Chapter 74 The Fugitive

Yuri had rang the bell of the house many times until it was finally opened by Madam Brown, a dark-skinned and fat-bodied woman, in stark contrast to the white silk kimono wrapped in her striking gold embroidery.

"Good morning Mrs Brown" the handsome policeman said to his co-worker's wife. Behind the face mask he was wearing, an annoyed expression was clearly visible on the curly haired woman. The arrival of guests early in the morning, who does not feel irritated?

Although still shaken by the new reality she heard earlier, Anika still wanted to make sure to her own husband before swallowing the information from foreign men who claimed to be Yuri's superiors.

"I'm sorry but you can come again tomorrow." Anika tried to close the door a second time, but this time it was stopped by Kairi who had been standing behind her.

"Don't involve my wife in your dirty plans!" he threatened to look very angry when in fact his body was still weak due to disease and instability of his brain.

The authoritative man smiled satisfiedly managed to pull out Kairi who had long been targeted by the police.

"You don't look well, Kairi Evans." The men behind him were ready to pull guns from behind their coats. As much as possible they do not want to attract the attention of the surrounding community so that their movements are very careful.

"I'm sorry, but we didn't come here to make a fuss" he explained telling his men to lower their weapons. "We just want you to surrender yourself voluntarily, so your punishment will be commuted."

Kairi doesn't want to believe the police who slandered her. He hates the fact that they involve his pregnant wife.

"Is there no other choice but that?" tanya Kairi actually did not expect to get a good answer either.

"That means we have to forcibly arrest you," replied the man before him, clasping a weapon at his waist, about to take it out and point it at Kairi.

Anika stretched her hands to the side and stood between them, fortifying herself to protect her husband. "Stop it right now!" he was desperate, not wanting any bloodshed to happen in front of his shop.

The policemen are shocked by Anika's bravery and return to keep their weapons.

"Madam should not get involved in our problems" the boss hopes Anika can get away and Kairi can be arrested immediately.

"I'm not leaving if you're still thinking about catching my husband!" she said she hoped the strength of pregnant women could soften the police and allow her husband to be free.

But of course the commander could not just take off Kairi who was now standing before his eyes. Long silent thinking, he again grabbed his gun, hoping his risky plan could succeed in shooting Kairi in the leg and taking her to the police headquarters.

Unfortunately, he is dealing with a psychopath who is mentally unstable. Kairi took a step faster and had managed to push the hand of the commander who was holding a weapon. In order to protect his wife, he managed to dodge the bullet which now shot through the throat of the poor commander.

Blood spurted out a little about Anika who immediately screeched at the murder incident before her eyes. This incident was witnessed by the commander's men who immediately pointed their weapons in front of Kairi.

Quickly, the police officers were all killed by Kairi using a weapon from the commander who was still clutched with his body.

Anika manages to protect him, but Kairi has become a real fugitive.
