Never Not
Ch. 115: Calms the Heart

Shohei immediately turned his gaze away. He was too shocked and did not expect Yuriko's confession just now. He did not even think that the girl had romantic feelings for him at all.

It's funny, from the beginning he avoided Yuriko because Rai seemed to like her. Who would have thought the world of their romance instead revolved like an endless ball or have an angle.

Yuriko immediately stood up, grinning foolishly as she said, "Good God it is not appropriate for me to express my heart in this kind of situation. I'm sorry I got too carried away by my own feelings."

He rushed to the kitchen and cleaned the cookware that had been used to cook porridge. Shohei was still frozen, silent and fixated. His eyes occasionally glanced at Yuriko.

Yuriko's phone rang suddenly, apparently it came from her mother. The girl immediately received a call. Just now speaking, he looked surprised and panicked by what his mother said. It was seen by Shohei who had been monitoring him.

"In that case, I'll go home now! Wait, may there be a ship today."

"What's wrong?" ask Shohei.

Yuriko was silent. Unlike when he was with Rai, he was reluctant to say what he was going through to Shohei.

"Did something happen to your family?" guess Shohei.

"My dad's been in the hospital for a few days now. The mother cannot work because she has to take care of him, while there is nothing that can be used to pay for treatment if the mother does not work. So I want to go home to see it. Sorry, Shohei-san, I can't linger here. I have to get to the port to board the ferry." Yuriko lowered her head, then picked up her bag preparing to leave.

"Can I come?" ask Shohei.

The question line stopped Yuriko's steps instantly, she turned around slowly and looked at the serious-looking Shohei.

"I don't want to continue like this. Can you help me get rid of this pain?" pinta Shohei. "I think .. I need a different atmosphere than Tokyo. An atmosphere that can restore my spirit again," he said slowly. Instead of running away, he just needed to calm his mind and stabilize his emotions in order to think more clearly.

The man's request naturally made Yuriko flinch. He turned around with a pair of widened eyes in disbelief. His heart exploded in there. Despite trying to be muted, it still beats twice as fast.

Yuriko sontak nodded. In his heart said it didn't matter if Shohei only made himself an escape, provided that the man could return to his main goal.

Preparing himself suddenly, Yuriko and Shohei came to the port to catch a ferry that day. Fortunately, they are not late. Both had been on the ship, both of them staring at the vast expanse of the sea. The wind made the hair of both of them wave in the air.

"I'm glad you're healthy" said Yuriko, breaking the silence between them.

"I'm sorry to worry you" Shohei retorted softly.

"It's okay." Yuriko looked back at Shohei who seemed to be enjoying the touch of sea water.

To be honest, he wanted to ask Shohei. It's just, he's feeling awkward. He could only hope that the two men's relationship was okay. From the bottom of his heart, he was also worried about Rai. Even his inner self continued to wonder the whereabouts of the man.

Finally, after passing the sea journey that took sixty minutes, they arrived at Ine village which is Yuriko's hometown. This remote village squeezed by mountains and waters is still located in Kyoto prefecture. When setting foot, the view of the sea water, floating house and pine forest lined up neatly greet the cool eyes.

Yuriko immediately taught Shohei to his house on the beach. The wooden-dominated house looks simple, there is not much furniture, but there are some photo displays showing Yuriko's father in his proud police uniform. Shohei's eyes squinted when he saw one of the photos that captured Yuriko's father's friendship with the other policemen.

"Look at this figure beside my father! Isn't that Kazuya Toda?"

Shohei nodded. "True, it's Kazuya Toda."

Together they visit the hospital where Yuriko's father is being treated. Arriving in the ward room, Yuriko's mother was surprised to see her daughter carrying a handsome adult man with a tall sturdy body shape.

Shohei bowed politely before Yuriko's father and mother. Yuriko's mother stood up and immediately pulled her son's hand and took him out of the room.

"Who's that handsome guy?" ask Yuriko's mother while peeking at Shohei from the curtained window.

"He's my friend" replied Yuriko.

"Is he really your friend?" Yuriko's mother still doesn't believe it.

"Yes, he's my friend."

Yuriko's mother immediately put on a disappointed look. "I thought she was your lover. He must be a rich kid. You see from his body smelled like the smell of a new sheet of money."

Yuriko smirked and said, "He's actually the boss at my place of work."

While Yuriko could only exhale violently. When he was about to re-enter the room, he saw Shohei and his father talking seriously. He abandoned his intentions and let Shohei speak with his father.

That afternoon, the tinge of light in the orange sky was dazzling. The horizon line looks graceful in space, a sign that soon there will be a change of time from light to dark. The boisterous birds hummed flying in groups. Showing the atmosphere of the village is more beautiful than the atmosphere of the city filled with engine noise.

Returning from the Hospital, Yuriko takes Shohei around her village. However, Shohei frowned when the girl instead brought him to the bicycle rental place.

"When I'm sad, I choose to bike in the hills. I spilled my frustration by pedaling my bike as hard as I could against the wind. The blowing wind seemed to blow away all the trouble that was raging in my head" Yuriko said with a smile.

After paying the rent, each of them took a bicycle and started riding it. The two men are now cycling leisurely in tandem. They piled every corner of the village, passing the beach, the expanse of rice fields, where the market trading center to the quiet streets that meandered.

Shohei and Yuriko compactly shouted as they descended the narrow hills below which was a ravine. It seems they are speeding. Evidently, both of them increase the speed of cycling. Their legs pedal fast like athletes in a championship.

"I definitely won" said Shohei, whose bike is now moving ahead faster than Yuriko's.

"Not necessarily!" Yuriko bowed her body, then accelerated her paddle so that it could align with Shohei's current position.

"Huh .. hah ... Huh ...." The two compactly lean their bikes on a tree then sit resting on the asphalt.

"It turns out when on the move, humans will feel themselves really alive. Arigatou, for a nice afternoon," said Shohei as he knit a smile.

Yuriko could only return the man's smile. Sweat points still reluctantly stop coming out of the pores of their skin. Both were silent and just looking at each other, their laughter broke without any funny thing to laugh at.

Dark lights began to appear at the horizon. Yuriko and Shohei decided to return home. In the kitchen, Yuriko's mother was busy preparing a large dinner dish. The smell of roasted sea fish has been smelled, tickling the hunger of both of them who were exhausted after cycling.

"Yu-chan, you're running out of Shoyu, please buy it at Pak Utada's shop" ordered his busy mother to cut the radishes.

"Well," Yuriko said. He turned to Shohei. "Do you want to come with me shopping? Not too far."

Shohei nodded. "Can."

"What if we just use the bike to be fast?" Yuriko walked towards the old motorbike parked in their yard.

"Ah, I'm not sure. I haven't ridden a motorcycle in a long time." Shohei scratched his head.

"That's easy! You're quite quiet behind me" Yuriko said as she rode on the bike and started to start the engine.

"Did?" Shohei looked gasped. However, Yuriko directly threw the helmet which made her a little bit of a catchy lurch. After wearing a helmet, he sat behind the girl.

Yuta has just come out of a closed casino precisely in an illegal night entertainment center that is a hotbed of Yakuza. He snorted annoyed at losing playing cards by using the rest of the money Eita Kaze gave him. Yes, about gambling, Yuta is not as good as Rai who mastered the tricks in order to win. This casino was once also his favorite place with Rai to gamble while looking for new prey.

Yuta staggered with a bottle of champagne in his hand towards where he parked his car. Without realizing it, it turns out that from earlier he was monitored by a group of people in black uniforms. While heading for a narrow and deserted alley, two people who turned out to be Eita Kaze's men immediately confronted him.

Yuta's move was forcibly halted. Just by looking at their looks, he instantly knew there would be a danger threatening him at this moment. He immediately turned around quickly. Unfortunately, behind him were two people in similar uniforms.

Yuta was certainly helpless in the hands of those people. Moreover, he had no chance to escape. He chose to run to the side, but one of them easily caught the nape of his neck making him unable to move. One of them came forward, then struck his stomach and face many times.

Yuta fell on the asphalt helpless. However, he did not want to die in vain. He shuffled backwards while throwing anything at them. Unfortunately, his actions had instead ignited those people's emotions. One of them raised his body like a sack of rice, then threw it into a pile of wood.

Yuta groans in pain. Really, he no longer had the energy to move let alone run away from them. Almost resigned. When the men were about to bend it, at the same time appeared a figure of a man who jumped from the top of an old building and swept a kick that directly landed on the jaws of each person.
