Teach Me (Naina)

Teach Me (Naina)
Chapter 67

"Assalamu'alaikum!" The sound of greetings heard outside the house seized their attention. The two women looked at each other, before Khadija finally left.

"Wa'alaikumussalaam!" he answered, opening the door of the house.

Khadija was stunned, his breath was blocked, not thinking that the two men who came were very well known by his family.

"Huh-yes? What's up?" Khadija stammered, his tongue twisted. Feelings of anxiety continued to cross his heart, making him anxious.

"Sorry, Brother. Can we meet Abi?" asked one of the men, smiling at Khadijah.

The woman's forehead frowned, if they came, there must be something wrong.

"My feeling is that something is wrong. What's up?" examine the pregnant woman with both eyes.

They chuckled, already thinking that Alfin's elder brother would never be fooled.

"Later Brother also knows, we want to meet with Abi first. We think it would be better to talk about it together with him" they said politely.

Khadijah shook his head, his heart kept wondering what the purpose of the two men's arrival was. Holding back his curiosity, he opened the door wide. Letting the two enter and herding them into the living room.

"Wait here, yeah. Brother call first," said Khadijah embraced by both.

He turned around and went to the backyard where the two old men were. Sitting by the pool, looking at the fish that never stop passing by. Don't know what they're looking for? It's as if I'm not tired of swimming here.

"Pig!" call Khadijah distract both of them.

"What's wrong?" ahmad asked, looking at the face of his eldest daughter.

Khadijah approached the two, whispering softly to tell the arrival of two men to their home. Ahmad's eyes widened, his heart was instantly unsettled. Even with Aminah, somehow hearing the two come always makes them anxious.

"When they came home, something must have gone wrong. Is Alfin home? Is he home?" Ahmad looked at Khadijah after lowering his head.

"So, Bi. Drenched, raining. Don't know why else?" Khadijah sighed heavily, thinking about Alfin was endless.

"Yes already. Come on, let's go ahead. Maybe there is something they want to convey" said Ahmad while standing from the chair assisted by Khadijah.

The three walked into the house, continuing towards the living room came to the two young men.

"Assalamu'alaikum!" ahmad arrived in the living room.

"Wa'alaikumussalaam!" The two men quickly stood up, greeting Ahmad politely. Do not forget about manners even though they already have a position.

"Please sit!" Ahmad stuck his hand on the sofa. He sat with Aminah opposite the two messengers, while Khadija went to the kitchen to make them warm tea to cool the body from the cold from the rain.

"So, what brought you here?" ahmad asked after they sat back down.

"I'm sorry, Bi. It's not that we don't respect Abi as a religious leader in this city. Or Abi's distinguished family. We were just messengers, carrying letters from the office" said one of the two men.

"Letter from the office?" Ahmad's eyebrows are linked to each other, he looks at his son and wife who also look confused.

Khadijah stood beside him, just as he had placed a tray before them.

"Yes, Bi. This is Alfin's arrest warrant." He handed me a letter from the police.

Ahmad's hand shook to accept it, his heart misty read the writing on the paper. Look at the letters on the paper. Her tears fell, her breath in her throat.

"Why, Bi?" Amina asked worriedly.

Khadijah quickly picked up the paper, his eyes rolling right and left perusing every letter there. Khadijah's chest rumbled, too great.

"Is this letter wrong?" ahmad asked to prepare his heart for all the possibilities he would accept.

"Certainly, Abi. There was a report going into the office about the murder three nights ago. The victim was two people, dead horribly. According to the whistleblower and many people who saw that Alfin was the perpetrator of the murder," answered one of them with certainty.

"No way, Abi! Alfin can't kill people" said Aminah. His heart did not accept the child being accused of murder.

Ahmad gaped, speechless for a while. Likewise with Khadijah, the Eldest smothered his own mouth. Tears are uncontrollable.

"Have you guys been to the scene? Or ask the people there? Maybe they were wrong" Khadijah said. Alfin was naughty, but he wouldn't have killed anyone if there wasn't a reason.

The two men stared at each other, before they turned to Alfin's brother.

"According to residents, Alfin that night brought a girl who was thought to be another victim. Maybe he can be a witness in court later to ease Alfin's sentence or release him" said one of two police officers who came without wearing the uniform.

Both of them dressed in plain clothes, in order to maintain the good name of the family of Ustadz Ahmad.

"Naaina?" gumam Khadija's. Only the girl can help Alfin from the law.

"Well, only Naina can help Alfin." Khadijah glanced at the second floor of his house, where Alfin stood and heard all.

"Alfin?"

Hearing Khadijah's murmur, everyone turned to his point of view. Alfin went down the stairs, approaching them in the living room.

"Alfin"

"That's right, Umi. Alfin couldn't control himself that night. Alfin did not knowingly do so, Umi. Alfin, I'm sorry." Alfina fell at the feet of Aminah.

Cry full of regret because during life has not been able to make their old hearts happy. There is only distress and always makes them sad.

"Alfin beg your pardon, Umi. Forgive me, Alfin." His cries and confessions made Aminah's heart crumble. He decays, hugging his son.

Her feelings as a mother say that Alfin is not entirely guilty.

"Alfin should come with them, Umi. Alfin had to make amends for Alfin" said the young man again in Aminah's arms.

"I'm sure, you're not actually wrong. For some reason, the heart of Umi is very sure," said Aminah while kissing the head of her youngest child.

"Let her come with them, Mi. Let Alfin learn to take responsibility for the mistakes he made." Ahmad's voice that was filled with emphasis made Aminah's cries more and more.

The old woman shook her head, refusing the departure of her son.

"This must be a misunderstanding, Alfin can not be origin to kill people," declined Aminah tightened a hug on the body of his son.

"Naaina! Only he can explain what happened to the police. We still have hope for Alfin's freedom" Khadijah said, preventing Ahmad from exploding.

"Alfin, Brother will come to Naina and ask her to be a witness" Khadijah said confidently.

Alfin released a hug, shaking his head as he looked at the older brother.

"He is not there, brother. He's gone, uncle and aunt are gone. Their house is empty" Alfin said regretfully.

Khadijah's body was limp, falling on the floor while holding his chest that felt tight.

"Allahu Akbar! Laa haula walaa quwwata illaa billaah." Ahmad rubbed his face, not that he was not anxious, but what else? Alfin's done it, and he's gonna have to take responsibility.

Alfin went up and helped Aminah as well. He wiped the tears of his mother, smiling hard to accept everything.

"Abi together Umi do not come to the police station. Don't let anyone know if your child goes to jail. They came well, they did not even come to the mosque because they might not want the children of Alfin to know. At home, God willing Alfin is able to live it all," asked Alfin before walking up to the two messengers.

"Thank you, because you didn't pick me up at the mosque." Alfie smiled at the two.

They nodded their heads and walked side by side with Alfin. The young man looked back, staring at the tearful old face of his parents.
