Gina looked at her face in the mirror. What he caught from the mirror image was his face. She had already changed her wet dress due to the rain.
"Miss, are we going to spend the night here or come back home?" Surya asked who had just appeared from behind the door. They're still in the hotel room.
Hearing Surya's voice, Gina remembered the events of their party that was dashed by rain. And also, how Surya hugged her who was crying. He shuddered himself remembering that.
"You forgot the deal we made?" Gina answered who still had not turned her face away from the front of the mirror. Surya who heard that frowned as if digesting the direction Gina spoke.
"I still remember every point, Miss." Surya replied then calmly as usual.
"Then, why are you touching me so many times today? You want me to sue you legally for breaking the agreement?" This time Gina looked at Surya from the reflection of the mirror in front of her. From there he could see Surya standing in front of the closed door with a steady attitude as usual. Sometimes Gina thinks what used to be Surya aspires to be a soldier because of his sturdy attitude like the attitude of the soldiers complete with serious faces like troops who are in ceremony. Occasionally Gina also said maybe Surya is a robot. It's like he doesn't have much expression. What Gina often saw was Surya being quiet and serious. It is rare to see Surya smiling and never to see Surya talking at length let alone laughing.
Currently the technology is very sophisticated, does not rule out the possibility of a robot can be very similar to humans. Gina thinks so surely because she watches too many Hollywood movies. Robocop, Terminator and many of the movies he watched had story ideas using robots as his role objects. Considering Surya is very obedient and has a disciplined attitude, Gina becomes suspicious that he may be a robot programmed specifically to serve his family.
Like this time, Surya was acting calm as if there was nothing important to make him riled up.
"I'm sorry, Miss. I'm just trying to save you."
"OK, when it almost fell on the stairs it was supposed to be. But, hugging me?" Gina glared at Surya with an angry pitched voice.
"I feel I have to protect you from the sight of many people that you're crying."
"Then what if people know I'm crying?" Gina demanded an explanation. Seen from his increasingly high tone of speech.
"You are the bride so you must look happy on a day as important as this."
"I'm happy or not it's none of your business. Don't give a shit about me. I've told you many times that I married you because it was a condition to get an R-Company. So don't act like you're a husband. You understand, don't you?"
"Yes, Miss." Surya nodded in understanding.
"Let's go home. We have no reason to be here. Don't dream you and I could spend the first night together. I'm not crazy to do it with you." Gina clutched her bag on the dresser and moved from where she was sitting. Surya followed behind him.
Seeing that Surya is now like Gina's bodyguard. Obey and follow everything Gina wants.
Gina's courtyard was deserted. It's late at night. Gina's parents must have fallen asleep because they've been home since. A long and exhausting series of events they also do. Welcoming and accompanying the invited guests also drain their energy.
Gina entered the house with the key she had. Surya put his car into the garage at the back of the house with the magnificent building.
Today was not only exhausting for Gina but also annoying. His busy day full plus the bonus of watching the intimacy of Faris and Sunday who attended his party made it like getting an unexpected gift. He secretly regretted why he had to invite them both. It really made Gina jealous.
Gina lay her body on the bed and stared at the ceiling of her room when the door was knocked.
"Who is knocking on the door. Don't let it be a robot man." Gutu Gina while getting up to open the door.
"Miss..." Surya was standing behind the door. Gina snorted in annoyance.
"What else is it? Didn't we agree not to sleep in one room. Read our agreement again." Gina said annoyedly.
"I remember Miss, but there's no room for me here."
"Who told you that. There are plenty of rooms in this house and wear them wherever you want."
"All rooms are locked, miss."
"Oh yeah? There's never been a locked room here except an inhabited one. You don't make excuses to room with me." Omelette Gina.
"But all the rooms are locked, Miss."
"really? I guess you just wanted to trick me into rooming with me." Gina walked to the room beside her. He turned the doorknob and right, the room was locked. Gina moved again to the room at the end of the second-floor hallway and was locked as well.
"What are you doing?" Suddenly there was a heavy sound from the direction of the stairs. Gina caught Mr. Rangga's face.
"This is what you need?" Mr. Rangga lifted a bundle of keys in his hand.
"So Papa did it?"
"Of course."
"Why did you suddenly lock all the rooms in this house?" Gina actually knew exactly what her father meant to do that.
"Of course not to do that." Mr. Rangga pointed to Gina's hand which was still holding the handle of the room door with both hands because she tried to open it earlier. Instantly Gina took off her handrails.
"Surya, rest. You must be tired." Mr. Rangga's orders to Surya who is still standing upright in front of Gina's room door with a suitcase beside him.
"Where? My room?" Ask Gina to panic.
"of course. Your husband's. He's gotta sleep there."
"No, she can't be in my room."
"Where does a husband and wife sleep in separate places? Me and your mama were married for years never slept in different places."
"No, I'm not used to sleeping in the room with anyone else." Gina looks for a reason.
"I mean he's too foreign to me."
"Where are you from? You've known him long enough."
"No, I can't, Pa. I can't let Surya sleep in my room. He's a man and I'm a woman. That's not good." Gina's words are getting ridiculous. Mr. Rangga knows Gina will say various reasons not to be in one room with Surya.
"Where is no good for a husband and wife who sleep in one room? You think I'm stupid and fool me like that? I'm still too sane to be as stupid as your expectations. Never mind, Surya needs a break. Let him in and sleep." Mr. Rangga is firm.
"Surya, come in." Pak Rangga's Order.
"Wait.wait..." Gina half ran over to Surya who started taking one step forward to enter Gina's room.
"What else? You really want to lose R-Company by breaking the rules?"
"Rules? What rules again?" Gina rounded her eyes.
"Didn't you promise to follow all the rules so you could take over the company?"
"So, this also includes rules?"
"Of course."
"Alright, let's agree in writing tomorrow the rules I must abide by." Gina demands.
"There's no need, because I'm the rule you have to follow and you obey."
"What's? Why that? That's not fair. It'll be something that sounds flexible and Papa will make rules that might hurt me."
"I am your Father. No sensible parent wants to harm their child. So, don't worry. I won't inflict any harm on you."
"All right. all right. I follow the rules." Said Gina giving in but with a very arrogant feeling. It really sucks to face her arbitrary Papa. Were it not for R-Company, he would have preferred to leave this house instead of having to sleep one room with Surya.
"Good, now sleep inside."
"Good, sir."
"Wait a minute..." Surya looked at Gina who looked annoyed.
"Why what? Come back to Papa's room quickly. I'll let Surya sleep in my room. Papa don't worry."
"really?" Mr. Rangga investigated like he could not trust his daughter.
"You sure you won't drive Surya away after I get out of here?"
"Yes, I wouldn't do that."
"alright. I'll check the cctv. So don't be so fucking alone." Show Mr. Rangga on one corner of the roof there is a cctv camera.
"Yes... " Answer Gina is lazy.
"And you're Surya. Don't call me sir. I'm not your boss anymore. I'm your father-in-law. Call me Papa."
"Good, Pa." Surya replied still sounding stiff.
"Well, that sounds better." After that Mr. Rangga went down to the first floor to go to his own room.
Gina looked down from the front of the room to make sure Mr. Rangga had actually come down and headed for his room.
"Don't be too happy with Papa's treatment of allowing you to sleep in my room."
"No Miss."
"Before entering my room, you must promise me a few more things."
"What is that, Miss?"
"First, we will never sleep in the same bed. I'm in bed and you're in a chair." Gina Clear.
"None right."
"Second, don't carelessly look at me while I sleep. Third, don't dirty my room with your stuff. All the closets are filled with my clothes and all my gear. So you don't have to bother taking your things out of the suitcase. Because maybe soon you'll be out of this house."
"Yes, Miss."
"Oh yes one more thing, remember well. We're not husband and wife so don't mess with me or I can break your neck with just bare hands."
"None right."
Next Gina enters the room followed by Surya while pulling her suitcase.
