Chapter 56 Blood

"Here eat first."

Anika tries to feed the soup she bought across the hostel, but Jane still does not want to eat it. His whole body was shaking.

"Do you want to sleep?"

Unresponsive, Anika leads him to a large bed in the middle of the room asking him to sleep. Jane lay on the bed with a pale face and kept shivering, when Anika had covered her. This situation made Anika worried and hoped that Kairi could immediately solve her problem with Yuri and come here.

Suddenly Irina cries from hunger to make Anika take her eyes off Jane.

"It's a cute kid, you hungry too?" With agility Anika prepared her milk into the bottle she had brought. Despite being two years old, Irina has not been able to walk and talk, making Anika also worried about her development.

"Mama's sick, so you're with your first appointment" he said picking up Irina who was busy drinking her milk.

Her pregnancy made her feel tired faster. He realizes that he must carry Irina because of Jane's unstable state. Although he has tried to do his best, but it turns out that his physical current is less supportive. Fortunately, he was now able to rest on a chair. Soon Anika fell asleep in her sleep.

She was awakened by the sound of Irina's cry that seemed to be heard from the bathroom. Who took him there? When she caught up, Jane was bathing her daughter.

Seeing the familiar sight of the mother and child made Anika smile. He became calm because Jane seemed to have stabilized and could return to normal activities. Long looking at them made Anika feel awkward. Irina was no longer crying, but she was also no longer visible on the surface of the water.

Jane tried to drown her own child.

"What are you doing!" the thrill immediately intercepted Jane's efforts.

Irina's body floating on the surface of the water made Anika instantly lift and give her first aid. As a nurse she had this fundamental knowledge. Many times Anika pumped her small chest and gave artificial breath but Irina never realized.

"Come on, Irina ...." Anika keeps pumping the poor boy's stiff body, hoping to save his life.

Fortunately his efforts bore fruit, all the water he spewed out and made him start crying. Anika immediately breathed a sigh of relief and carried her away from Jane. He really did not expect this mentally damaged Jane.

Jane just kept quiet seeing it all. His mind looks empty.

Knowing she couldn't handle herself, Anika grabbed her phone to call her husband. He saw dozens of incoming calls from unknown numbers and realized his phone was off.

Anika comes out of the bathroom with Irina in hand and tries to call back the unknown number which turns out to be connected to Yuri's phone.

"Hallo?"

"Anika? Quickly get Irina out of there!!" yuri's orders were then berating her brother for driving a car with a very reckless while using his service car.

Anika still thinks that Yuri is a bad person so is not sure of her. "Where's Kairi?" anika asked a little.

Yuri gave her cell phone to her brother. Kairi then shouted from behind her driver, "STAY AWAY FROM JANE RIGHT NOW!!"

Anika who daritadi think Jane is a victim of cannibalism and harmless, looks frightened when turned to find Jane who slowly stepped forward to approach him.

"Return my son .." said he smiled who even looked creepy with an expressionless pale face.

"Look at your son, Jane. He's completely innocent. Calm your mind first." Anika still does not understand Kairi's prohibition to stay away from Jane. She thinks Jane's mental health is frantic and tries to help her, just like she used to do with the ODGJ patients she used to treat.

"You're not alone, I'll help you. There's nothing wrong here. You're just a victim." added Anika trying to calm her down.

Jane's cry broke. He covered his face with both hands and continued to sob. "I'm not a good mother! I'm monster!"

Feeling compassion for what Jane experienced, made Anika's heart moved. Before becoming pregnant, she always thought she was unworthy to be a mother. She fears that one day her soul will become unstable and will turn into a monster to harm her own child. But Kairi has given him a lot of strength that has allowed him to take the big step of having a child like he is today.

"No, that's not true. No mother is perfect, but I'm sure all mothers want the best for their children."

While saying this, Anika could not imagine her mother, she could not imagine Kairi's mother. But he imagined himself who would carry the fruits of his love with the person he loved.

Jane was silent which made Anika dare to step forward. She thought that touching would make Jane calmer, but she didn't expect Jane to bite her outstretched arm.

Anika is shocked by Jane's actions and attempts to remove the bite on her agonized arm. The skin of her arm began to tear from Jane's sharp fangs. Anika could not release herself to the fullest because her hand held Irina who started crying again.

Jane took off her bite and her words horrified Anika. "Anika is so soft-hearted, I'd love to taste your heart."

Finally Anika realized with the conversation earlier on the phone and tried to run away from Jane whose mouth was covered with blood belonging to Anika.

With the condition of being pregnant and holding the child in hand made Anika difficult to run to the door. Jane managed to catch the tip of Anika's clothes and pull it, making Anika fall in front of Katena lost balance when the exit was in sight.

When Anika falls, she tries to protect Irina's head before landing hard on the floor. Instantly, his stomach felt tremendous pain due to the pressure he had gotten when he fell earlier. Anika felt a fluid drain from her inner thighs, which when she noticed was her own blood.

Jane approached Anika who had been lying on the floor with fresh blood still flowing out. She takes Irina and ignores Anika who is almost out of blood due to her only focus on her child.

"My dear, soon we will become one ...." Irina who kept crying she kissed and elus her head.

Just as Jane was about to step away, Anika tried to hold her back by gripping her ankle tightly, trying to ignore the pain in her stomach.

"Don't .... He's your son ..." he said he was trying to stop Jane's intentions.

Over time Anika's grip weakened due to too much blood loss. He tried to get her to talk again but no sound came out. Over time her eyes became heavy, before Anika's unconsciousness felt a splash of fresh blood drenching her body.

Irina was already unsaved and died at the hands of her own mother, and may have been the next victim of cannibalism.
