"Please don't take Naina away!"
****
Before Adrian's arrival at the police station.
"Assalamu'alaikum, Mr. Ustadz!" greet the Bus to Ustadz Hasan at the mosque.
He came to the Alfin mosque shortly after Naina replaced the young man in prison. The man with the distinctive turban slung across the right shoulder, looked up at the door of the mosque. All of Alfin's children were gathered to hear the study.
"Wa'alaikumussalaam! Bas, please come in!" greet the ustad with kindness. Her soft-spoken lips smiled, blowing calmness at the agitated young policeman's heart.
The bus shook, his eyeballs glanced at all the children there as if to be a gesture to ustadz Hasan asking them to leave. The ustadz understood, then ordered the eldest of them to bring all his sisters to play.
"What's wrong? You seem restless" asked the ustadz as soon as Bas sat cross-legged in front of him.
No matter how much he hides the restlessness of the heart, he will never escape the sight of a Sholeh before him. Bas sighed deeply, preparing his heart to tell him everything that had happened.
"Ah, how's Alfin doing? The kids kept asking about him. I think over time they will also know for themselves about their father," said Ustadz Hasan ended his breath thinking about Alfin's foster children.
The bus who was about to tell the story overheard the statement. He lowered his head for a moment, squeezing his fist, gathering confidence to tell the righteous man before him.
"Alfin just got out of jail, Ustadz. The mastermind behind all of those incidents has been caught, but ...." The bus bit the flesh inside his lower lip, pressing it for a while while closing his jaw.
"Alhamdulillah. Thank goodness." Pleased the ustadz, but then frowned confusedly. "But ... but what?" Asked curious continuation of his hanging sentence.
Again the young policeman sighed, raising his face to look at the ustadz waiting for an answer.
"But that's because Naina took her place. I don't know, Ustadz. He forced us to take Alfin's place on the grounds of Alfin's ailing mother." Bas shook his head, completely clueless as to the love story Alfin and Naina were playing.
Ustadz Hasan was a little surprised, but still remained calm. He let out a long breath, how complicated the destiny that both people have to live.
"Maa is Allah! It's an amazing story." Ustadz Hasan raised his face, looking at Bas with a meaningful smile.
The young policeman looked down, avoiding the look of the ustadz. Her heart crumpled imagining Naina crouching behind bars. He is the victim, but he must also feel the punishment.
"So, is mom in jail now?" The question made both of their bodies stiffen like they were being stung by a stream of electricity.
Unbeknownst to them, Alfin's two biggest children eavesdrop on their conversation. The children only want to know the news about their father, but what is obtained is the news about Naina who replaces Alfin.
"Astaghfirullah al-adhiim! So, you guys listening to our conversation?" Ustadz Hasan smiled, indeed they should have known about their two foster parents.
His hand waved, asking the two to come in and sit down together.
"Ustadz, Uncle, are you really in jail in place of you? Why didn't you tell me you were in jail all this time? Not go find mom?" the oldest child.
Bas looked at him for a while, before sighing again. He rubbed the boy's head, feeling sorry for their lives.
"Uncle can't do anything. It's all because of your father's request that you don't want his children to know that he's in prison. He doesn't want you to be disappointed with him. He doesn't want you guys to feel ashamed for having a father who's been in jail." The bus fell silent again, their beads clashing sharply.
The biggest boy, grabbing the cop's hand from overhead, grasped it tightly without taking his eyes off her.
Bas raised his face, staring around. All the children of Alfin had stood there hearing the statement of their eldest brother. The plain faces that looked pitiful, suffered from being far away from the father. Bus tears, besides being lucky to have Naina, Alfin is also lucky to have great children like them.
Ustadz Hasan smiled, how influential Alfin was for their lives. He managed to educate them to be wise and grateful children.
"Uncle!" Halwa slowly approached Bas, grabbed her hand and squeezed it with her little fingers. "We'd like to see Mom. Halwa kangen same mom. Uncle can take us there?" his door with vibrating speech and foggy eyes.
The bus folded its lips as tears rolled out. The little girl's simple request, simply tore through the deepest recesses of her heart. He grabbed Halwa's little body, crying without a sound.
Ustadz Hasan rubbed the corners of his eyes, heartbroken to see them strayed without parents. The ringing of the young police's cell phone stopped the novelty. The bus took off a hug, pulled the phone out of the pants pocket, saying goodbye to Ustadz Hasan to answer the phone.
Halwa glanced where she went, then approached the ustadz and sat on his lap without hesitation.
"Pas Ustadz, we look at mom, yuk. I must be sad alone there. Halwa wants to meet her mother there, sir," she asked while playing the thin beard of the ustadz.
He nodded as he rubbed the little girl's hair. Kissing her cheeks, holding her lovingly.
"We're going there now. You guys get ready first, Ustadz wants to get a car."
Halwa went with all her sisters to go to the dormitory to lock the rooms. The bus returned and said goodbye to ustadz Hasan due to orders from the office.

"Please don't take Naina away!"
That smooth and gentle pitched request paused their steps. Naina turned around first, to make sure the owner of the soft voice was. Ustadz Hasan came to the police station, but word from Bas said that Naina was taken away by her father.
The dynamic figure before him, collapsing Naina's defenses. Not her, but the little girl holding her hand.
"Mother!" Ustadz Hasan took off his grip, letting Halwa come to Naina.
The girl fell on her knees, stretching out both hands to welcome the arrival of the child. Speechless, he wept in Halwa's small arms.
Adrian turned, rubbing his face withstanding the sadness. They are one of the reasons why Naina survives in the city.
"Mother!" All the kids went into the arms. Spilling longing on their mother.
Naina took off a hug, staring at them one by one.
"Where do you know that you're here?" ask with a bitter heart.
"Uncle Bus came to the mosque. We didn't knowingly hear him say that I'm here to replace you." The answer that was thrown by the biggest child, shook Naina's feelings. He didn't want them to know that if Alfin was in prison, they had to trust him anyway.
"Mother don't cry, we still love you with Mom. No one can replace you with Mom." Halwa rubbed Naina's cheek, not letting her drop a tear.
Touched the girl, he hugged them back.
"Thank you very much, thank you for accepting us."
