Garry took off his virtual glasses and touched the whale crest on his big-screen Plasma TV. The music that was pounding in the gray room suddenly stopped. The sweat flooded the young man's forehead and back. Darth Vader's black t-shirt stuck tightly to his body, wet and sticky. He exhaled so strongly that hot dew came out of his mouth and blended with the air.
If it wasn't for the special ringtone he tuned to sounding aloud for more than a minute, Garry wouldn't have stopped the game he almost won. He walked towards the black table in the corner of the room, then opened his laptop and pressed the enter button. Quickly his fat fingers danced on the keypad until finally a message with a large font appeared in the middle of the monitor screen.
Garry downloaded the attached file while clucking loudly. He corrected the location of his glasses that sagged up to the tip of the nose, then squealed when looking at the display on the screen. There are some photos that seem to be taken from CCTV cameras. The pictures were a little blurry, but it was definitely not a big deal for him.
“Disturbing my pleasure only,” grumbled the young man slowly. However, he still forwarded the downloaded image to the main computer in the basement.
The young man pulled the navy jogger pants that hung under the folds of his belly fat, then walked to the side of the wardrobe. He picked up the black shirt and changed his soaked shirt, then stuck a finger at the back of the closet and pressed the small circle hidden slightly upwards.
A subtle buzz crept through the air and echoed within the eardrum. Garry stared at the closet that shifted automatically to the left, then stepped into the iron box hidden behind the object.
Garry pressed the yellowish-lit letter “B” in front of him. In an instant the iron box moved down rapidly. Not for a minute, it stopped stably. The door opened and Garry walked out. He immediately sat solemnly on his chair that looked more like a throne in deep red.
In front of him lay a giant monitor nearly five meters wide. The screen was connected to a supercomputer created by Phoenix.Co. There are only ten similar prototypes around the world. Luckily, Andrew handed one to her.
To be honest, Andrew Roux was the only person who could conquer Garry so easily. You could say the young man almost never refused Andrew's orders at all. The strange relationship began five years ago, when 16-year-old Garry was pursued by all the spy forces in the world for successfully breaking into secret data belonging to the CIA and Interpol, then spread it on the internet. He was arrested and interrogated for 48 hours without a lawyer, without food, only a bottle of mineral water that accompanied him during that time.
Then, when he was completely hopeless, Andrew Roux appeared suddenly and became his god of salvation. He himself could not remember clearly how to get out of that hell, for sure when he opened his eyes the next day, he was already in this city, his hometown.
At first Garry was quite hesitant about Andrew's decision to bring him back to Jakarta. The man said that the most dangerous place was the safest place. Garry thought the man was crazy. But the man's words were true. It is still safe in this metropolitan city. No disturbance at all.
Maybe if Andrew hadn't shown up five years ago and helped him out, he could have been a life in federal prison, or worse ... not necessarily he's alive until now. Therefore, Garry could never refuse Andrew Roux's request.
The young man started activating a special program he created to infiltrate the data base that stores information for almost everyone around the world. It was a kind of facial recognition program, but it was more sophisticated. This program he created could find a person only from the introduction of the location and time when the person was in that place.
“Well, let's see .. who are you,” muttered the young man while entering the programming code and started scanning the location in the image sent by Andrew earlier.
The image on the computer screen moves like a puzzle piece that is matched quickly, stopping a fraction of a second at some point, it then re-shifted to meet other pieces caught on traffic cameras along a road near the station.
The monitor blinked quickly when it managed to recognize the same person at the station entrance, across the street near the stop ... the man had just walked out of a one-star hotel on the outskirts of Tokyo.
“Huh. Even a rat can't hide from me,” Garry said as he rubbed his hands quickly, then pressed enter one more time.
In an instant, all the information about the man in the photo was displayed on a computer screen, ranging from the place and date of birth to the time of the last trip abroad. Garry smiled with satisfaction and saved the data into a file on his computer. Shortly thereafter, he sent a copy of the information to Andrew with a note: mission completed, Boss.
The young man was just about to return to the upper room to resume his game when the mailbox on his computer screen lit up again. With squeaking eyes he clicked on the square box that resembled the picture of the envelope and read the contents of the message.
Nice work. Do again.
Beeping.
Beeping.
Beeping.
Almost 20 photographs were attached under the inscription, like a sword piercing Garry's eye. The young man's face was suddenly grim, but he could only exhale and start twitching again in front of the computer. What else could he do? Faster to do this task, it can be completed faster.
"Haiiish .. I really wanted to nag him, but I didn't dare" Garry grumbled as he scanned each image one by one in his computer program.
Shortly thereafter, the room only heard machines vibrating smoothly when executing commands typed on top of the keypad.
Garry's face that looked silly and childish now looked more serious when doing the task given to him. He understood Andrew Roux was in desperate need of his help at this time. Therefore, he promised himself not to disappoint the man .
