat again next time.”
The loyal hospitality adorning David's face vanished slowly. But then, he displayed a stiff smile, nodding. “Good. It'll be nice to talk to you guys next time. I excuse.”
After the door closed, Ocean immediately turned his head towards Selena, exclaiming, “So soon grab your script, Selena. I'll take you to Felix.”'s apartment
...****...
Ocean stared fixedly at Selena, the situation around them increasingly tense. “Listen carefully, Selena. Don't open the door for anyone, stay in there with Felix, and keep the script well. You should stay here until I pick you up.”
After making sure Selena got inside Felix's apartment, Ocean immediately ran back to his car. The time is getting narrower now. He should be in the hospital soon.
Twenty minutes into the woods, breaking his own record in driving speed, Ocean parked his car carelessly in front of the hospital. She immediately ran to the nurse's desk, asking for Olivia's treatment room number.
Not taking a breath after the nurse mentioned her number, Ocean was like a doormat, scooping the passers-by, running as fast as he could.
Ocean snorts loudly when he finds a policeman on duty to guard outside the treatment room Olivia is already lying on the floor, unconscious. He had expected that David would also move quickly.
In one rude gesture, Ocean opened the door of Olivia's room, making the sound of the door humming sound loud. And Ocean clenched his hands tightly when he found a man dressed as a doctor about to inject something into Olivia's infusion tube. The man was shocked to see the arrival of Ocean, completely unexpected.
Without waiting any longer Ocean leapt up a kick towards the hand of the man who was holding the injection, making the sharp object fall to the floor. Not giving a pause in his attack, Ocean aimed his fist at the man's cheek, making him stagger into the nightstand, making the items on it fall joking to the floor.
When Ocean once again wanted to swing his fist, the man had dodged while pulling out the dagger tucked in his pants.
“Ah, fuck. Again I have to deal with the knife.” Ocean put up the horses, preparing to receive an attack.
The man had brandished his dagger with a standby position. For a second, he had jumped while pointing his dagger at Ocean's face, hissing.
As if already waiting for the man's attack, Ocean did not dodge. Instead, he brushed off the hand that was unsheathing the dagger. As the man was pushed back, Ocean slid up while jumping by pointing his right knee at the man's face.
Bugs!
Fresh blood came out of the man's nose. His head felt so dizzy, before a second later he collapsed to the floor. His body drooped, the dagger slipping from his hand.
Ocean managed to secure the situation.
The new Ocean wanted to relax for a moment, when the tail of his eyes caught Olivia who had opened her eyes. Hurriedly he approached, making sure Olivia was fully conscious, before then pressing the nurse call button.
This time Ocean could really exhale a sigh of relief. Olivia's testimony as a victim became the most powerful weapon to imprison David Tan. Selena will be forever free from this case.
“Wait a minute, Olivia. Doctor will be here soon.” Ocean smiled gently, trying to control his wheezing breath.
Just as Ocean was about to press the nurse call button again, Olivia's eyes suddenly puffed up, her hands as if they were about to grab Ocean. And a second after, Olivia was already shouting as the dagger swung towards the Ocean.
Sreth!
