Aswatama: Drona and the Missing Child

At that time, the Regent decided to personally purchase the gift and set the standard of its reward. However, as time went on, it was no longer a top priority for Heru Cokro.

After giving gifts to the two officials, Heru Cokro finally had time to return to his reading room. Meanwhile, Rama's little daughter, Tribhuwana Tunggadewi, naturally helps her get around.

When Rama returned to the Ruler's Manor, the atmosphere fell apart again. Everyone was reminded of her cheerfulness that made them love her, but also felt overwhelmed. Fortunately, the four small beasts were already not there, so the burden became lighter.

Although Manguri Rajaswa was not there, the secretary room was still functioning. Important documents had been neatly placed on the table, waiting for Heru Cokro to handle them.

Heru Cokro postponed the meeting until after the new year because he wanted to use a few days to adapt to the situation in the region.

In the afternoon, Heru Cokro visited Suratimantra and Drona. Although these two figures were not involved in the affairs of the territory, they still had an influence that could not be ignored. Due to the return of Heru Cokro, he felt the need to visit them.

This time, Heru Cokro was hoping to get some help from them. Before officially implementing his plan, he wanted to hear the opinions of the two.

Over time, Suratimantra deepened his feelings towards Jawa Dwipa. He warmly welcomed the visit of Heru Cokro. Several sentences have helped change the view of Suratimantra.

Looking at the young man before him, many thoughts filled Suratimantra. This young man had knowledge, depth, courage, and an admirable view of the future. Even more surprising, he was not arrogant and was willing to ask for help. Such a thing was hard to find, even Raden Partajumena when he was young was not this great.

When visiting Drona, a God of War, warmth envelops their visit. Drona wisely pointed out some flaws in Heru Cokro's plan. The knowledge of parents cannot be underestimated.

Towards the end of his visit, they discussed the construction of the academy. Heru Cokro wants to select a student from the current military for the first semester at the academy. Drona agreed because he was well aware of the weaknesses of the Javanese Army of Dwipa.

After careful consideration, Heru Cokro made his decision. After farewell to the God of War, Heru Cokro took a walk around the city before finally returning.

The population of Java Dwipa has reached 300 thousand people. Not all the townspeople recognized him. If not for the Guards behind him, they would probably have thought of him as an ordinary person.

The next day, after morning practice, Heru Cokro continued to settle administrative matters. Although he had asked his officials and subordinates to rest, he himself did not do so. Yesterday's lesson helped clear his mind. He has to solve everything himself.

Heru Cokro instructed the secretary room not to bother him unless something important came up. In that room, he was alone. Meanwhile, in another room, two important guests from Java Dwipa spoke after coincidentally meeting and deciding to travel together.

One of them was an old man who looked excited with a doctor-like appearance. The other was a young man who seemed to be paralyzed and affected by leprosy, he was sitting in a wooden wheelchair and was pushed by the old man. His face had a long scar in the middle of his eyebrows.

Then, a city guard stopped the two of them.

"Who are you?" ask the guard to the old man.

The old man laughed and replied, "I'm a traveling doctor. I came to this region because I heard of the many expensive herbs that were here."

The guard then pointed at the man in the wheelchair and asked again, "Then who is he?"

The guard was from the military, so he could recognize the scars on the young man's face. Usually, such scars indicate that a person is a slave or has committed a major crime. Whoever he is, it's been quite attention-grabbing.

This examination attracted the attention of another hundred people gathered at the gate.

When they saw the young man's appearance, everyone started whispering. Some pity him, while others scoff at him. However, the young man seemed unconcerned with the surrounding crowd, as if he had gotten used to such a situation.

The old man raised his head; even though there was a scar on his face, he still looked very handsome. Precisely the scar adds a special charm to its appearance.

"I'm here to find my father!" said the young man.

"Dad? Who's father?" ask guards.

The young man waved at the guard and asked him to come closer.

The guard did not feel suspicious and immediately approached.

The young man softly uttered a name to the ears of the guard.

"Ah, is he really? Is this true?" said the guard in amazement.

When the guard heard the name, he immediately called out to someone.

The young man said, "If you don't believe me, you can follow me to see my father. I'm not used to the road, so can you take me there?"

The young man's words left the guards indifferent to the civilians crowding beside him. He only brought the two young men into the territory of Java Dwipa.

All these events certainly attract the attention of people and cause a lot of gossip. Everyone tried to guess the identity of the father of the young man who managed to shock the guard.

No one knew that the guard was an elite from the city protection division, who was usually very calm.

The wheelchair-bound man is one of the most important figures in the Mahabharata legend, Ashwatama, the son of Drona.

In Javanese puppetry, Ashwatama is also known as the son of Begawan Durna aka Resi Drona with Dewi Kripi, daughter of Prabu Purunagai from the country of Tempuru. Ashwatama has a unique feature in the form of hair and the sole of a horse's foot because when he was conceived, Dewi Kripi was in the form of a sembrani horse when trying to help Drona fly across the ocean. Ashwatama was from the Sokalima school and, like his father, sided with the Kauravas during the Bharatayuddha war. He has a brave, clever nature, and is good at using a variety of weapons. From his father, Ashwatama inherited a magic heirloom in the form of an arrow named Cundamanik Arrow.

In the Battle of Bharatayuddha, Drona was killed for being caught up in a hoax perpetrated by the Pandavas. They tell Drona that Aswatama has died, but in fact the meaning is not a human Ashwatama, but a war elephant named Hastitama that sounds similar to his name. Drona became discouraged after asking the famously honest Yudhishthira, and Ashwatama was disappointed by Duryodhana's over-defending Salya whom he accused of being the cause of Karna's death. Finally, Ashwatama decided to withdraw from the Bharatayudha war. After the Battle of Bharatayuda ended and the Pandavas moved from Amarta (Indraprastha) to Astina, Ashwatama sneaked into the palace of Astina and killed Drestadyumna (killer of his father), Pancawala (son of Puntadewa aka Yudistira), Banowati (widow of Duryodhana), and Srikandi. It is said that he finally died at the hands of Bima, after his body was destroyed by the blow of Gada Rujakpala.
