Inside the mosque, the young man was praying for forgiveness. Bathing repent he has done, following the prayer of repentance, followed by zikr reading Istighfar. The beads were still spinning in his hands, his lips twitching reciting the reading of Istighfar.
Occasionally his hands would wipe away the tears that fell, as two bodies were lying under the rain. Shown, blood flowed away with water. A painful moan ensued as the angel of death forcibly took their lives.
Alfin was alone in the silence of the night, weeping in a pit of sin he could not prevent. Too embarrassed to appear before everyone, especially both parents and children.
What would he tell those poor kids about what their father looks like? What answer will come from the words when two old men ask?
"Allah .. forgive the servant! Forgive me!" Alfin cried increasingly hysterically, looking down deeper, almost kissing the floor.
"I have killed .. I am a murderer .. O God, is there still a place for me by Your side? O Allah, forgive me my sins!" lamentation Alfin cried out for forgiveness.
He fell down in prostration, both hands squeezing the floor, grasping the air firmly. Her crying broke the hearts of anyone who heard.
At the side door of the mosque, Ustadz Hasan looked at the young man. His head shook weakly, also uttering a sentence of istighfar for him. He stroked the chest, never leaving Alfin alone.
His steps look certain when treading on the floor of the mosque. Slowly approached Alfin who was still trapped in the weeping of repentance. The green man sat down on Alfin's right side, slightly backward.
Staring at the young man who was still crying in prostration. Alfin let him spill all his regrets, so that there would be no more after. Alfin's cry shrieked more and more, then subsided gradually. He still prostrated not wanting to raise his face.
"The ultimate cry is the remorse of a servant over his passing time without obeying the commandments of God. Surely the tears of repentance extinguish the fires of hell and the tears of longing for God melt into heaven. O servant of Allah! What makes you cry in the middle of the night like this?" reprimand Ustadz Hasan without rising from his sitting.
Alfin was stunned, crying back before lifting the body from his prostration. He turned to face Ustadz Hasan in tears. He looked down, staring at his hands that were covered in the blood of another human.
Alfin cupped both hands on his face, falling down on the teacher's lap.
"Sir Ustadz!" Alfin hugged the man's knee. Shedding all the regrets that had clouded his soul. He knew he was a sinner, no matter where he ran no man would justify it.
"Why again? What caused you to cry?" ask the ustadz while helping Alfin to move on.
The young man nodded, sitting upright with his head bowed. Both of his shoulders shook violently, occasionally his hands would wipe away the tears.
"Sa-I've killed people, Ustadz. I have killed them" Alfin replied, hysterically unable to resist.
"Astaghfirullah al-adhiim! Tell me what it's like?" pinta the ustadz with his calm voice.
Alfin stammered about the events of that night, interspersed with sobs that would interrupt his speech. Ustadz Hasan listened very well. Occasionally nods his head, then stiffens. Then, rub the chest with relief while saying hamdalah.
"Subhaanallaah, walhamdulillaah, wa laa ilaaha illallaah, wallaahu Akbar! God willing, God willing, your repentance will be accepted by Allah. Do not despair of the mercy of Allah, for the mercy of Allah is wide. Verily, Allah is the Receiver of Repentance and the Merciful. God willing!" said Ustadz Hasan while patting Alfin on the shoulder.
The young man hoped for the same, may he be accepted by God. Throughout the night, Alfin listened to the advice and advice of Ustadz Hasan. He decided to stare inside the mosque for a few days until his heart was completely convinced that Allah accepted his repentance. Not that I left Naina.
In the morning at the hospital, Khadijah sat waiting for Naina who was still closing her eyes. The sunlight that hit the face, not even able to wake the girl from her sleep.
Khadija looked at him fixedly, how unfortunate fate to play tricks on him. However, she is convinced, Naina is a strong woman of God's choice who is able to undergo all the trials that God gives.
Her lips smiled as Naina bellowed, her face frowning, slowly opening her eyes and jerking to herself.
"Alfin!" Naina was aghast from her sleep.
The one figure he was looking for and wanted to see for the first time was Alfin.
"Alfin! Where are you?" Naina searched in all directions, she could not find Alfin.
Khadijah stood up and approached her, feeling pity for Naina's mental condition which was definitely shaken.
"Naaina! You calm down, yeah. Alfin went to the mosque, he found his children. Not going anywhere" Khadija said, stroking Naina's trembling back.
The girl almost cried, her eyes and face reddened. His pale lips trembled, even his breath hunted heavily. Fear clearly emanated from those two eyes. Khadija could not see it.
"Sister, Alfin didn't leave me, did he? He's just going to the mosque, isn't he, brother? That's not true, brother. Tell Alfin, it didn't happen" Naina said.
Khadija could not bear to see his pale face, he hugged Naina to calm the girl down.
"No, honey. You calm down, yeah. He just went to the mosque, not anywhere. Do not have to think of anything, later if his heart was calm, he must have come again here," said Khadijah rubbing Naina's head.
Naina's heart still does not feel calm, but she hopes that what Khadijah said really happened. The girl tries to suppress her feelings, calm her heart and dismiss all the bad prejudices about Alfin.
Khadijah took off a hug, wiping Naina's face from the soaking sweat.
"Aren't you the laper? Eat first, yeah. In order to recover quickly," asked Khadijah while pulling a chair to feed Naina a meal.
Naina is heartless, her heart wants Alfin there. He began to doubt the young man. One bribe, two bribes, Naina shook her head refusing the next bribe.
Khadijah sighed, put down the plate and took out a glass of water. Give it to Naina. She does love the girl sincerely, no matter what Naina's condition is like, in her eyes she is still a good girl.
"No need to think about things like that, last night Alfin said goodbye to Brother. He said that if Naina nanyain was in the mosque. Just pray that Alfin can calm himself," said Khadijah as anxiety increasingly visible on the girl's face.
Naina let out a long sigh, lowered her head while playing to her ten fingers holding the turmoil in her heart. Nodding slowly, though the heart hesitates.
O God, I give my life and death to You.
