Pamite
68. Meet

One year later.

It is not easy for Anang to get through the day by day accompanied by cancer that is getting worse. Cancer that has entered the final stage makes Anang more often sickly. The head that has no hair, the body that is getting thinner dry, often unconscious, has become an everyday friend of Anang.

"Mas, so go to Ayu's house?"

"Yes, I'm afraid that my surgery failed and I didn't get a chance to meet the kids. I haven't seen them in two years."

Yes, Anang who had come to Ayu's house right on her wedding day, no longer came to the woman. His intentions that will come a few months after his wedding somehow he puffed up. He continued to delay his arrival until finally two years they had not met.

"By the way, anyway. That's all right, Mom. At the end of the year I want to get married, forget you? I only have you the same Galuh. Don't make me lose my spirit with your words," Fadil's honest tirade was caught off guard by Anang's despair.

"Yes, yeah. I am angry doang. When do you want to leave?"

Fadil then pushed Anang's wheelchair out of the house. For several months, Anang did not get out of a wheelchair because of the increasingly weakened state.

An increasingly thin body, a head that no longer has a single hair. The face that is getting more and more pale. Anang did not want to live longer with conditions like this. He was willing to undergo surgery simply because he wanted to take his own death. Because he knew the operation to be performed a few months away Anang's chances of succeeding were only fifty percent. Fifty percent is death.

While on the road there is not much they talk about. Anang just kept silent while staring at the trees and buildings towering by the roadside.

There are no regrets in Anang's life. He has revealed whatever happened to him. There is something he should be grateful for at a time like this. He succeeded in fulfilling his promise to his mother. He has seen the success and change of his two brothers. Already saw the happiness of Ayu and her children. Likewise with Winda and his son who is also happy with his new family. There was no more burden to think of when his days were coming to an end.

"We're here, Mom. I think it's rame at the house of Madam Ayu. Again on a gathering, regular weekend." Fadil unlocked his seatbelt and got out of the car. He was a little misbehaved when many pairs of eyes were staring at him from inside Ayu's house.

"Assalamualaikum," said Fadil and Anang simultaneously.

"Waalaikumsalam, Father," cried Alif running towards Anang and hugging him. Both of his sisters did the same.

No one moved from their seats. All staring at the child and the father who was hugging raked to quench the longing thirst that had long peaked in the head.

While Anang was the same, he could not say anything. His tongue feels stiff and stiff just to say 'Daddy longs'. Only tears continued to flow in his brazen manner.

"Dad I miss Daddy," said Alif with a sob. "Why don't you ever come home?" Alif is still sobbing.

"Dad misses you too, dear. Daddy misses you guys. How are you guys doing? Healthy, right? I'm sorry you never came here. I'm busy, sorry." Anang put his three children back in his arms.

Anang looked at Agil and Anin alternately. Among his three children, only Anin who seemed still confused by the situation.

Jaka who had just been silent finally raised his voice. Many questions have sprung up in his head regarding Anang's condition which is much more concerning than it was a year ago.

"Kok Dad was left at the door, anyway? Let's give Dad a way to get in the house, honey." Jaka stood up and helped Anang to enter.

While Ayu stood up and walked to the back to make a drink. Anang's eyes were still fixed on his pregnant ex-wife.

"How many months?" anang asked Jaka while pointing his chin towards Ayu who was walking backwards.

"It's been six months. Alhamdulillah is still in love with the same sustenance above, Nang. How's nolaknya?" jaka asked back with a chuckle.

A moment later, Ayu came with a tray containing drinks and various snacks. Ayu also looked pity at her ex-husband who looked like he was not okay.

"Dad, are you sick again?" alif asked suddenly who indirectly represented Jaka and Ayu.

"No, I'm healthy. Does Dad look sick? I'm kurusan's father, yes. Yes Dad is thinner now, but it's okay, Dad is healthy," Anang replied with a smile.

Different things were shown by Fadil. The man's face looked gloomy as if something was being hidden. While his children were engrossed with his father, Ayu covered towards Fadil who was sitting by the door.

"Can we talk for a second?" tanya Ayu touched Fadil's shoulder.

The man nodded quickly and walked out of the house following Ayu's steps. Then they sat on a terrace chair separated by a round table.

"Honestly Ma'am, is there something you're hiding?" Ayu asked without further ado.

Fadil was silent for a moment, sighing deeply and, "Mas Anang is sick. Not long after the accident and left the house, Mas Anang in the verdict of brain cancer. And now it's the final stage."

"What?" sahut Ayu was so shrewd, barely audible. "Is this why you guys haven't been here in the last two years?" ask Ayu later.

"Actually we've been here, but the day was right on the wedding day of Mbak same Mas Jaka. Mas Anang did not want to enter, because he said he was afraid of ruining the event Mbak. I've persuaded him to at least meet his children. But Mas Anang kekeh to take home. After that, Mas Anang's condition got worse and worse. The doctor suggested surgery, but Mas Anang refused. He threatened that if I kept forcing him into surgery, he wouldn't seek treatment. I had no choice but to follow what he said. Mas Anang was very difficult to tell. He was bored and there was no more desire to heal. I know so Mas Anang wasn't easy, I was never in his position. That's why I as his sister only gave the best for him. Trying to give her what she asks."

"Why didn't you tell me the same mom? Ma'am can definitely help persuade him to get well."

"He asked me not to tell you about this. I beg you the same Ma'am. Don't talk about this the same Mas Anang. Or Mas Anang will change his mind again. He will have surgery in a few months" Fadil said at length.
