Ch. 64: Black Shadow is the Shadow of Shohei

In that instant, Rai's pupils widened right after turning towards the girl who had just greeted him. He was glued with eyes that did not blink at all. The figure that was before him at this moment really made him dumbfounded.

"Hajimemashite, I'm Matsumoto Seina, I'm Yamazaki Shohei's girlfriend." Seina extended her hand forward while commenting on the graceful smile.

"By the way, how long have you and Shohei been friends? Shohei said, he already thinks of you like his own sister."

Seina raised her gaze and was aghast because the direction they were going was not the road to the theater. "You're wrong! We should turn left instead of continue! We're going to the theater building adjacent to the Tokyo Dome" Seina said quickly.

Rai who just realized if he lost his driving focus, immediately turned the direction suddenly until the sound of tires squeaking. That certainly makes Seina jerked with a head that almost hit if only not wearing a seatbelt.

Seina regulated her breathing while trying to neutralize back her heartbeat. His head twisted rapidly towards Rai with a face that was holding back the protest.

Apparently Rai's actions earlier made him get a bad impression in Seina's eyes. The girl could not believe that the man beside her was not as friendly as Shohei. He seems to have too high expectations for his girlfriend's friend. He thought he could get along with her. Who would have thought, the man did not show a good attitude towards her.

Shohei-kun: Has he picked you up?

Seina: Yeah. We're heading to the theater.

Shohei-kun: Goodbye watching. Tell me if he teases you. I'll pull his ear, haha.

Shohei enters the elevator with Seto Tanaka who accompanies him.

"Armato, Tanaka-san. I was helped by the spare suit you brought, "Shohei said.

"It's okay, Chief. It's my fault that I forgot to give you the invitation. You must have organized activities outside." Seto looked down with guilt.

"Can you take me to the theater near Tokyo Dome after this?" pinta Shohei sighed. "Actually today I have a date with my girlfriend" she whispered shyly.

Seto Tanaka rounded his eyes. "Is your boyfriend okay with dating cancellations?"

"I ask you for help from that. He's right there."

Seto nodded quickly. "Ready!"

An elevator clank rang as the doors opened and led them to the destination floor. Shohei and Seto seemed to have jumped up as a high-ranking police official stood before them. The two men got the elevator wrong. The elevator that carried them was devoted to the top officials of the national police. No doubt, they rushed over to apologize and came out.

One of the high-ranking police officials then looked back, looking at the silhouette of Shohei's back that had just passed in front of them.

"Isn't the glasses guy the son of general Yamazaki-san?" asked the official with dark eyes that flashed.

"Oh, yes, he's an investigator with the Metropolitan police. He has also been recommended to move here" said one of the police officials.

Finally, Rai and Seina arrived at the theater building. Several spectators were seen entering the building. Seina and Rai compactly get out of the car. Once glancing at each other, Rai decided to walk first without saying anything.

"Wait!" Shouts of Seina stopped Rai's steps.

Rai turned slowly, turning his head flat towards Seina.

"Arigatou gozaimasu has replaced Shohei to bring me here. Gomennasai, if I trouble you. It seems like you were uncomfortable. You should have been able to refuse Shohei's request rather than resort to it" said Seina, who was upset that Rai was visibly stifled and would not speak to her.

Again Rai was just silent. However, this time he raised his hand and showed both of his palms towards Seina. He began to move his fingers nimbly, making a sentence with sign language.

Suddenly, it made Seina flabbergasted and instantly bowed over and over again.

"Gomen, gomennasai," he said guiltily, "i really don't know" again, thinking Rai was speechless.

Rai moved his hand again. "It's okay" he said in sign language.

"Can you hear my voice?" asked Seina in a cautious tone.

Rai nodded.

"Can I know your name? Shohei-kun didn't have time to tell me," he asked back.

Rai began to spell letters by letter with her fingers which made it easier for Seina to read her name.

"M-A-T-S-U-I'S CHAT. Matsui ... Matsui-san?" Seina read those letters in one word.

Rai showed the ring symbol as a sign of the mention of the name that Seina said was true. He then turned slowly back to Seina. His eyes dimmed slowly, and the smile lines on his lips vanished gradually.

Black Shadow was Shohei's shadow, not Rai Matsui's.
