Drtts..
The phone vibrated, I stopped the movement of my hands that were combing hair straight to the waist and then turned to the drawer where I used to keep it. After that, I stepped three steps closer to the drawer to pick it up. It turned out to be a message from my husband Surya, I immediately opened it.
"I miss you baby, but it seems like this holiday I can't go home because there's an office business. Greetings to Zain."
The biggest smile on my lips, not because I am happy because Surya did not come home today but his sweet words that warm my heart. Then I returned the message.
"Yes, it's okay. Greetings and dear we return to Surya mas."
Surya returned it.
"Thank you dear for your understanding."
During this one month or so, Surya often sent sweet messages to me even our communication was very smooth despite living far away. Unlike the past, which very rarely exchanged news and said sweet words.
I put my phone back in the drawer and then continued to comb the hair that had been delayed. When I was just about to put a comb over my head, Zain poked his head behind the door that opened a little.
"Mr..!"greet Zain while smiling towards me.
I looked towards him."Hey, mama's handsome boy."
"Zen, want a minyum granddaughter ma!"whine Zain.
I fell silent, how do I remember when Zain asked for milk when Zain's milk was up from last night? I immediately rolled my long hair with the origin then walked up to Zain and squatted down.
"Dear sorry mom? mama forgot Zain's milk was up."
"Remove!" Zain repeated, his clear eyes began to glaze over. Maybe she's sad that the milk is over.
I immediately grabbed him. In my embrace Zain began to cry but did not make a sound he only shed his tears.
"We buy first, want milk? Zain, don't cry?"I calmed him down, and Zain nodded. After that, I rushed to change my clothes with more decent clothes.
Just as I locked the door, a Toyota stopped in my yard, holding Zain in my arms and watching who the driver was. A few minutes later, a tall and handsome man came out of the car smiling at me.
"Andre!"muttered. I was surprised, not yesterday he said he would go back to Jakarta but why now he came to my house again.
Andre stepped wide towards me who was still standing on the spot. Then he said hello," young mama, hi handsome on where does this look neat?" then pinched Zain's cheek.
"Why are you here again, Dre? didn't you say you were going back to Jakarta yesterday?"
Andre put a sweet smile on his lips and then replied, "the plan is so, but somehow it feels so hard to leave this village let alone leave the figure that is always in the heart" he said, his eyes did not come off my face. I turned my face the other way, because I didn't want to look back at his gaze.
To be honest, Andre has a charm that is no less far from Raihan. Handsome face, tall body strapping and if in their attention like there is a resemblance.
"Anyway, where are you going Nuri?"ask her later.
I looked back at his face."Buy milk at the mini market."
"Owh, if that's what I'll take you with me, won't I?" Andre offered himself.
I was silent about how good it was, and after a few seconds I nodded in agreement because I thought that if I walked it would take a long time to get to the minimarket.
Andre drove his car slowly, along the way I was a lot of silence while conversely Andre talked a lot and asked.
"Can I ask something not Nuri?" andre asked seriously.
I who was looking at the street through the side glass turned towards him."Want to ask what Dre is?"
"Eemm, what..are you happy to have your marriage?"Andre asked but his gaze focused forward.
I was silent, confused to answer. On the one hand I am happy to see the change in attitude of Surya to me but on the other hand I have not reached the direction of the name happy. I closed my eyes for a moment and nodded because I didn't know what to answer. I couldn't have told her I wasn't happy. Although I have not felt happy in the household for now but I believe that gradually Surya will certainly create a part for our household.
Andre seemed to smile wryly at my response even with just a nod.
"Fortunately for your husband Nuri, I came when the time was too late" he said softly.
"What do you mean Dre?"
Andre stopped his car on the side of the road. I was confused about what Andre was doing when I was hunting to buy milk, pity Zain already wanted to drink his milk. In the midst of confusion I asked." Why stop Dre?" My gaze was directed towards Andre's handsome face.
Andre looked back at my face, looking fixedly at my two eyeballs, his eyes like tearing at my heart and heart. Highlight those shady eyes remember me in the past, a time when he said he would marry me after adulthood but the truth is no, he married another woman instead. I was the most my face from his gaze because it could not feel to see the look of his eyes that left disappointment.
"Have you forgotten what I told you before my parents took me to Padang Nuri?" It turned out that Andre still remembered it, remembering his own words that made me wait for him for so many years.
I swallowed my saliva, I thought maybe it was time for Andre to know how I was waiting for him, how I was living after his disappearance. Then I answered it.
"You seriously remember Nuri?" ask her a little. Although my eyes were straight but I knew that Andre was staring at me enthusiastically. I'm nodding.
"If you remember why you married another man? why don't you wait for me, Nuri?"Andre asked in a slightly loud voice. Maybe she was upset with me for thinking I didn't want to wait for her and chose to marry another man.
I smiled wryly then looked at him with a sharp look."Do you think I'm that Dre? do you blame me, huh? where have you been all this time Dre? don't you know how many years I waited for you? Did you give me your news? isn't it Dre? you don't know how hard I was looking for your whereabouts back then? but after I found you on social media, I was so disappointed Dre, I was disappointed because the man I've been waiting for all this time has married another woman." I spoke with excitement, shedding my disappointment and frustration at him.
Andre gasped at my honest confession, maybe he didn't think I was the one he thought was married first and didn't want to wait for him it turned out that he himself was the one who married first.
"So.you..!"
"Yes, but it's Dre, I also think it's just a child's speech that doesn't understand a commitment." I cut Andre's words, actually I've also been lazy to discuss it and have forgotten it since I knew Raihan.
"But Nuri, you should listen to my explanation first if I..!"
"I don't want to talk about it anymore, Dre, it's just childhood and now we're living each other's lives. You know now I'm married and have children, so why should it be discussed? god has ordained us as just friends. And I pray for you that you get a better woman than your ex-wife."
"So, so you really don't want to hear my explanation?"
I shook my head as a signal I no longer wanted to talk about it.
"Key..okay...!" Andre turned his gaze forward then re-applied his car.
Fifteen minutes later, we arrived in front of the mini market.
I glanced at Andre who was silent and looked straight ahead. Like Andre was upset at me seen from the look on his face.
"Do you want to wait or just go home?"
Andre didn't answer my question but opened the car door and went outside. I am still in the ring - the head gnarled at his attitude.
While carrying Zain I stepped in to enter the mini market but Andre called me. I turned to the direction that was in the corner, I thought Andre had entered it turned out he was smoking first. Andre stepped on the nipple that still looks intact maybe just a few suction before I get out of the car.
Andre walked up to me and after standing in front of me he thrust his hand out while saying, "here let me carry Zain, you want to go shopping right?"
"Did I not trouble you?"ask me to make sure.
Andre ignored my question but took Zain in my arms, while Zain was silent, and then he walked towards the door of the minimarket. I stared at his back while shaking my head.
When I opened the door, Andre opened it for me. I smiled at him and thanked him. Just as we entered, I found two women and a beak man whom I knew very well staring sinisterly at us. At first I was silent to see those who were only five meters away from us but after that I ignored them.
"Nuri, take whatever items Zain needs not just milk," said Andre as his gaze pointed in all directions.
"Zain just needs Dre's milk, not anything else" I protested.
"It's up to you!" then Andre took two baskets. One he gave me and the other he held. Then Andre and I started to choose whatever items they wanted to buy.
I only took three boxes of milk size one kilo, while Andre I saw his bed was full of stuff in the form of snacks bread, Snack, and drinks. I was thinking maybe Andre likes snacking, therefore, he only buys food.
After feeling enough, we stopped and walked to the cashier and placed our groceries on the cashier's table. At the same time a woman wearing a long hijab grazed in front of us and placed her groceries on the cashier's table. I was very upset to see the woman who confidently stood up straight while waiting for the cashier to count her groceries. Similarly, Andre looks annoyed with the glare of his sharp eyes.
"Sorry mom please queue up behind the mas and mba because they are the first!" the cashier in front of us asked him to stand in line. It felt like laughing at the woman wearing the long hijab.
"No, I'm in a hurry, count up!" The woman refused him with a brush. From her voice I can guess who the woman in front of us is none other than Ms. Rida, because from her clothes alone I can recognize her.
"Do you think we're not hunting Mom? don't feel preoccupied, if you don't want to queue shopping at the stall."Andre arrived to open his voice in a mocking tone. The woman looked back then looked up high looking at Andre's face and it was true that the woman was Bu Rida.
"It's not polite to talk to your parents!" protest to Andre.
Andre seemed to be smiling in a slant and then begging him, "for what reason am I being polite to people who also do not have a sense of courtesy to others. I don't care if this mother is old or still a child, if it's against the rules it must be reprimanded."
Bu Rida looks very upset at Andre when he sees the look on his face. Then he turned his gaze towards me and looked at me even though I was silent and did not protest. After that, he stomped his feet then walked up and stood behind me at a distance of three meters.
Then we advanced forward closer to the cashier table.
"Sorry mba mas, mba is this made one or...!"
"Make it one mba!" Andre answered quickly and cut off the question the unfinished cashier asked. I was just about to open my mouth to protest because I wanted to pay for my own groceries. But Andre first glared at me so that I did not protest and then I fell silent.
When the cashier tells the total amount, Andre immediately takes out his debit card and gives it to the cashier. I was just shaking - the head bobble just saw it.
After completing the transaction Andre handed Zain to me because he was about to bring four bags of groceries. Our behavior did not escape from the cynical view of Bu Rida from the beginning to the completion of the transaction.
As we were about to leave, we heard Miss Rida quip me."Poor husband, his man is slamming bones for a living, his wife who does not know herself even delicious like other men.
