The Pamuksa War Part 4

Only Heru Cokro thought clearly and ordered some troops to chase and others to protect Prabu Pandu.

Seeing Heru Cokro, Prabu Pandu was very happy. “Jendra, today's victory is on you. I'll really reward you.”

Heru Cokro, who was on top of the barong, said respectfully, “I dare not assume. The victory was due to the prestige of His Majesty and your army. I wouldn't dare take credit.”

Heru Cokro only wanted a practical gift, and for such a title, he would rather not accept as it would be easy to make enemies from within and outside.

Prabu Pandu nodded and understood his point. In his heart, he had already made the decision to reward Heru Cokro. He fully knew that today's result was due to Heru Cokro's contribution over the past two days. Even if he himself did not say it, his various officials would recommend him to reward Heru Cokro for making up for his help.

Seeing the troops chasing towards him, the retreating Prabu Temboko became ruthless. He ordered some of them to stay and hold them while he took his main troops away. Those left behind were pretty much abandoned and left to die.

Right now, one could see the prestige and position of Prabu Temboko in the eyes of his troops. The soldiers who started to retreat after losing were embarrassed and chose to accept the dead mission to protect their leader.

Prabu Temboko bid farewell to them before increasing his speed to escape.

When he was far away, he immediately ordered the troops to light a fire and separate the pursuing forces. Fire uses the wind to spread quickly and cover all trees and grass. But the wet grass cannot make the fire bigger and instead becomes smoke that starts to blur the entire area.

Facing a thick blanket of fog, Prabu Pandu's forces have lost their way. Feeling helpless, Prabu Pandu could only order his troops to stop chasing and wait for the next order.

He looked at the surrounding officials and said, "Who can break the fog?"

It's only natural that he's so worried. If he lets them go and doesn't chase them, it won't be long before Prabu Temboko will return. As someone who loved his people, he couldn't let that happen. The way he saw it, the peaceful life in which agriculture was improved was the right way. This battle with Prabu Temboko must stop.

The officials looked at each other. With such fog, they were completely confused.

When everyone was confused, Heru Cokro spoke up. "Your Majesty, I have an item that can break the fog."

Prabu Pandu is very happy. “What is that stuff? Quick, fast, eject.”

Heru Cokro nodded and took out a wooden carriage and explained. “Item is called a directional train, and no matter how it turns, its wooden hands will point north. Before we go, we just pay attention to the direction, and we can get through the fog.”

"Is this item really magical?" Prabu Pandu is doubtful.

Heru Cokro confidently laughed and said, "Please try and you will know the result."

Prabu Pandu was a very brave man, and after making sure that it worked, he rearranged his troops and ran into the fog with the guidance of the carriage that was heading north.

On the way, Hesty Purwadinata and the others stared at Heru Cokro like a monster. In the end, he couldn't help but ask. "Jendra, how do you know that this battle requires a train that leads north?"

Heru Cokro shook his head, because he knew they were going to ask. “Actually, I'm not sure. Ever since I found out that the first Janaloka Map was the Pamuksa War, I searched for information about the battle. You all know that this battle is one of the legends and any truth is perpetuated, so any clue would be minuscule. I made a guess and the most interesting to me actually was that Prabu Pandu was the one who invented the north-pointing train or compass technology.”

“It is clear that at the time he did not have the ability to make it. It was supposed to be done by his descendants who gave awards to Prabu Pandu. Then I thought that since it was recorded in history, maybe he was really stuck in the fog just because they used a different way to break through. So I thought, that if I could make a train that leads north, it would be useful in battle. In the end, the mist really appeared.”

Heru Cokro's words were clearly made up. This was only because he had the advantage of knowing the future, so as to make preparations well in advance. Because he could not tell them the truth, so he could only resort to making a holy lie by force.

Listening to his explanation, everyone increasingly respected and envied Heru Cokro.

"Sister Jendra is amazing, I've started to adore you." Maya Estianti said in admiration.

Hesty Purwadinata was also stunned and gave him a thumbs up. “Jendra, amazing. To seize the opportunity of a small clue in history. I think your keen senses are similar to Habibi, the madman of the mission.”

Heru Cokro did not want to discuss this topic and said, “OK, you guys can stop praising me. From my point of view, once we get through the fog, there will still be another big battle.”

"We're going to do it."

As he said, under the guidance of the carriage that was heading north, they came out of the fog. By the way, the train that leads to the north is the advanced design of Dom Kemambang.

Not far from them was the army of Prabu Temboko soldiers who were sitting and reorganizing themselves.

He did not believe that the enemy could easily get out of the fog. Therefore, Prabu Temboko did not worry and let his troops rest. However, when he was still thinking of resting his troops to rest, counterattacked and shocked them. Who would have thought that they would magically pass through the fog so easily? This was a huge blow that made his morale free-fall.

On the opposite side after passing through the fog, the troops grew more confident in Prabu Pandu. They did not know that the train leading to the north was given by Heru Cokro, and thought it was the work of Prabu Pandu himself.

Of course, he made the choice not to give them a chance, and directly ordered the troops to rush forward. The great battle began again, and this battle lasted until late into the night when blood flowed like a river.

The Taboo Warrior survives and retreats at the same time, hoping to once again escape the fate of being killed. Prabu Pandu's troops chased after from behind, wanting to annihilate them all before stopping.
