Ch. 20: At the Top of the Building

Unbelievably, five days had passed quickly. Today, at Keio University, Seina and her friends gather in a cafeteria located on campus after completing their courses. Seina told her friends about her date with Shohei last Sunday.

"What?! You refused when you wanted to kiss your girlfriend?" His friends were shocked when Seina told him that.

Seina nodded with guilt enveloping her until now. In fact, since that incident he has become reluctant to contact Shohei first. In fact, before he often called the man just to find out what he was doing.

"Am I wrong?" asked Seina who was still down.

"Obviously it's wrong! She'll assume you're not interested in your relationship because you don't welcome her" one of her friends said.

"Wait, what exactly is the reason you refused to kiss her?" ask another friend.

Seina fell silent. In fact, he was confused by his actions back then. He was ready to connect further with his girlfriend. However, suddenly the figure of Black Shadow came to haunt his mind and also messed up his feelings.

Looking at Seina who was silent for a long time, one of them held her hand and said, "Seina, you must be just nervous. That's not a big thing. Remember, he is an elite man, certainly will not be a problem for him. So don't think too much!"

Suddenly their views were diverted to the number of students who ran towards the building of the Faculty of Political Science.

"What's wrong?" asked Seina confused.

One of his friends, holding one student who was running. "Hey, what's wrong? Why are you running in a hurry?"

"Aren't you guys seeing Black Shadow live now?" The student asked back.

"Huh?" Seina's friends could only gape. One of them who so admired Black Shadow, hurriedly picked up the phone.

"He is holding a live broadcast on our campus right now, precisely in the building of the Faculty of Political Science. He took Fukamu Masae hostage on the roof of the building!" said the student with a frenzy.

Seina and her friends were wide-eyed. "What's? Hostage Fukamu Masae, that college thug?"

Not thinking long, Seina immediately ran first to leave her friends. He headed to the Political Science faculty building where Black Shadow would perform his actions. True, the courtyard of the building had been filled with hundreds of students and dozens of lecturers.

Seina raised her head. He could clearly see a tall man dressed in all black complete with a mask that covered half his face. Next to Black Shadow, a student named Fukamu Masae sat in a wheelchair with a body wrapped around a rope.

A vlog camera complete with his wand, appears propped up in front of Fukamu Masae's chest and pointed directly at his face. There was also a small camera attached to his forehead, but pointed forward. Not only that, a long rope was tied up in a wheelchair and connected to a pulley controlled by Black Shadow. If the pulley is pulled strong and then released, then the wheelchair occupied by the man will slide and fall from the height of the building.

The students and lecturers screamed and were terrified. They wonder why Fukamu Masae was targeted by Black Shadow this time. Not a few who perpetuate the arrival of Black Shadow with their cellphone cameras. The security guards at the university were unable to do anything because Black Shadow forbade them from approaching. Surprisingly, the elevator in the building suddenly malfunctioned.

"What's going on?" Seina's friends came to surprise her. They looked up and gasped to see Black Shadow standing gallantly while holding the end of the rope.

Instead of being afraid of the actions of Black Shadow holding one of the students hostage, Seina's friends were even excited to see the mysterious man directly. Even they throw praise because it turns out that the man has a good posture.

"I can imagine his face from behind the mask he was wearing. Must be so handsome like a Hollywood actor!" shouts Seina's friends back with uncontrollable behavior.

Seina was still staring at the man. Compared to his friends who had just seen Black Shadow in person, he had met the man twice. Somehow he re-imagined the moment the man clenched and kissed his lips at each of their meetings.

Unlike the other students who kept coming to the place, Yuriko was not interested at all to watch the action of Black Shadow. Though the faculty building is only adjacent to the Political Science faculty building that is currently crowded. The casual-looking girl even walked casually towards the roof of the Science and Technology faculty building, while listening to music through earphones attached to her ears.

Still in the same location, Mr. White was standing at the top of the Science and Technology faculty building. He held onto his tablet while installing an earpiece that was directly connected to Black Shadow.

"Do it now, remember don't be careless! Don't act dangerously, and don't hurt him!" firmly Mr. White who was ready to control Black Shadow while monitoring his actions from a fairly close distance than usual. Next to her hand she slipped in her pants pocket.

"All right! Playing around with her a little bit is okay, right?" Black Shadow's voice sounded from the earpiece channel.

Mr. White did not answer, instead opening an application. In a matter of seconds, a dedicated channel of Black Shadow has been connected to the entire television broadcast, streaming app services, and various social media.

"Mina-san (all), Black Shadow is back to uncover the truth hidden in the darkness. Let's be clear, as clear as black and white!" said the man right in front of the camera stuck on Fukamu Masae's forehead.

Black Shadow not only shocked the entire university, but also the public who were watching the broadcast. In fact, the parliament building was also in an uproar with the action this time. Fukamu Masae's father, who was leading the meeting, jumped when the projector screen behind him showed the face of his son who was tied to a wheelchair.

Kei, who was also watching the broadcast, immediately ordered the cameraman to come with him.

"Let's go to Keio University! We're going to have a live broadcast there" he said in a hurry while picking up a reporter's bag and mic.

A tense look filled Fukamu Masae's entire face. Cold sweat soaked his forehead and palms. How not, if the rope held by the masked man came off, then he would plunge free from that floor. He kept shaking his head while shouting for people to help him immediately.

Black Shadow greeted the audience again. "Mina-san, must you be wondering why I did this to her? I'm tired of dealing with mice. So, I guess I need some fun entertainment that's adrenaline-pumping. As you can see, this is my way of comforting myself. I'm gonna play around with someone's life. Interesting, right?" said accompanied by laughter.

Seina gasped at the words of Black Shadow. His attention is distracted when one argues that maybe Black Shadow will bring down Fukamu Masae as it relates to a case that may involve his father. Hearing that, Seina shook her head.

Nah! He can't do that!"

Seina immediately ran over leaving the crowd. However, he instead walked into the building and attempted to climb up the emergency stairs to reach the highest peak where Black Shadow and Fukamu Masae were currently on foot.

Whatever case related to Fukamu Masae, you must not be a vigilante by taking his life! Can't! Please stop!
