Never Not

Never Not
Ch. 110: Dry Camelia String

..."Every woman will look beautiful and perfect in the eyes of the man who loves her."...

...~Rai Matsui's. Ch. 78~...

...----------------...

Rai is of course a dilemma over the choice that Yuta has just given. Yes, as a former best friend who once lived together, Yuta quite knows the weakness of the man. Although against the woman Rai can be said not to be a good man, but as a family he is a brother who loves his sister very much. Every time he saw his brother coming in with his work coat, it was a matter of pride for the man.

Rai has returned to his residence. Just entering, he finds Yuri calling. Apparently, the girl was talking to her parents.

"I don't have that much savings. But, I will find out if anyone can give automatic wheelchair installments" Yuriko told her mother. Apparently, the girl had not noticed Rai's presence.

Instead, Rai was stunned to hear the girl's conversation on the phone.

Yuriko ended her phone. When he turned around, he was stunned to see Rai who was also looking at him.

"Who's calling?"

"I called my father because I wanted to ask the case seventeen years ago," Yuriko replied slightly stammered.

"Then?"

"Unfortunately, I got word from my mother that my father was being treated at the Hospital. He fell down the stairs, his wheelchair was broken and could no longer be used" Yuriko said with a sad face.

"Oh, so."

Unexpectedly, Rai's response was very short and flat. This of course made Yuriko hesitant to ask him for help. Moreover, Rai has often helped him, including giving a place to live.

Yuriko tried to peek at Rai's expression, then said, "That guy ...."

"Only an old friend" the man said as he opened the shirt he was wearing.

Yuriko immediately turned quickly behind him. "Hey, why do you always just take your clothes off!" pissed off.

Rai smiled amusedly at Yuriko's behavior. Reflexively, it compares life in the past as well as the present. Suppose he did not get betrayal from the closest people, surely he would not find meaningful people who surround him at this time. Plus doing great things that he never thought of.

Not that he also never missed his glory days before. While still in the world of deception, only armed with a brilliant brain he was able to move hundreds of millions of Yen owned by others into his account. He can have luxury items as well as have fun with the girl he wants. Of course, all of that is inversely proportional to his life of the last year that is far from the luxury and glitter of the night world where he achieved satisfaction.

Now, which one should he choose? Stay like this and continue on a mission of justice with the man who helped his life, or return to his old world with the man who betrayed him to keep his sister's career?

Sunlight that breaks through the ventilation gap is a sign that the change of day has occurred. This is the second Sunday of spring where the season is always associated with the beginning of warmth. The birds sang loudly, buds began to grow in the trees and the smell of fresh cherry blossoms that began to bloom began to greet along the way.

At Matsumoto's residence, the butler knocks on Seina's room door informing her that the car is ready. Yes, today is the fifth day after his father's death. The ashes will soon be kept in a burial place.

Seina opened the nightstand drawer to pick up her watch. At a glance, his eyes were directed at the flash belonging to his father that was entrusted to him to give to Shohei. He came out of the room ready to leave.

"Did Shohei-kun come today?" seina asked the butler.

"No, Miss. Your girlfriend hasn't been here since yesterday."

Seina's body seemed to be slackening. He knew the man in the investigator's profession must be busy investigating the case of his father's death. It's his fault for not seeing anyone for a few days. After the sudden death of her father, she completely lost her direction and purpose.

It turned out that Shohei was currently at his parents' residence. He even had breakfast with his father and mother.

"What about Seina?" ask mother.

"She has not been willing to meet anyone yet" Shohei said in a hollow-sounding tone.

"Surely he's still very hard hit." Mother Shohei showed a concerned face. "How about you ask her to stay here? If he stayed alone, he would continue to be trapped in grief. What say?" The graceful old woman asked her husband.

Mr. Yamazaki looked at his son while throwing a question. "What about you yourself? Are you really going to marry her?"

"Of course," Shohei replied quickly.

Master Yamazaki nodded slowly. "Attousan supports whatever your decision is!"

After breakfast, Shohei meets his father who is reading a newspaper in their pool yard.

"Ottousan, please tell me what Seina's father said when you last met! There's gotta be something he's been hiding all along, right?"

Mr. Yamazaki was speechless with a straight forward look.

"Attousan?"

"This is not something you need to know" he said in a dark voice.

"I deserve to know. Did Otto forget, I'm an investigator?"

Mr. Yamazaki smiled faintly then said, "What he said has absolutely nothing to do with the materials of your investigation. You better focus on uncovering the mastermind behind his death. Use your intuition as a detective."

Mr. Yamazaki gently patted his son's shoulder before it passed. Shohei frowned and his face gradually became gloomy.

Seina placed flowers, incense and water in front of the tombstone. He kept his father's ashes in the basement. Led by the monk, he and all the servants and people who worked in the Matsumoto family held a sacred ceremony.

Seina looked up, staring at the clear sky this morning. There were no more tears to her eyes. Signs he has been sincere with the departure of his father. Although until this moment he is still reluctant to see the news in any media.

In the distance, there was a pair of eyes that could not be separated monitoring them. Watch over Seina and the company until they leave the grave. He walked slowly to the deserted grave. His gaze was fixed on the surviving incense stick. He placed the bouquet of flowers he carried on top of another pile of flowers.

"Your death is your own desire. So, it's not my fault" said the man as he looked coldly at Mr. Matsumoto's photo in front of the tombstone.

An hour later, Seina had returned to her residence. The girl wearing black clothes then reached into the bag to take a cellphone. He frowned when his palm touched something that looked fragile and dry. His eyes were then diverted to a sprig of Camelia flowers stored in his bag. At one time, he never kept the flowers. For a moment, he looked at the bouquet of Camelia flowers given by Shohei that he just placed on the nightstand.

Seina picked up the Camelia flower that had withered and dried. Right at that very moment, a letter tied to his stalk immediately fell down. He took the letter folded into that little rectangle.

Reading the letter's opening sentence, made Seina's eyes grow bigger instantly. Had not ignored, now he immediately opened the paper width of the letter and began to read carefully.
