Silent. The two men's hands clenched tightly on the table. Naina gulped, clutching her own bag.
"You don't want me to go, just let me go" Naina said as she stood up to leave.
The cross-eyed widened, confused himself as Naina preferred to leave.
"Eh, wait! Where are you going?" his actions brought Naina's steps to a halt.
The girl turned around, sighing deeply. He really wants to go.
"Sit down! Sorry me. Come, sit!" speak with a soft voice.
In order to fulfill her promise, Naina returned to the chair and sat opposite the boss.
Damnit damnit! Why would I lose to him, anyway?
The man cursed inwardly, glancing at Naina who started to pull out lunch supplies. There was absolutely no shame in even a few pairs of eyes paying attention to him.
The manager before him growled inwardly, continuing to stare at Naina while threatening himself. It doesn't matter to the waiter who puts his order on the table.
"Come, eat, sir. Bismilbornrahmanirrahim, allaahumma baarik lanaa fiimaa rozaqtanaa waqinaa 'adzaaban-naar. Aamiin's." Naina smiled, starting to do her first bribe.
Seeing his childlike behavior, reciting prayers when he wanted to eat, made the manager's heart slip. Silently smiling, the annoyance that had been controlling the heart just left. He began to eat the dish in front of him.
Occasionally glanced at Naina who was so enjoying home cooking. Never once did she see Naina going out to buy food, unlike other employees who were often seen going back and forth buying food or drinks.
****
"Why would you rather bring supplies than buy them outside!" the manager asked as soon as he finished his lunch.
"Because home cooking remains the best. Starting from the ingredients and cooking process I know, so it is safe for me to enjoy. If at the kayak gini stall, I don't know," Naina replied honestly, "lagian, pity Aunt dawn-body already cooked for this stockpile," he continued while glancing at the bag in his lap.
The manager understood, what Naina did made him remember in the past. Where when he went to school, Mom always prepared provisions for him.
Unknowingly smiling, imagining that if Naina becomes his wife he will ask for lunch as he does now.
"Well, you're right. I also prefer home cooking, but nothing is masakin. Understand, I'm a widower. So, it's a little difficult for me to find a wife" he said, looking at Naina's face that seemed innocent.
The girl knew what she meant, only that she pretended not to understand so that they would leave immediately. Naina who felt awkward from being constantly noticed, threw a glance out the window.
Her lips revealed a smile when she saw Alfin on the side of the road with a man. Behind him the children accompanied, he invited them to buy snacks.
He is a loving young man with children. Hmm .. if ....
Naina's heart chuckles to itself, dismissing the wishful thinking that is not necessarily real. Seeing Naina's strange behavior, the manager turns to find out what distracts the girl from her.
He sighed, the annoyance that had disappeared again came to see the young man who managed to make his heart flutter.
"Ekhem! Naina! I suggest you not to get close to the young man in the mosque" the manager scolded as he clasped his chest.
The smile on Naina's lips disappeared, slowly turning to the man who was looking at her that was careless.
"Why?" ask Naina not happy.
"You don't know who he is. He is a delinquent, likes brawl, likes drunkenness, anyway all the bad he does. The young man is not well, where is his family? Who are his parents? You do not get close to him," he said disfiguring the mosque's marbot.
I'm not sure who my father is either? If he finds out about it, I'm sure he'll dump me like any other man.
"Sorry, Sir. Excuse me, I have to work again" said Naina quickly standing up and leaving just leaving her alone.
"Eh? Naina!" The manager was confused himself, he turned to stare unwillingly at the girl's departure.
"Naaina!" pursue while pulling the hand of the girl who did not understand his call.
Naina turned around with her eyes reddened. The hand that touched him. What he said reminded him of an event where losing one life support.
"You why? Just go play, I'm not done talking. You-"
"Sorry, Sir. I have to get back to work. Excuse me!" Naina chose to shut up, and immediately turned around no matter what she screamed.
The girl ran quickly clutching the bag containing Auntie's provisions while shedding tears. Alfin who was on the side of the road, was stunned to hear the name Naina called. He looked over, and looked at the two people who were getting further apart.
"Naaina!" mumbled wailing.
Alfin's gaze turned to the male figure still standing in front of the food stall as he stared at Naina's departure. He looked confused, I don't know what happened? Alfin must have seen Naina crying.
The manager who felt noticed, turned his eyes to Alfin's figure in the middle of the road. The confusion that had been shown turned violent. He blocked sharply at the young man who was the barrier to his goal.
The manager's two hands clenched tightly, melengos went back into the stall to pay the bills. Alfin behaved normally, but was not happy because the man had made Naina cry. He should know the reason.
"Why?" reprimand ustadz while patting his shoulder.
Alfin flinched, he smiled clumsily not knowing what to say.
"There's nothing, sir. Did you finish the snack?" Alfin turned his attention to the children who were so enthusiastic about choosing snacks.
"Udah, Brother!" suhut they are compact.
Alfin took the money out of his pocket, and brought them all back into the mosque. The young man preferred to be in the mosque, he did not even work to keep the house of God clean.
Naina ran inside the warehouse, sitting curled up in a corner. Clutching his own body. She wants to cry, she wants to be alone.
Mom, all men are the same. They're all just as bad, Mother. I need Mom's shoulder to lean on. Who am I complaining to in the world, Mother?
Naina sobbed, spilling a deep sadness.
Is a girl like me really unacceptable? O God, what a great test you have. How can I live it while the only backrest of my life has gone before You. How can I go through this all alone, O God.
Naina's body was shaken, forgetting her promise that she would never cry again. She was fragile, her heart remained fragile despite pretending to be firm.
The manager hurriedly opened the door and looked for Naina's whereabouts.
"Naaina! Where is Naina?" He looked at everyone in the shop.
"Lho, isn't Nai the same father?" The counter cashier asked because by chance he had not seen Naina enter.
"God! He came back here first. Didn't anyone see?" said frustration.
They shake their heads.
"Damn!"
