Remember Me, Baby.

Remember Me, Baby.
Officially Mrs.Roux

Half an hour later, as the car stopped at the door of the City Hall, Keiko felt half her soul was still left in the Roux family mansion. His body felt floating as Andrew took him into the courtyard of the white building. Apparently civil marriages are performed on the premises, slightly different from the existing civil registry offices in Japan.

The girl simply put on a wide smile and continued to nod to the few servants who greeted as she passed by them. Even the security guard standing guard near the entrance saluted as Marco led his son and future son-in-law in.

Upon entering the hall, a middle-aged man wearing official clothes immediately greeted Marco Roux's entourage formally.

“Welcome, Mr. Marco, I am so glad that your son will finally be married,” greet the man as he extends his hand towards Marco Roux.

“Your daughter-in-law is beautiful once,” compliments again.

“Thank you, Rony, you should come to the reception next week. I've asked Alfred to share the invitation,” Marco Roux replied with a happy glowing face.

“It is with pleasure that I will come,” reply the man who was addressed by Rony's name.

From the interaction of the two, Keiko could guess a bit that Mr. Rony was an acquaintance of Andrew's father. It could be that the man who was contacted by Marco Roux when they had just departed from the house earlier, proof that the man immediately welcomed them officially. Though when viewed from his appearance, it was clear that Mr. Rony had an unusual status. Is he the mayor?

“Please follow me,” invite Mr. Rony.

The three men immediately tailed behind Mr. Rony. As she passed by the waiting room, Keiko could see that there were enough couples waiting in line to make a marriage certificate.

As he walked, Andrew briefly explained how the process of civil marriage in Paris was carried out. The people in line must register at the counter to get the form, then submit a complete copy of the identity card. After filling out the form, they must conduct an interview session with the mayor/officer of the city separately, then wait for at least one to two months before getting a marriage certificate, after which only the wedding reception is held.

Keiko was a little out of words. The procession was more complicated than he thought. At first he thought they would be taken to the first counter, but apparently his guess was wrong. Mr. Rony immediately walked towards the administration room, opened the door and invited his three guests to enter.

The girl was a little confused. He thought he had to follow the complicated procedure described by Andrew. However, it looks like Marco Roux is already lobbying the mayor. Is this what is meant by using the back lane? Using connections to help in times of urgency ... Keiko didn't really know what to comment.

After inviting the three guests to sit down, Mr. Rony then gave instructions to two men who were there to help Andrew and Keiko take care of their marriage certificate.

“Wait a minute, the form is still set up.”

“No problem, we will wait,” reply Marco while smiling satisfied. At the very least, they did not have to queue up ahead and wait for up to two months! Occasionally abusing power, no problem ‘kan?

“Don't worry, I've told them to prioritize your son. It shouldn't take long.”

“Thank you for your help.” Marco patted Mr. Rony's shoulder sincerely.

“With your own relatives, there is no need to be too shy. Then, I go busy first.” Mr. Roby turned to Andrew and Keiko, then said, “Congratulations to you.”

“Thank you, Sir,” reply Andrew and Keiko simultaneously.

“Good. See you soon.”

After Mr. Roby left, Keiko suddenly remembered something. The pause was all too short so he didn't have time to think about it. With a slight hesitation he turned his head towards Marco Roux, thinking of how the man would react if he said the wedge in his heart now.

The girl was really nervous. He was afraid that Andrew's father would change his mind and cancel everything out of the blue. However, he also wanted everything to be clear from the start, not wanting to make the old man feel deceived.

“Dad,” call Keiko after gathering her courage.

“What's up?”

“Um .. Maybe the time and place now are not very suitable, but I need to talk about ... it .. my family background.”

Marco Roux waved his hand casually.

Keiko. Her eyes feel hot. He cleared his throat to clear his voice before replying, “But, Roux's surname, if anyone else gets to know—“

“Who dares bully my son-in-law? From this day on, not even an ant would dare to bite you. Even if my unlucky son dared to hurt you, I would beat him with my own hands. Your father took care of you and raised you with great difficulty, which can be oppressed by others. It's been. Don't think anymore. Understand?”

Marco Roux doesn't know Keiko's background. He asked his men to check on the girl, linking her to news of a recent intermafia coup in Japan. He was able to deduce it when he read the report file sent to his phone, especially if it was attributed to Andrew's statement that all resources taken from Phoenix.Co were used to protect Keiko.

There is no criminal record written on behalf of Sakamoto Keiko, there is hardly any information about the girl on the internet. So, Marco Roux really did not mind what the background of the girl was. More importantly, Keiko was able to change her son, a thing she could not do for many years of her life. Andrew was willing to marry and continue his efforts, he could have died peacefully.

Keiko who heard that answer could not help but cry. He really felt overwhelmed and sad because he remembered his father. It was a pity that his father could not see this happy moment.

“Already, no need to cry, later people think I'm scolding you.” Marco Roux pretended to sulk and turn his face away, when .. he himself also wanted to cry ....

Keiko shrunk her tears and stood up straight. He paid his respects three times saying, “Thank you, Dad. I will definitely be a filial son.”

“Good. That's more than enough.”

Andrew who from just a moment ago was silent finally commented a relieved smile. To be honest he was also a little worried that his father would reject Keiko. But fortunately, that didn't happen.

“Do not cry again, it will be ugly when photographed,” his joke while helping to remove the remains of tears that stick to Keiko's cheeks.

“Young Master, Miss, please fill this form. When it's done, go directly to counter two for photos, yes,” said one of the men who was given an order by Mr. Rony.

“Good. Thank you.”

The pair of lovers then filled out all the data in the form carefully. After finishing, Keiko went to the bathroom for a while to tidy up her makeup that had worn off from tears, then with Andrew went for a photo in booth number two shown by the clerk.

Not until an hour later, Marco Roux who had restrained himself since then finally could not hide all his emotions again when he saw the city hall officer hand over the marriage certificate to his son. He cried like a little boy who was not given candy, crying until his eyes turned red and swollen. Andrew had trouble persuading him.

“Dad, don't cry anymore .. later people will think you don't approve of our wedding,” persuaded Keiko when she saw her father-in-law's crying began to invite people's attention.

“Good ... good ... not crying anymore. Comeon, home. There are still many things to prepare, right?” Marco Roux controlled himself and tidied up his slippery shirt. He straightened up and walked out of the city like he had just won a big fight.

Meanwhile, Keiko who walked side by side with Andrew still a little disbelief that now he has officially become Mrs.Roux.

Is this not a dream?
