Remember Me, Baby.

Remember Me, Baby.
Grieved

Without feeling it had been two days Keiko isolated with Andrew in the cliff house, as soon as Keiko gave the name to the white building. He usually spent time at the beach, or secretly practiced martial arts in the backyard. He only met Andrew when it was time to eat, it was only occasionally because the man locked himself in the room more.

Several times Keiko found Andrew calling someone and talking with a pretty serious facial expression. However, Keiko did not want to look too eager to interfere, so she simply acted as if she did not see or hear him, she said, just like this morning when the man picked up his phone and rushed back to his room without having time to taste his own dishes, Keiko did not ask in the slightest.

It's not too late. After breakfast and a short walk to get some fresh air, Keiko returns home and wants to see Andrew for help. He thought about it carefully and decided to ask Andrew to give him a cell phone. He really needs it to know the conditions that are going on out there.

The girl felt she couldn't just stand by and let Andrew do it all by himself. At the very least, he could try to find out if his father's confidants were still left.

Keiko pushed open the front door and walked straight to Andrew's room. Although he hesitated for a moment because he felt hesitant to ask for help, he finally continued to knock slowly while calling the man's name.

“Andrew, you are inside?” he squeezed both his hands nervously.

To be honest, it's quite embarrassing. Andrew Roux had helped him a lot, and he had no obligation at all to keep him safe or to provide whatever he needed. However, for now Keiko was determined such things would be recorded and he returned to Andrew when the situation was stable enough. He will remember all the goodwill of the man and repay it worthily.

“Andrew?” call Keiko again when there is no answer from inside the room.

Could it be that the man was taking a shower? Or go outside without his knowledge?

It might be like that.

After considering for a moment, Keiko decided to go back to her room first. He will wait until Andrew returns. However, when he had just turned his body had been heard the sound of a car entering the courtyard of the house.

Quickly the girl tiptoed and peeked out from behind the window in the living room. A black sedan car entered the courtyard slowly before finally completely stopping near the door.

Keiko. He recognizes the driver of the car, the girl who helped him at Andrew's request while he was still in the military camp. If not, his name is Kim.

What the hell is he doing here?

“Andrew?” keiko muttered involuntarily when she saw the man coming out of the passenger seat.

What did that man do? When did he leave?

Keiko frowned while thinking and second-guessing in her heart. Andrew didn't say anything to her this morning. Was there an unexpected event? Or are there urgent things?

Whatisit?

Keiko was stifled and stunned for a moment when she saw an object in Andrew's hand that glimmered in the sunlight. The man looked extremely cautious holding the thing in his hand, as if it was the single rarest gem left in the world.

Unknowingly Keiko walked forward to greet the two people who had just arrived. He had completely forgotten his original intention to return to the room.

As soon as the door opened, Andrew looked up to stare at the towering silhouette before him in a daze. Keiko's face looked a little emotional, there was a fine dew on her clear eye patch. The glare of the eye implies a thousand unspoken questions. Andrew could see the girl's knuckles were slightly bleached from being too strong to clench her fingers.

The girl's eyes did not move in the slightest from the porcelain urn in Andrew's hand. His thin lips opened and closed several times, but not a single word was spoken. The girl was truly trembling now, making anyone who saw her would definitely feel extremely pity.

“Keiko,” call Andrew slowly while walking up the stairs one by one.

There was a very strong urge within Andrew to hug and calm the girl. However, he realized their relationship had not yet reached the stage where he could do so. Thus, despite seeing Keiko seeming hurt and lonely, he could only endure the discomfort in his heart and approach the girl carefully.

“This ... this, is ... I ...,” muttered Keiko with reddened eyes.

He looks very unfocused. His voice sounded hoarse and miserable. He stared at the pus in Andrew's hand and said a few words that could not be assembled into one whole sentence, but Andrew could understand what he meant very clearly.

Keiko's body trembled increasingly louder. Although he had guessed it from the beginning, he could not accept that his father was no longer there. Now it is truly a kara, having no one else ...

The girl immediately collapsed and fell down like a dry leaf blowing in the wind. His knees hit the floor hard enough, but he felt no pain at all. His heart hurts more. It hurt so much that his breathing felt so tight. It was as if someone had just ripped his chest and pulled his heart out.

“Ayah .. forgive me.. forgive your useless son ... I cannot protect you, forgive me father ..”

The girl knelt down and paid her respects three times in front of the urn still held by Andrew. His voice sounded sad and pitiful. Even Kim could not bear it and came to calm her down, but Keiko seemed to be grieving in her own world. Grieving and desperate.

Although his father lived in the black world, he never did anything that harmed his only daughter. The man took care of Keiko very carefully, treated her like a princess, educated her very well, practiced martial arts so that her daughter could defend herself from the targets of her enemies ... the man had done so many things that would imprint forever on Keiko's mind. Because of his kindness, Keiko did not reject his marriage to Hiro, it was because he wanted to please his father?

There is nothing left .. not even Hiro ....

Andrew handed the urn to Kim, then crouched down on Keiko's side and pressed his drooping shoulders. He could feel the pain and loss that the girl was experiencing. Losing someone you love is never easy. He has already felt it.

“Don't be sad, I will help you avenge your father,” said the man with a calmness that made Keiko aware of the stifling pain.

The girl's round eyes were red and watery, making Andrew want to get close and kiss her, transferring all the pain and sadness to himself. Had there been a way to make that happen, he would have done it willingly.

“Sakamoto Keiko, from today .. lean on me, I will avenge your father,” Andrew repeated when he saw the girl beside him looking at him with an expression full of pain and confusion. He carefully supported the girl's body to stand up, then led her inside.

This time Keiko did not refuse, she kept quiet and let Andrew guide her to the room.

Kim followed the two in silence. He didn't know how to comfort someone, so he just put an urn of ashes on the table and walked out.

“Berind a moment. When you are ready, I will accompany you to take your father to his final resting place.”

“Thank you,” Keiko replied briefly without turning her head. His eyes focused on the porcelain jar lying on the table. He slowly knelt in front of the table. He had no chance to perform a proper funeral ceremony, not even tsuya. Therefore, he wanted to make up for it even if it was only for a short while.

Andrew did not say anything more and immediately walked out. There was something else he had to prepare immediately.

Funeral ceremonies in Japan are called soushiki ( ⁇ ) or Osoushiki ( ⁇ ).

Soushiki ( ⁇ ) lasts for two full days consisting of one day of Tsuya ( ⁇ ) or Otsuya ( ⁇ ), and one day of Kokubetsu shiki ( ⁇ ).

Tsuya is a ceremony that takes place one day before the body is buried. On this occasion the relatives who come do not sleep all night guarding beside the corpse that will be buried the next day.

Lately many do tsuya with a shorter time, no longer a full day but rather start from dusk one night before kokubetsu shiki, called hantsuya or half tsuya.
