Returning Place

Gina plunged her feet into the river that flowed beneath her. The coldness touched the skin of his feet but it gave a fresh sensation. Small fish swim in groups in pursuit. Gina liked to see that and remembered the pond in Surya's house with red-colored koi fish there.

Memories with Surya at his home came back. Gina smiled to herself remembering moments that made her look silly but at the same time made her happy. Surya can make him so happy. Even with just a simple thing, talking to her, eating together and watching her sleep asleep can make her feel flowery.

Gina took a heavy breath and blew it away. The atmosphere slowly became dim. His shadow that was sitting on a rock at the edge of the river had almost faded. A few days here made him start to get to know this place. And seeing this river made him want to go down there. His water which was extremely clear and gave off a gurgling sound as it flowed was enough to calm his heart.

"I'm glad you're here." A sudden sound from behind her and made Gina almost jump in shock.

"Oh my God!!!" Gina held onto her chest with a heart beat that spontaneously jumped.

Surya smiled at Gina's reaction to her arrival. Gina looked at Surya who was now sitting next to her, took off his shoes and also threw his feet into the river. Feeling noticed by Gina, Surya turned to her with a smile.

"You wonder why I know?" Said Surya still with a smile that never escaped his lips.

"You have a spy who's been tailing me?" Gina asked Surya's gaze back.

"It can be said that."

"Did you hack my phone?" Gina took the phone in the back pocket of her jeans and saw that her phone was still dead.

"Would the intelligence agency you paid for also be able to hack information from dead phones?"

"I have many ways to get what I want, Miss."

"Well, that's so arrogant." Gina smiled sinisterly as she turned her gaze forward looking at the bamboo grove across the river.

Surya was still facing Gina and again felt relieved to find her presence. As he gets information from Hanna about Gina possibly vacationing in Bali then his men who are there report that there is no sign of Gina. Somehow but Surya thought that the bali he told Hanna was not the name of the place but the name of the food he liked. And the first he ate bali is the cuisine of Surya's mother.

"Father..." Surya greeted Ayu from his cell phone connection yesterday.

"Is Gina there?"

"Nothing, Mom." Ayu replied and it made Surya limp because the hope could find Gina who was wanting to eat her mother's cooking that attracted Gina to come to her hometown was extinct.

"Indeed Gina's mother's phone why, Mas. Why not call her phone directly?" Hearing that Surya was silent for a moment digesting Ayu's sentence. Because from Ayu's words that he heard, it's possible that Gina was actually there.

"Somehow, maybe the battery's out or there's no signal, when I'm calling the phone's off." Surya is still trying to lure Ayu. He does not want Ayu to know he is losing Gina who went somewhere. If he finds out maybe Ayu will report to both parents and they will think something is not good with both. It could make her parents panic and would ask her a lot of things so that the problem would get worse before Surya explained.

"Do I need to tell Ms. Gina that you want to talk to her to get her to activate the phone?" From what Surya heard this time he immediately breathed a sigh of relief because he was sure that Gina was in his home in the village.

"No, no. Let it. I might be able to call her soon." Surya finally answered.

For some reason Gina did this, going to Surya's hometown without her and without saying goodbye anyway. What does he want to do in this place where Surya came from without him? Is it true because he is missing Balinese cuisine made by his mother or is there something else that clearly Gina certainly does not want him to know what the reason is to go to his hometown today in such a way this one?

"Not close. Keep distance. You need to keep your safe distance from me. Because I could've liked you more if you just kept paying attention to me like this. I have a heart so don't always make you wish." Gina said next. Surya did not answer anything Gina said, he just listened and looked at Gina carefully. Seeing that Gina became annoyed because there was no response whatsoever from Surya. And that made him leave that place.

Seeing Gina getting out of her place in a hurry, Surya followed her. But she had to be left behind by Gina for taking her shoes off and also Gina's sandals that were left behind.

"Miss, wait." Shouted Surya who climbed a stone staircase from the river below the village road. But Gina ignored him and walked barefoot. Surya caught up with him by hand with his shoes and Gina's sandals.

"Miss, put the sandals on first. You could get hurt. Rocky road. Your feet can hurt." Persuade Surya who runs parallel to him.

Successfully, Gina stops and takes her sandal from Surya's hand and wears it and goes back to walking regardless of herself. Surya is still walking beside Gina who looks very angry at him.

"Stop." Gina Seru. Surya stopped following Gina's instructions.

"What's wrong, Miss."

"We have to keep our distance. Don't come near me."

"But, Miss..."

"Miss, the streets are dark here. You can fall down if you walk alone."

From where he stood he had seen Surya pedaling his bike further and Gina was getting creepy. The dark and lonely road beside his right and left was only overgrown with bamboo groves. Because it was not able to stand the creepy atmosphere, Gina also ran as hard as she could to get to the residential area. And after running some distance, Gina finally started mamsuki village area. "Hi, Miss..." Gina who was still sitting crouched down tired and panting immediately turned to the source of the voice that greeted her. What he found was Surya with two empty bowls.

"What are you doing there?" Ask Surya.

"You... Why get out of there?"

"I want to buy meatballs."

"But that bowl?"

"Yes, so that the meatball brother does not have to wait. So I brought my own bowl." Gina stood up from her seat crouched down and approached Surya who had handed over the bowl to be filled by the meatball brother.

"Whose house?" Finally asked Gina at the house where Surya came out the gate earlier.

"My house." Surya replied casually.

"Your house?" Gina turned her eyes to the tropical modern-style house. He had seen such a model house in a property agent catalogue when he was walking into a property exhibition in a shopping mall.

The house that Gina saw from outside the fence as a house with many glass windows with on the front and side. Then the terrace there is a pair of long chair tables made of wood on which hung the lights are quite bright. "Hey, who wants to come with you." Gina replied indifferently while turning her eyes to the meatball brother who started walking while pushing the cart to return to selling around.

"You really set me up." Gina muttered and made Surya hold back laughter at the accusation of the woman in front of him.

"Quick miss, this bowl is quite hot." Surya holds a bowl filled with meatballs with a puff of hot steam on it and enters the fence.

Gina looked at Surya who was walking behind her and then hesitated to enter as well. His feet stepped on a concrete path leading to a house that Surya said was his home.

"Is it because you really miss your mother's artificial eggs or because..." Surya hung up his sentence and made Gina look at him out of curiosity with Surya's next words.

"... want to avoid me?" Gina put down her spoon.

"Not both." Gina replied slowly but it felt cold when Surya heard it.

"I came here because I had to keep you near me." Surya looked at Gina straight with the incomprehension he currently had over the sentence of the woman in front of him.
